    Mohair is one of the most cruel/unsustainably produced types of wool. It’s been banned in so many fashion brands due to the appalling animal cruelty. Please buy it second hand if you can!

    I have a weird feeling that umbrellas will be on trend. Like really fun cute ones and maybe parasols as well. I’ve been seeing them sporadically in tiktoks all the way back from the first quarantine as fashion instead of function so I feel like this could be true. I’ve always been a big umbrella/parasol person due to my interest in Lolita fashion but this seems more mainstream and less j-fashion centered.

      @theQueen. 2 роки тому +6

      @@yessica5231 I understand that but let's not be idiots and "cancel" fur. People in cold climates need it. This is not personal towards u just for everyone, people from L.A. or warmer climates that are against fur, wear faux fur all you want but don't be that person 😒

    • @puudathemeow5593
      @puudathemeow5593 2 роки тому +5

      I don't think feathers or fur are necessarily a problem in themselves but they don't go well with the fast fashion mindsets that a lot of young adults have. They are not things to buy just because it's a trend. They are things you should only buy if you would like them even if they weren't trending and that you will wear for years, because that sort of product isn't something you should throw away just because you don't like it anymore.
      Some people are shaming fur, but I have my grandma's mink fur jacket, it's over 40 years old and still looks brand new and is warm and toasty when it's -30°c and doesn't make you sweat when it's +4°c either. It's all around a great jacket and the style is timeless.
      If I had a polyester coat I would probably want to change it out once in a while because they tend to start looking bad after a couple of years, but there's not many coats that would beat the fur jacket so I don't think I'll feel the need to get any knew outerwear in a while.
      If you do buy new or vintage fur/leather/sheepskin etc. you should make sure they are stored and taken care of properly so they hold and look good for as long as possible, doing anything else would be disrespectful both to the animals and the nature.

    I think ‘fashion’ gloves are too impractical to be actually mainstream. I think if you mean in the sense that less avant garde influencers wear them in posts, then yes, but I can’t see them becoming big in same way Fanny packs were.
    Otherwise I agree with everything else!

    I think three quarter anything will be popular. Last year I said 3/4 pants, but I saw over the last few months (or maybe more when Y2K and fairy grunge was huge) people wearing 3/4 sleeved shirts or jackets a lot. And with streetwear still going strong with the oversized trend, I also saw lots of oversized shorts going over the knee, making it almost a 3/4 short look. 3/4 anything was much more a micro trend these past few months, but maybe it will rise? Idk.
    I also think maybe velvet will become popular? It's comfortable, lowkey sexy and chic too. Everything people want right now, after starting to get out of the pandemic (or somewhat, considering omicron).
    In terms of hair, I already see red hair/auburn hair a lot right now, but I know it's gonna be even more huge.
    And finally a tiny/micro trend I think we'll see is jewelry over neckties or bowties, and badges or things like that over blazers and bags. Considering workwear is really popular, I believe people will try to make it more fun with some personalized stuff, also because everyone these days likes unique things or likes being different.

      PLEASE do not use real Mohair. It has been exposed as one of the most cruelly-produced wools. Mohair comes from a certain kind of goat that must be bred according to the demand of mohair, the goats are sheared 2x a year and the process is incredibly stressful for them as they are treated extremely roughly and at times even killed during the process - their skin is torn leading to infection and sometimes death, males are castrated and young males have their horns burned off. The goats' lack of wool at times causes them to freeze to death. Workers are paid unfairly, not by the hour but by how many goats they shear, which is part of the reason the goats are handled so roughly. It also mainly comes from South Africa which means the transport process isn't exactly environmentally friendly. Many brands have banned mohair for these reasons. I love how it looks & feels too, so I get it, but be responsible & use synthetic alternatives please!

    I’m so happy about mohair being trendy as I’ve been crocheting a tonnnnnn of mohair pieces lately and wearing them. Thinking about starting a little shop of my own to sell them even! We’ll see though if I’m ready to put myself out there like that though ☺️

    Okay, so I need fashion advice. For any of you ppl that know about online fashion stores, how bad is Shein? Because I'm a teenager girl who is 5"6 and around 206 pounds. I'm a size 14 so I'm obviously plus sized. I'm really thinking of shopping at Shein to get all my clothes, because I don’t have the money to pay $35 for a shirt and I need plus size, and Shein is the only online store I've found with good plus sized items for cheap. Should I shop at Shein and if not, does anyone have good, plus size friendly online stores? I'm looking for trendy and in style clothes in my size that are affordable.

    • @isa-sn3ng
      @isa-sn3ng 2 роки тому +2

      Shein is terrible for the environment, it’s awful. They’re plenty of mini documentaries about it on UA-cam too. But I’m in a similar situation to you, I’m a size 14, teen, and I shop on shein. I cannot afford to buy sustainably as it’s so expensive for me, I don’t have many thrift stores in my area, & can’t afford to travel far to find them. My best advice would be to research, try and see if you can find any other better brands. If you can’t, when purchasing from shien do small hauls and always check reviews(some clothing can be low quality) The main issue with shein, is that many people especially UA-camrs/influencers, will spend like 2,000 instead of just buying sustainably. So yes, it’s horrible, but overall shein has helped me stay “trendy” within what I can afford and in my size.
      Edit: Just wanted to add, I haven’t been able to find any brands that are affordable, sustainable, and have plus sized options, so I can’t recommend any right now. (I’m still searching for them tho) sorry! :(

    • @itzzozofashion2391
      @itzzozofashion2391 2 роки тому

      @@isa-sn3ng thank you so much for the advice on reviews and I'm glad to find someone in the same situation as me! I hope we can find some better places and if you do please tell me! I also don't have any thrift stores near me because I'm from a small town.

    • @laural126
      @laural126 2 роки тому

      Please don’t shop at Shein, it’s the worst of fast fashion! Try h&m they are a lil bit better or monki (both have a „for the environment“ line I think for monki it’s called „monki cares“ - it’s a bit greenwashing but still way better than shein) or thrift!! I often find plus sized clothing when thrifting and it’s so much fun and makes your style much more individual!
