people used to make fun of me soooooo much in middle and high school bc i would always bust one out once fall came, but there’s nothing like a slim-fit turtleneck & skinny jeans with some ankle, calf or thigh high boots for me. it also makes my figure look great, so i feel really nice while still completely covered and not feeling the need to show skin. not to mention, bc the outfit is more plain, you can have fun with accessorizing which is always fun. as much as people crap on me for it, i always get so many compliments when i wear that same outfit to this day

When I first got TikTok I felt more pressure to dress "on trend" like all the stylish gen z girls, even if it was not my personal style, but now I'm more in the mindset of incorporating a few pieces that I think I will still wear regardless of if they are on trend or not, like the Realisation Par Pegasus Tee. I've always worn printed T-shirts so that's a piece I would still love, even if it was "out of style". Also got an amazing pair of cowboy boots and I can't wait to wear them!

There are dressy cowboy boots for fancier events like weddings and such, It's quite common to see women wearing cowboy boots with their wedding dresses, there are also cowboy boots that are made specifically for working in, and there's even cowboy boots made for common everyday wear. Trendy is so non-inclusive, essentially saying people can't afford the Now fashion. When people try to match fashion but spend less, it's seen as Fast Fashion ie can't afford the real thing. Burn that barrier, that illusion of beauty for money. Thrifting...AFFORDABLE Thrifting...IS Recycling. Fashion should be what an individual can pull off because of their own personality and charisma. This past summer, after all the “hot girl summer” titles I felt the need to buy a lot of Shein clothes that I didn’t even really like. Now that I’ve decided to go back to my own style and just buy a couple great pieces that I will wear for years and years, I feel SO much better and my anxiety went away. Same. My friend actually asked me how did I choose what to dress that day and I was like... I just avoid jeans (it looks and feels like school uniform for me, apart that's hot and has a very raw texture to it, find interesting cuts/fabrics that are comfy and I find beautiful (other people don't need to agree, I was called grandma numerous times, but some call it style, I just gived up), I don't like anything that presses me at all, anything hot, anything small, anything that it's hard to move in and I don't really like heavy or hot shoes (yeah, flip flops and ballerinas -and I mean real ballet shoes- aren't stylish for most, but they have to work). For example I’m from Texas so it’s weird to hear ppl talk about cowboy boots being trendy or that you can’t wear them when you’re old because cowboy boots are a staple here and it’s not weird or trendy to wear them for anyone. They’re just a normal boot to us lol. For someone who lives in Canada or NYC or London that’s completely different. I want to start by saying that this is the first video of yours that I’ve ever watched but it showed up on my feed and I have to admit I fell for the title. I thought “here we go, let’s see in how many ways I’m dressing outdated” since I’m a millennial and all. But I was pleasantly surprised that was not the case and in fact I own many of those timeless pieces. My style and your style are nor similar at all but I was very impressed with your mindset and overall attitude about fashion. I’ve been seeing a lot of videos lately about this “feud” between Gen-Zs and millennials (I don’t have Tik-Tok so I didn’t know it was a thing) and I think it’s the most ridiculous thing ever. Style is such a personal thing so who can say what’s the right or wrong thing to wear. I really enjoyed watching your video and listening to your opinions on the subject, not just of fashion but on the fact that people love negative sounding videos, me included 😅and I’m glad I was wrong. Love your attitude and vibe! 😁✨
P.s. Im sorry if I assumed wrong that you’re a Gen z since you look so young. Also I want to point out that I don’t really care for these types of labels, I think there’s no reason for them but in the context of this video and my comment I used them 🤷🏻‍♀️😆

I'm Gen Z! but when it comes to fashion classics the "generations" are totally blended, at least I think so!

    • @idiotsandwich115

That has nothing to do with any generation... I hate these names for the time you were born in. Dress how the f you want

  • @Schokiliebhaber

Honestly, I just enjoy your videos so much. You have such a chill and nice energy to you and your view on fashion and style is the cherry on top. It’s okay to enjoy trends and it’s okay to dress different as well. As a young woman living in Berlin, Germany I remember feeling the urge to look like everybody else to be accepted until I found my own sense of style. And now I’m able to enjoy the diversity of fashion and have fun with different silhouettes and patterns and compliment strangers for their style. Fashion is such a unique and fun way to bond with other people and just express your view on life and yourself.
Love you girl, keep up the good work!

I think it's really great how you're mentioning items you've owned for years and still wear to this day. Buying secondhand isnt always an option for everyone so cherishing the things we do have and being a bit more conscious when we shop could make such a difference 😊

Just found you in my recommendations and I absolutely love seeing someone with the same attitude towards fashion! For the last years I worked in the fashion industry and it alone (even without tiktok) is so incredibly fast paced that you sometimes forget about what is a sensible purchase and what is not. Really had to learn that during my time working there and you seem to be exceptional at it too ☺️On a good way to become my favorite fashion UA-cam tbh

honestly ive been focusing more on wearing clothes that suit me rather than trends. For example I was trying to do the whole big oversized high waisted jeans with a small cropped baby top and it just did NOT suit me. I have very long legs and a shorter torso, high waisted jeans make your torso look shorter and legs longer, crop tops also make your torso look shorter. This look can be very flattering on a lot of people, but on me it looks wrong. I had to admit to myself that high waisted jeans just don't make me feel good and they dont look good on me despite being trendy especially with my generation. So I started wearing mid rise skinny jeans again and they look so much better, I also don't wear as many crop tops and rather I wear bodysuits (although some crop tops look fine, the jeans are what make the difference). So mid rise skinny jeans and bodysuits, probably not the most trendy things with my age group but they look the best on me with my tall and thin frame.
thats just one example but yeah, i think its good to focus on what you actually feel best in rather than what looks good on other people.

Agree with the trousers one. I wear them since high school about ten years ago and seldom wear jeans, they're so comfortable. You can pair them with anything on any occasion. That's why I am happy when they're back in trend last year with TikTok aesthetic etc because now in my city I can see people wearing trousers anywhere beside workplace.

I’m happy to say I hardly ever followed any trends. I buy clothes that appeals to me not just cause they’re in. I think there’s only one trend I went by was the ugg boots and the north face jackets back in high school 😂😂 but after that, I dress what matches my personality. It saves me putting stress on myself cause social media is too much to even keep up with. I hope everyone else can get to that level.
