Learn how to make removable top bars for your round bottle beehive with simple tools and readily available materials.

1 Ten pack of 3/8" round wooden dowels (Walmart craft dept - $3)
2 Three packs paint mixing sticks, 5 gal. size (Home Depot - $1.50)
Bubble levels (~$7)

Thank you for these great and easy to understand videos. I only have one question about the hot glue. I live where temps are a hundred plus in the summers. I am concerned that this won't hold up and bees may get trapped in the glue. Have you had any trouble with this issue?

Hot glue stays solid until 250F. If it's getting that hot, your bees have other problems.

Yes they do. In the U.S. it varies by state and even down to the city level. The hive I am keeping the bees in has full frames, not just top bars (OK, I do have a top bar in the small end slot for demo purposes.)
