Colter gives me chills every time I hear him. Like others, I disliked "country" til I realized that this is what real country blues is. What's on the radio is pop nonsense. This has soul, he sounds wise well beyond his years, and shows that darkness that started the whole blues/country genre down south years and years before our time. So glad I came across Colter Wall, Tyler Childers, Shakey Graves, Devil Makes 3, and others that reminded me what real, raw, soulful music is and the power it can possess.
So confused. My son left a Colter CD in my car I've been listening for weeks picturing a grizzled older man. Amazing voice/songwriting talent. Amazing!
Hahahah i had the same experience. Minus the son and CD format. Just love when the body of human doesn't match the voice. Had the same thing happen first time i watched a Meatloaf video!!! Wish my reaction had been taped for that one.

I'm all dressed up in a sun-worn and slightly torn duster coat, wearing a beat-up cowboy hat, shotgun slung on my back and a revolver hanging from my hip. A cigarette hangs from my mouth. I ride a motorcycle from town to town knocking zombie heads, saving lives, and staying just long enough to rest before I move to the next town over. Helping others but ultimately riding alone.
This song takes me to late warm summer nights racing around in a souped up pick up drinking beers smoking weed dancing with pretty girls around bond fires and getting in to fist fights running in and out of trouble ahahahah

this was the first song that got me into Wall. i thought he was a 50-year-old with a lifetime of experience, come to find out hes like 20. blew my mind.
Heard this on Yellowstone the other night and immediately Shazammed it. Love him even more that he’s a Canadian boy. Every time I hear the song I feel like pouring a shot of whisky.
What an amazing and unique talent. This sounds like something you'd hear before a life and death shoot out in Tombstone, AZ at sunset. I'm a Nine-Inch-Nails guy and can't help but wonder how Colter Wall and Trent Reznor would sound together. Hope you get the recognition you deserve and have a long and storied career!!
When I heard this for the first time I stopped dead in my tracks .....I was speechless . Everyone one else pack up your guitars and go home, talent beyond words , you are awesome sir
August 2023. My daughter just introduced me to Colter Wall’s music (The Devil Wears a Suit & Tie). This kid is amazing! This is what ACTUAL country music sounds like! Don’t know exactly what I was expecting to hear when I clicked ‘play’, but it was NOT THAT VOICE! Somewhere, God gets a chuckle every time someone hears Colter sing for the first time. The young man’s face and the 2 pack per day, million mile rambler’s voice are an unexpected pairing, but DAMN! How perfectly they work! I hope Colter has a long and storied career!
This gives me chills I really don’t think the studio versions of his songs do his voice justice. Their so thinly and atmospherically mixed (if that makes sense)
He and Tyler did a cover of a an old song called Fraulein. I was just listening to one of Colter's albums when all of a sudden I heard Tyler's voice. My initial reaction was "no fucking way!" But yeah...throwing Stapleton in the mix would be stellar.

Jeremy Lilly I know this comment is old but I just found out him and Tyler covered a song together, look up his cover of Fraulein, it doesn’t say that Tyler’s in it but he is
I was shocked when I saw how young Colter Wall was. He sings and plays like a much older badass dude. Just bought the CD. My new favorite...
Just heard this on Yellowstone only just started watching it and boy has it got me pausing shazham and UA-cam what did we all do before technology ah love his voice reminds me of being a young kid 🧒 dressed up like a cowboy 🤠 over in the uk 🇬🇧 god bless America 🇺🇸
this was the first song that got me into Wall. i thought he was a 50-year-old with a lifetime of experience, come to find out hes like 20. blew my mind.
Heard this on Yellowstone the other night and immediately Shazammed it. Love him even more that he’s a Canadian boy. Every time I hear the song I feel like pouring a shot of whisky.
Such fantastic singing and playing. What a talent!
We don't care about genres, if it is gut-punch good, we like it.
NiN fan here too but good music is just that -no matter the genre.
Jesus loves you
This guy really needs to blow up big . He’s great ... everyone share this guy plz
My son told me to listen to this. My daughter is a friend of his little sister. Well done ! Your voice is magical!
This song gets better and better every time I listen to it
When I heard this for the first time I stopped dead in my tracks .....I was speechless .
Colter is so underrated! His voice is so unique.
He's from Saskatchewan. I think country music runs in the blood of us prairie-born Canucks.
Between this and The Dead South, I'm inclined to agree.
Once in a while as a musician I’ll tell you, one man comes along that is one of one and god send him . This is him
This sounds like a play out song on Sons of Anarchy. I love this guy’s vibe.
I believe that guy is White Buffalo
Not sure if they use it in SOA but it is used in the series Yellowstone, S4 E3, and I will say it's a pretty fitting tune
Definitely not “The White Buffalo” but does sounds a bit similar!
This gives me chills I really don’t think the studio versions of his songs do his voice justice. Their so thinly and atmospherically mixed (if that makes sense)
Love Love Love…thank you to that special someone that introduced this artist to me…AMAZING…Sending Peace, Love & Light…✨🤍🕊
How he's playing an acoustic that has a gnarly fret buzz and it still sounds good.... Crazy
I feel like the fret buzz kinda adds to the outlaw country vibe, any other music and they’d need a setup on that guitar lol
wow. damn. Never heard of this guy, blows me away! I keep discovering these great young songwriters: John Moreland, Tyler Childers, Shakey Graves...
Arlo McKinley and the lonesome sound!
One of my favorite songs of recent years. Keep it up Colter Wall.
This is so so so so good! I hope this man has a career until he's a hundred years old!
Really digging the aesthetic of this session. Nice camera work/lighting/editing. Overall just really nice feel that puts you there. Nice job!
Oh my God! You are still my favorite! Just cant get enough from your voice. Its something out of this world.
Whoever gave this song a thumbs down, is crazy,or has never heard of Jonny Cash, cus this kats got straight Talent
This guy, Tyler Childers and Chris Stapleton need to do a song together.
He and Tyler did a cover of a an old song called Fraulein. I was just listening to one of Colter's albums when all of a sudden I heard Tyler's voice. My initial reaction was "no fucking way!" But yeah...throwing Stapleton in the mix would be stellar.
You're not wrong.
Modern take on the Highway Men?
and the White Buffalo
James132465 Cody Jinks too
I'm watching his music videos, an I still can't believe this is his voice! Just got introduced to this guy an been loving his music
This song is FIRE 🔥
His voice is incredible 😍
This is the kind of music Arthur Morgan would listen to
And also Marston.
Dude I always thought the same thing hahahah!!! Everytime I hear Colter i gotta turn on red dead after!
Perfect comment
What a talent. It's great to listen to a soul bearing itself out. God bless you Colton. Good luck with your career...I'll be listening.
Great voice, underrated guitar picker.
LYRICS:
Sunshine beating on the good times
Moonlight raising from the grave
String band playing worn out honky-tonks
Pretty young thing going dancing in the rain
High heel lady spitting at the nickajack
Business man with a needle and a spoon
Coyote chewing on a cigarette
Pack o' young boys going howlin' at the moon
Hey darlin'!
Sleeping on the blacktop
Hey darlin'!
Running through the trees honey
Hey darlin'!
Leaving for the next town
Less'n my sense catches up with me
Three dead in a crash on the number four
Two witnesses below and up high
Not sure whose will be done
You can call me a sinner for wondering why
Hey darlin'!
Sleeping on the blacktop
Hey darlin'!
Running through the trees honey
Hey darlin'!
Leaving for the next town
Less'n my sense catches up with me
Corn liquor tastes sweeter in this town
Could it be it's the same as the last?
I swear I've seen ya face elsewhere before
Just as familiar as a bottle and a glass
Hey darlin'!
Sleeping on the blacktop
Hey darlin'!
Running through the trees honey
Hey darlin'!
Leaving for the next town
Less'n my sense catches up with me
May the Lord almighty continue to bless this man so he can keep making these amazing songs 🙌🏽
I had a uncle who had this same style of music in the 70s he was a bluesy guy they tried to get him on the radio but he was too shy never made it big but had some dam good music so I thank God this sound is out makes me feel like he did it .....or at least filter did it and my uncle is 64 now so yes this fella does sound like a 60 year old man with a johnny cash sound
John Daniels cool story
you should get your uncle to record his music and put it up on the internet somewhere. I would give it a listen.
Dude kinda looks like a Country version of Post Malone
(don't worry, that's not a bad thing lol)
I was about to write this too, they’re the same age
I've been saying this
Ironic because Posty is a huge fan of Colter
Fuck no, please don't mention that filth here.
Ones an imposter one is a natural talent
Great talent. Hope he blows it wide open cuzz I’d love to hear more of this.
His voice is so deep, the earths core is nodding its head. From one wolf to another, mad respect my man 🐺
The way he says MOON gets me every time!!
This is real Man's Music to me and I am digging it ! Thank you Colter Wall !
Thanks to Yellowstone that I now know about this diamond.
That voice is goddamn incredible, wish I had such :)
