In Texas, they get well over 100 pounds, as do the blue and flathead cats. I caught a 40 pound flathead once, that thing battled like a beast. Took 30 minutes to land it on 10 pound test

I caught my PB bowfin just downstream of that bridge, it slammed my rapala right at the shore, broke one of the tines off the treble hook and broke the lip off. I have the destroyed lure hanging up as a trophy.

You should try a rope lure for those garr. It’s just like 6-10 inch of rope tied to your line in the middle. Unwind the ends of the rope so it’s just a fuzzy mess. Throw it like a top water. The garrs teeth get caught in it and tangles them in it every time.

I hope you get that Melanistic gar, that'd be cool to see. What kind of gear would you recommend for going after 100 lb. gar or catfish? Just a hunch on the weight of the gar. Only saw maybe half of one and it looked maybe 6' long and as round as a dinner plate.

Biggest gar I ever saw was last year in lake Norfork in North Arkansas. Didn’t catch him but it was at night around 1 in the morning. It was off a dock and I had just gotten done with the night fishing. I took some of the pieces of cut bait that I had and tossed them off cause mom didn’t want them in the fridge while on vacation 😂 but I would estimate it was a long nose gar probably pushing 48 to 52 inches

I used to fish a spillway and everybody I talked to said it was full of huge catfish. I went there a bunch of times over the next 5 years and hooked lots of huge fish, I could never get one landed. One day I was on the motorcycle with my wife and we were close to the spot ,and needed a rest so we walked up the ramp and were looking down and there below me was my answer. The entire front of the spillway had gar about 5 feet long rolling in front of it . I knew that was what had been taking my gear and breaking my line for that 5 years and that everybody I had talked to, was probably in on the joke.

As far as the chicks you can use permethrin. You can spray it on your clothes and let it dry and it'll hold up under multiple washings. You can also have it delivered so that you don't have to drive two hours to your local Walmart to get it.
Also, in the first part of the video: the location it looks the same one of another adventure video, with little water and a lot of turtles snugging you bait .Do I well remember ?
