Costlemark Tower in 15 took me literal DAYS (irl, not in-game) to complete, and the most infuriating thing was that the first time I went in, I had to reload my last save because the Jabberwocky boss glitched just like it was mentioned in the video. I also kept getting trapped in a loop leading to the same floor over and over and over again, and it was a literal nightmare fighting off the same hoardes of monsters repeatedly. And the fact that I didn't even touch the surface of what lurked in the Subterra of the Pharos, 12's dungeon, has me terrified to go back in the next time I play... I only knew of the mark Ixion, and even he proved too tough a challenge for me. I went back in like 3 times in hopes of defeating him, but if Ixion didn't kill me, it was the huge toads down there with their poison abilities ㅠㅠ
FYI: the flan enemies and the ogre-looking enemies in Costlemark tower are super vulnerable to the Death Spell from the Ring of the Lucii, which makes the encounters against them a few seconds affair. I wish I’d known that a lot earlier.
No other dungeon made me feel such despair as The Great Crystal from FFXII. But the Via Infinito from FFX-2 was probably the hardest for me. Just bad RNG was enough to finish you

I’d add the hardest section of Henne Mines in XII. You will need to have obtained 10 espers to even gain access there, then the mine will throw you some of the hardest enemies plus the last esper Zodiark who can instakill your whole party (unless you are smart enough). But it’s worth going all the way to get some of the best equipment, gaining access to Zodiark, remaining technicks, another ribbon, rare items, Zodiac Spear, missing magicks, etc. (In The Zodiac Age version). I can’t decide if this is harder than Great Crystal or Pharos Subterra. All are manageable but hard as hell.
I'm sure it was mentioned in the first video, but just to reiterate: the Omega Dungeon in Final Fantasy X would absolutely crush the unwary and unprepared. Especially the Marlboros!
I definitely regret entering the 15 dungeon with the Jabberwocky at the bottom; not because it was difficult, but entirely just because it took me way too long to finish EDIT: COSTLEMARK TOWER!!!!!!!
I found the enemies to not be a huge issue since I was strong enough, but being sent to the room with the red giants repeatedly because I got the puzzle wrong got super tiring. Eventually, I looked up a guide and found out that at some point in the blocks moving, one of them will be marked by a small circle on the floor and that's the one that needs to be selected to finish the puzzle. Thankfully, I didn't experience any bugs and the jabberwocky died and cued the ending. I do think that fight was pretty challenging, but I sadly can't remember any specifics. I'm slowly making my way back through the game, though, starting from scratch.
I played and beat the og ps2 version back when it launched. Hated this dungeon. But I just had to beat omega mark xii lol. Even using gameshark didn't make it any better. The strategy guide was a requirement back then, too. Accidentally open the wrong chest, and the best spear won't appear later in the game. Silly.

All of the Ascian names are based off of the "Scions of Light" from Ivalice based Final Fantasy games. Their Ivalice titles also hint at their personalities they show in FF14. Also the red glyphs they have over their faces are just the glyphs used to summon the FF12 summons but flipped upside down. Which is another hint of their Ivalice origins. As each Ascian was the counterpart to each Esper. With both representing the same Zodiac sign. As the Zodiacs played a large role in the mythos of Ivalice. For example Zalera, the angel of Death and its counterpart Emet-Selch, the angel of Truth both represent different aspects of the Zodiac sign Gemini. Zodiark is also from Ivalice. With him abd Elidibus both representing the hidden 13th Zodiac Sign, Ophiacus the Serpent also known as Serpentarius. finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Esper_(Final_Fantasy_XII)#google_vignette
Brightmoon Tor, Final Fantasy Tactics A2. Every enemy is scripted to get two turns before you can do anything and they can (and will) haste each other to make that four. Each.
I sometimes wonder if the developers of Final Fantasy 12 were sadists or they thought that all of their players were a bunch of masochists. The ridiculous requirements to get a lot of the rare weapons that often had like a 2% chance of showing up and permanently disappear without any hint that you may have missed them, the massive dungeons like Underground Pharos and Great Crystal that were a pain to navigate, and several bosses that were designed to take hours to fight even if you never died and had to fight them again.
I must be a masochist, as I loved everything about those dungeons and bosses. They really rewarded being smart w/ your gambits and understanding the ins/outs of combat. But I do agree the RNG for getting rare weapons (whether chests or item drops) was HORRIBLE design. That's why whenever I replay the game, it's on PC w/ mods that remove the RNG weapons. Makes the game nearly perfect.
The random rate for chests were not just to appear, but a second value of the contents. So, a low percent to appear, and a low percent for the good contents. Yes, sadism.
Not really a dungeon but the cultists' tower in final fantasy vi was very hard for a 14 year old me playing the game for the first time. It was my first final fantasy game and everything was still unknown. I had never played a game like it before but ff vi is one of my most memorable gaming experiences of my life.
I surprised the Crystal Tower/World of Darkness combo didn't make on here. In the original version of III, there are no save points in the Crystal Tower, Xande casts meteor meaning you have to do some extra grinding to have a chance at beating him. Then the Cloud of Darkness will kick your ass, and the game gives you no indication you can't win the fight so may waste valuable items. Then you are forced into the World of Darkness without getting the chance to leave the Crystal Tower or save. In order to render the Cloud of Darkness beatable you have to defeat four more bosses who are stronger than Xande. The final stretch of the game has enemies that hit just as hard as the bosses you have to defeat to weaken the Cloud of Darkness, who still no pushover.
@@mattmelton7389 Did FF3 just attract sadistic developers? Even the final dungeons of the previous two NES games weren't that sadistic, and someone decided to give the bosses even more HP in the DS versions without fixing any of the cheap difficulty.
I remember that dungeon. Good ol nes rpg final dungeon. It's what I grew up with. God I'm old. But yea I feel your pain. That dungeon was brutal. Jades passage- Pandemonium castle in ff2 nes version without using exploits was hell also.
I spent like 6 hours doing the secret dungeon for the black hood in 15, was up until about 6 am, but I finally got it. Got out, got in the Regalia, flubbed the takeoff and crashed (why was that ever, EVER a thing in an RPG?) and found that it hadn’t autosaved after the dungeon. I was still right in front of it. I shut that thing right down and went to bed. Did it again the next night in half the time, at least.
Thank the Astrals you mentioned Costlemark! Oh my god, it was awful to complete, especially if you hadn't done side quests and Hunts to level up... And the puzzle is super cruel if you don't find the one, single clue...
I would love to see you do a video on the Blaster attack in the series. It always terrified me when late game enemies used it because it always does INSANE damage or nasty status effects
Idk if this would count as a dungeon, but anyone even try to reach and fight Feral Chaos in Dissidia Duodecim? The boss himself is gonna be overpowering your level, even if you're already at the highest, and even the fights are all above max - if not maxed out. You do get a team of 5 to choose from, but Feral Chaos will honestly keep beating you up if he gets a single shot. His moves are some of the most combo-making I've seen in the game, and the boss fight itself is a pain. It took me a few tries to actually finish the final final fight (you actually fight him twice, but the first time isn't near as bad as the ultimate boss), but honestly, it's worth it if you want to control the big bad and hear his theme song in your own battles. Legit the theme would get SO GOOD and then it was like "alright, play time's OVER!". Always got mad when that part would play and then I'd lose, lol. Also, his special move is super insane - and if you didn't know it, you'd think your game broke but it was actually all part of the attack. So y'know, if he uses it or if you do...Don't worry. He's just aiming for THE KILL, lol. My first win was with a low leveled Golbez; Forgot what level he was but he certainly wasn't maxed. Boy got so many levels after that win, I believe. Or maybe not many at all, I don't remember. But I remember spamming the same move to keep Feral Chaos away from me, LOL. Decided later on to pit mine against him at max level, but idk why...I won again, but forgot if it was actually with him or another character... Honestly though, the recollection of FFI's dungeon brought back memories for sure. I don't know what stage of the boss I'm at, but yeah...I'm done trying to finish it, LOL. Feel like I've done the dungeon in XII as well but don't remember the shadow guy. The giant horse seemed familiar though. I wasn't ready for XII's set up so pretty much most of the game gave me hell. :P
I'll always remember how woefully under prepared i was for the Marsh Cave in FF1. It felt like the game really ramped up the difficulty once you reach that point and it's fairly early in the game.
I for one hated the deeper areas of the Henne Mines, where Zodiark can be found. Not only was the place littered with traps, but the enemies were a pain, especially those freaking Heceteyes. On top of that, it's a long trek and there are no save crystals along the way, not even when you reach the room just before you face Zodiark, so you're pretty much going in exhausted and nearly depleted.
"How you're meant to know without a strategy guide is anyone's guess" That was Squenix at that time. Filling their games with unknowable, esoteric nonsense to get you to buy the guide.
I can definitely understand the motion sickness. I too get motion sickness with video games, unfortunately, and have to limit myself to an hour or two of playtime or else I get headaches. I did manage to complete Pitioss, though! I didn't have unlimited time to do the dungeon naturally, so I used a guide. The guide was 40 minutes...my run still took me 4 hours. It wasn't that I didn't know what to do, it was getting Noctis to do it! Noctis was not meant to do platform jumping, lol. My nerves were shot doing that dungeon, and I remember my hands just freezing from being on edge so much. But, if you've played FF XVI and used the rings given at the beginning for things like auto-attack and auto-dodge, you got a taste of what happened if you finished the Pitioss dungeon. Running the dungeon gave you the Genji Gloves for a 30% buff against elemental magic. You also collected a lot of the oracle coins in there, which could be taken to Altissia to be traded for ribbons, which nullified all status ailments. You won't gather enough coins in the outside world to give a ribbon to each party member, so unless you want to babysit one of the characters (ahem, Prompto!), that alone makes it worth going in. Finishing the dungeon gave the black hood. There used to be a hack to just get to the very ending of the dungeon, as the ending is actually right above the beginning, but I never could do it properly, so I had no choice but to run the whole thing. The black hood allowed Noctis to both auto-dodge attacks and he never ran out of stamina. Also by the ending of the game, if you've kept up with Ignis' cooking, you should have unlocked his lasagna al forno. While the Genji Gloves are good, his lasagna provides a 100% buff against elemental magic. The secret dungeons give you a camp site every ten floors and his lasgna easily lasted me through to the next campsite, making me almost over-powered for all of the end-game dungeons.
"People are just exaggerating". Also me 4 hours later fighting back my urge to vomit. I rarely get motion sickness unless it's a fast paced FPS and ff15 managed to be the first non FPS that made me nauseous.
Costlemark Tower was awful, don't know if they fixed it with a later patch, but I had a glitch happen a few times where enemies would spawn on the other side of a wall and I couldn't move forward because you had to interact with a level on the wall but only while outside of combat. Meaning I repeatedly had to sit around for an extended period til a prompt to summon Ramuh would pop up so he could kill the enemies through the wall.
Even if Pitioss had no enemies, it is a nightmare that Costlemark can’t even compare to. Platforming in a game not meant for platforming is criminally bad game design. I say this as a huge XV fan.
I never finished FF9 until about 20 years later because I got stuck in a dungeon late in the game. The enemies were way above my level, and I got too far in by running away from battles. By the time I realized I was completely in over my head, I didn't have enough items or spells to make it back to the entrance, so I gave up until many years later when I got it for PC and replayed it.
Nahh... Pitioss Ruins. Costlemark Tower is difficult, but Pitioss Ruins is hell. I would take on 10 Costlemark Tower over doing 2 runs of Pitioss Ruins. The amount of swear words I said while going through Pitioss Ruins was just too damn high.
Same! Exactly the same, lol. Costlemark was very grating, but so long as you were strong enough and didn't sadly fall victim to a glitch or bug, it was doable. Pitioss Ruins about drove me insane and that was with a guide playing on my phone that I'd already seen several times! Still took me four hours!
The Deep Dungeon from 14 also has two caveats. First, the dungeon is split into sets of 10 floors, and each set has a time limit of 60 minutes. And second, to access the floors 101-200, you must not get a game over a single time during your run, otherwise it's back to floor 1. If you manage to do this while solo, you get a "Necromancer" title. One person managed to do this on every single job in the game.
Yeah, one of the odd things playing the Advanced version of FF6 just after playing the PR was the feeling of just how...tacked on the Advanced content was. Like, it's just extending out the numbers. There's no storyline, no dialogue for most of it, just more mechanics, and even then, nothing new really, save the one dragon that requires it's MP drained as opposed to HP. I can see why the PR didn't include it, since in the end, all it really did was take away some of the players limits, as the Dragon's Den even took away the choices you were forced to make in weapons, as it included an ultimate weapon for everyone, whereas in the regular game, thanks to so many sword users, you had to actually pick carefully who got what.
I have PTSD from the labyrinth of time, I had no idea what i was going into. I entered that place level 76 and came out level 92. I spent a whole afternoon doing it.
If your looking for a hard dungeon in XIV, i would go with The Grand Cosmos in Shadowbringers. People seem to have the hardest time with the first and final bosses.

Ooooh Palace of the Dead. I would never have gotten anywhere with that place without a lotta help from my brother and his friends, who are super experienced with both Deep Dungeons in FF14. Great potential lore tidbits in there, though, IF you can hack it.
I would give a special mention to the Tower of Heaven from Shining Tears. Unless you go into it in the Mirror world and thus are able to put Miao as your main party lead and Elwyn as your gatling gun 2nd instead of having to take Xion, it is an exhausting joyless experience
Personally the Crystal Tower tops my list, specifically the one in the DS FFIII remake. Not because it's exceedingly difficult relative to the other optional dungeons listed, but precisely because it isn't optional that its sudden spike in difficulty really hits you in the face. I think it's the only mandatory dungeon in the franchise where I'd advise a new player to leave it and grind.
Not to mention, NO SAVING! Save points were introduced starting from FFIV because of how frustrating the Crystal Tower was to complete in one go. God bless quicksaves in the PC and Pixel Remaster version.
Well, one of two for sure The cave to get the earth fang, I forget the name of it off the top of my head, is the other one of those locations where it's best to leave and grind, especially if you even fathom trying to kill the enemies in there, just for dark knight job levels and a bit more exp. Also for the boss in there as quake at that point in time to a party that quite possibly isn't even level 40 yet is extremely devastating
Pharos is pretty straightforward as a dungeon really. Its just long. Crystal Core, the dungeon before it, is what should have been on this list. In order to navigate it you have to realize that the names of the cardinal directions are loosely based on English and Sanskrit words (mostly Sanskrit), and that the names of the locations are based on prehistoric periods and plant names like Triassic and Xylem. None of this is communicated to the player, no one except no-life nerds knows about plant anatomy and the order that prehistoric periods belong in, and they dont even give you a map to try to figure it out for yourself. If you had a map you could figure out what the words mean at least.
I did make it to the bottom of the Pharos Tower, and I managed to beat Shadowseer, but for some reason I must've forgotten to accept the Ixion hunt. I said screw it after that point, because when I exited, I went back to Rabanastre and (I guess in my wrong mind) accepted the Pylraster hunt instead. Yeah, no more Pharos for me at that point lol.
There's another game called Gedonia which is quite similar, although being a single man development its very.. uh.. unique in its decisions. It's released and AFAIK, as complete as it's going to get. The developer has moved onto Gedonia 2, but for a cheap price, its quite fun. It has the same WoW/Everquest feel. I've had Erenshor on my waitlist for quite some time, so looking forward to when it relases.
I wouldn’t say I regret it, but Lufia II’s 99 level dungeon is a masterpiece. And if you can beat it without using save states, you’re an impressive human being. Also. Angband. If you haven’t played it, download it. It’s free. 99 level love letter to Tolkien. Punishing as hell, but very winnable…
It's not from Final Fantasy but man "Real Final Millennium Tower" in Yakuza 7. The rest of the game was a relative cake walk. Until I got to that nightmare.
I remember those XII dungeons from HC Bailey's Let's Play, especially that wooded one! How you're supposed to get through there without outside assistance is beyond me! But, I will be tackling Dragon's Den in my Let's Play of VI Advance as I did set out to collect all the Espers in the game after all! Plus, I want an onscreen crack at Omega Weapon! I've beat him before, so I am confident and I do have a pretty powerful setup I'll be using against him! Let's jus say, I'll be hitting him 16 times for max damage! Each round!
FFXI dungeons can be really dangerous due to having high level enemies in them (ex: you are lv8, in the 2nd windurst mission there are lv80+ enemies where you are going). I would say one of the worst to navigate are Davoi & Castle Oztraja for newcomers. Confusing layouts with difficult enemies when you are meant to go there, and worse, TRUESIGHT/SOUND - normally in XI you can get Invisible/Sneak status to hide, but enemies with the "true" moniker will always detect you no matter what.
Solo run of mine got me to 122 then the RNG just went "nope" even in groups its a nightmare if you get unlucky, we had 7 Chimera roamers in a row, thank god we decided to go with a tank and ranged dps to keep interrupts going.
I remember making it from 1 to 50. Feeling so proud of myself .... Then I died to the first mob on floor 51, and said " you know what? I think I'm good. I'll leave it at that"
I regretted entering the first cloister of trials because I didn’t know I was just supposed to touch a wall I put the destruction orb in everything before that including the random door that you retrieve the first orb from had to look up a guide and got really frustrated that I hadn’t tried that
Some of the dungeons in Crystal Chronicles that come to mind are more annoying than difficult especially in single player are Monschet manor with its tribe pressure plates that open the doors, Rebena te ra which makes you use holy a lot and the Desert which you only go to get the holy element on your chalice which requires you to either look at a guide or get hints from Gerdy (or is it Herdy?).
Y'know, sometimes I forget how broken Calculators are, and then I see Deep Dungeon on a "Hardest Dungeons" list. 😅 I remember learning that they don't work so well against vampires, though...
Yeah I remember just trying to get to Jabberwocky was an absolute nightmare. The Dragon's Den was no joke either, far worse than the Phoenix Cave or Final Dungeon. Wanna give a shoutout to XI again for Nyzul Isle. I still shudder whenever anyone says the word "lamp"
I have definitely beat Costlemark Tower and Pharos Subterra. POTD, only got up to lv 50 so far. I pick away at it. The FF12 dungeon I found the hardest though is the deep (Edit) Hene mines on the way to get Zodiark. Costlemark took me like...one full day of non stop attempts to get it done, but I got it done. The only one in 15 I never bothered with was the platformer one.
I've never struggled in the Dragon's Den since i'm the grinding guy. Come at Lvl 99 an learned Quick which too broken for this game. Kaiser Dragon and Omega Weapon are complete jokes if you use that magic.
I didn't end up going into Costlemark Tower for the first time until a NG+ run, It still took me like 3 hours. I can't imagine how long it would take at an appropriate level.
Given that Costlemark can only be accessed at night and then it glows red, I just knew that dungeon was going to be bad news, lol. But oddly, I vaguely remember it not being my final dungeon. In terms of frustrating confusion though, aside from Pitoss, which gets the number one spot, I would say the sewer dungeon that you have to do to get something important for the car is one of my most grating areas.
I don't know that I knew about the 2nd final boss in the FF 6 bonus dungeon, but honestly, getting through it wasn't really that bad. I may have to check on my old save file, if it even still exists at this point.
I know it's not Final Fantasy but one that comes to mind immediately is Tales of Symphonia's Shadow temple...It's my fave game ever (tied with FF tactics) and it's an AWWFFFULLL AWFULLL DUNGEON. It's quick at least but my lord
@12:05 "Which could only be activated after all the enemies on the current floor had been defeated." Wrong. Each floor has a varying requirement of number of enemies killed for what it takes to be able to go to the next floor. I know I've seen as few as two.
I can't agree with any things in FFXV making a list or hardest anything aside from maybe bosses due to Omega being added. The game is just unloseable on any difficulty after you've bought 99 pheniox downs. I loved the game and had alot of fun playing it but difficulty is not even a thought I have when I think of the game.
Unpopular opinion, but I loved Costlemark Tower, it was a nice challenge, long, infuriating, but fair in his unfairness Probably it helped that I came there absolutely overleveled, Jabberwocky and the related trophies for the weapons and the dungeons were the last I had to collect
Did he just say that Costlemark Tower was actually 60 floors….?! Now way… I completed Costlemark Tower, it’s definitely a massive dungeon, fucking grueling and could be pretty damn frustrating, but I had no idea it was 60Floors!
forgot the worst part of deep dungeon in XIV. For palace of the dead after floor 50 if you die at all its game over and you need to start back from floor 50 at max. Plus how you went in is how you have to keep going. So if a attempt is made with friends or acquaintances and the group never picks it back up after stopping on floor 120 that's it, run is dead. you cant keep going solo or with a new group. You dont need to kill every enemy for the passage to open up but once floors get high regular enemies mind as well be bosses in themselves.
Pitoss dungeon(FF15) Not here is a Crime. That dungeon will literally drive people crazy. If you aint good at, lets say finger control 😂 you can get stuck at the dungeon for days, or even weeks.
I walked into Pitioss, went in circles for 10 minutes, then Google told me it's a platforming dungeon with a crap reward... no thanks. I can't do platforming with a character who moves like he's on skates
I wish they put the Dragon's Den in the Pixel Remaster. I would prefer they would keep the extra content from FF6 Advanced instead of being a "faithful recreation".
Pitioss Ruins. I never understood gamers who threw their controllers until doing this dungeon lol. 4 hours of excruciating pain, and that was with following the video guide.

@@sirloinestakegames7866 right but if you used the power trick grind back in the original, gba , an psp versions then by time you went in a single use for fire 2 or ice 2 was enough to one shot them
Marsh cave and ice cave for sure but they weren’t optional
Literally just did this one yesterday. Spent forever going through it only to realize I just didn’t have enough items to make it out of there. Had to redo it and just hop in and out with what I needed. Went back to loot the rest much later.
I had no idea Elidibus wasn't just a one off name in FFXIV...huh I should really take a few weeks to play FFTactics.

It's arguably the best game in the series
That's just the tip of the iceberg of how deep FFXIV really dives into the background and lore of all previous entries.
The Subterra of the Pharos is mentioned. Me: flashbacks to those damn toads 😭
Then the DS version.... that was just unfun.
@@mattmelton7389 Did FF3 just attract sadistic developers? Even the final dungeons of the previous two NES games weren't that sadistic, and someone decided to give the bosses even more HP in the DS versions without fixing any of the cheap difficulty.
That's not an optional dungeon though
@@ytmndman I missed that part, silly me.
I remember that dungeon. Good ol nes rpg final dungeon. It's what I grew up with. God I'm old. But yea I feel your pain. That dungeon was brutal. Jades passage- Pandemonium castle in ff2 nes version without using exploits was hell also.
Costlemark Tower was the first dungeon I did post game and I just remember being miserable while doing it
I spent like 6 hours doing the secret dungeon for the black hood in 15, was up until about 6 am, but I finally got it.
You forgot the Sealed Temple from Final Fantasy 5, the sealed temple is a late dungeon where if you are unprepared, you will be facing tough enemies
Yes
Pitios ruins love! So slept on. It was such great dungeon design!
It is.. I wish they could have done something more with it so it wasn't like Eldin Ring with less Eldin Ring controller feedback.
I'll always remember how woefully under prepared i was for the Marsh Cave in FF1. It felt like the game really ramped up the difficulty once you reach that point and it's fairly early in the game.
The Great Crystal from 12 will forever be my least favorite lol deep dungeon in tactics is rough. Ff12 pharos is rough too.
@@rdphoenix07 yeah unless you are super prepared that one is a slog, but at least it's mapped, that's why it's slightly lower for me personally.
Pharos is somewhat rough, but fitting for an endgame dungeon. Great Crystal is just obnoxious for no reason 😅
@@TurnOntheBrightLights. Sooo true lol
I remember thinking that FFXV dungeon being pretty tough. Enjoyed it though.
Ive never regretted going into a dungeon. 15 had plenty for me to poke around in. Costlemark was quite memorable for me with that final boss.
"How you're meant to know without a strategy guide is anyone's guess"
That was Squenix at that time. Filling their games with unknowable, esoteric nonsense to get you to buy the guide.
Pitioss. It made me motion sick and is the only dungeon I didn't finish.
I thought the four heroes of light was finally going to get a mention in a video lol
FF3 final dungeons are so damn hard, but music there is godly! Eureka in Pixel Remaster is just epic!
Dragon's Den was super tough, but super fun.
FF dungeons can be a horror to play trough ngl
I played through the dragon den in ff6 for the first time a few years back, and that place was real tough!
Costlemark was a pain yes, the menace version was way worse not being able to use items.
*Aurum Vale*
@@leleleclelec5830 eh its not as bad anymore unless its a party full of noob sprouts 🌱.
@@Shane_thePain Now I think the worst dungeon in Dawntrail is the Strayborough Deadwalk. RIP if you're Melee on that first boss. Hell RIP Melee in most of the Endwalker dungeons.
I'm still slowly working on my solo run of Palace of the Dead. I'm enjoying it!
F Pitioss, f it to the Void. It took me days to complete it.
What is the hardest trophy to complete in that game to platinum?
@@promethiac2641 The platinum is easy, the base game didn't had any hard trophies. The dlc trophies on the other hand... That's a different story. I remember how really bothersome ones.
@@georgehouliaras7239 I played it before all the DLC came out. Honestly, I stopped caring about completionist after FF XIII.. Like I wanted to fight Long Gui for the same amount of time it takes to beat the main game lol
It took me 8 hours in one sitting, even with the video guide open on my phone 😆😆
13:32 dyslexics are like "Damn, this candle... It's a'ight"
I love that modern games will still employ this tactic from time to time. The most recent I can think of is Stellar Blade with Eidos 9.
We just gonna over look Omega Dungeon in X? Those damn Great Marlboros were always my bane till I could get a First Strike weapon
The Marlboros were a pain but the dungeon is very short compared to others though.
Well, one of two for sure
The cave to get the earth fang, I forget the name of it off the top of my head, is the other one of those locations where it's best to leave and grind, especially if you even fathom trying to kill the enemies in there, just for dark knight job levels and a bit more exp. Also for the boss in there as quake at that point in time to a party that quite possibly isn't even level 40 yet is extremely devastating
I remember that Subterra from FFXII - I went there and died after about 30 seconds. Enough of a venture for me!
The hardest part about PotD is getting through it without throwing yourself under a train.
Solo run of mine got me to 122 then the RNG just went "nope" even in groups its a nightmare if you get unlucky, we had 7 Chimera roamers in a row, thank god we decided to go with a tank and ranged dps to keep interrupts going.
😑😑😑yesh potd is long..
I remember making it from 1 to 50. Feeling so proud of myself .... Then I died to the first mob on floor 51, and said " you know what? I think I'm good. I'll leave it at that"
Final Fantasy 15 has some hardcore dungeons, specifically some of the weapons you need for Noct. Some of those are difficult to wonder through
I regretted entering the first cloister of trials because I didn’t know I was just supposed to touch a wall I put the destruction orb in everything before that including the random door that you retrieve the first orb from had to look up a guide and got really frustrated that I hadn’t tried that
Some of the dungeons in Crystal Chronicles that come to mind are more annoying than difficult especially in single player are Monschet manor with its tribe pressure plates that open the doors, Rebena te ra which makes you use holy a lot and the Desert which you only go to get the holy element on your chalice which requires you to either look at a guide or get hints from Gerdy (or is it Herdy?).
Noctis The Hedgehog Cave is the most infuriating one
Y'know, sometimes I forget how broken Calculators are, and then I see Deep Dungeon on a "Hardest Dungeons" list. 😅
I remember learning that they don't work so well against vampires, though...
The dungeon in FF15 was hell. I remember doing it in several days to just try and finish it.
You could use knot of rust to mess up the magic pots in 12. If i remember rightly a knot of rust did several thousand damage.
I've never struggled in the Dragon's Den since i'm the grinding guy. Come at Lvl 99 an learned Quick which too broken for this game. Kaiser Dragon and Omega Weapon are complete jokes if you use that magic.
I think I am one of the few who really enjoyed FFXV.
We aren’t few. We are legion. 👍
I may have missed costlemark tower until the end game of 15 so I may have been a little over leveled
Me in Nabudis, doing a Zodiac Spear Speed Run : RUN YOU BASTARDS, RUUUUUUUU-----
Taking on King Bomb at low levels really made me feel alive lol
@@MoniqueBoulangerMSG On Ps2 it was a little bit easier due to the Niho Palaoha+ Remedy Trick.
On the Zodiac Age version, tho...
The Potd is maybe a reference to tatics ogre .
holy shit never thought that FF14 has a Tactics ogre reference with palace of the dead and the Nybeth boss
I know it's not Final Fantasy but one that comes to mind immediately is Tales of Symphonia's Shadow temple...It's my fave game ever (tied with FF tactics) and it's an AWWFFFULLL AWFULLL DUNGEON. It's quick at least but my lord
In FFT, just use the weapons duplication glitch and get everyone excalibur.
@12:05 "Which could only be activated after all the enemies on the current floor had been defeated." Wrong. Each floor has a varying requirement of number of enemies killed for what it takes to be able to go to the next floor. I know I've seen as few as two.
Correct. It's a random amount that resets when you go to the next floor. The higher the floorset the higher the min/max will be.
The Nasty Dungeon Final Fantasy Legend 2
great call out, but FFL is technically SaGa and not FF proper.
I loved the dragon den the only issue I ever have with it is remberinb where all the loot is and trying to rember where Kiser dragon and omega weapon
Dear sir, I regret entering any dungeon at least once. 😂
Correct
Unpopular opinion, but I loved Costlemark Tower, it was a nice challenge, long, infuriating, but fair in his unfairness
Probably it helped that I came there absolutely overleveled, Jabberwocky and the related trophies for the weapons and the dungeons were the last I had to collect
I remember that I had a hard time in that FFVI Advance extra dungeon.
The 100 floor bullshit in Re: Coded.
What about Final Fantasy X-2 Via Infinito?
The FF15 one is funny to me because i dont remember doing it but i do have the throphy that says i beat it for the royal arms
Did he just say that Costlemark Tower was actually 60 floors….?! Now way… I completed Costlemark Tower, it’s definitely a massive dungeon, fucking grueling and could be pretty damn frustrating, but I had no idea it was 60Floors!
Oh god, I've done them all except Costlemark
In FF12, Necrohol of Nabudis is difficult and has no save points and still is less annoying than Subterra or the expanded Henne Mines :v
So 3/7 are Matsuno's (and these are the 3 FFs he directed/contributed to, he didn't miss any)
forgot the worst part of deep dungeon in XIV.
I would put POTD as the hardest just for how time consuming it is, death means start over again and rng can screw you over
Pitoss dungeon(FF15) Not here is a Crime.
I managed to do everything in 15 I was determined to 100% that game
I had fun with the dragon's den.
pitios and costlemark tower was hell in FINAL FANTASY XV
I wish they put the Dragon's Den in the Pixel Remaster. I would prefer they would keep the extra content from FF6 Advanced instead of being a "faithful recreation".
Pitioss Ruins. I never understood gamers who threw their controllers until doing this dungeon lol. 4 hours of excruciating pain, and that was with following the video guide.
