This just happened too me .I pee every hour or more 24/7,it hurts ,my stomach aches all the time .I've been back 6 times ,she gave me an internal examination but I'm too old for a pap smear ,and too old for any hormone, she just sent me on my way ...Am I supposed to live the rest of my life like this ??? Oh I didn't know that I was such an old lady before she pointed it out .....
The mesh operation has caused me so much pain and suffering bladder infections. When all I needed was using Vagifem 10 microgram please get this information out to stop destroying the NHS by doing unnecessarily expensive operations. 🙏😇🙏❤️❤️❤️
Very sorry to hear that Janet. I just posted above that daily Vagifem sorts out all my bladder issues completely. Its just so simple! Unfortunately the standard prescription (twice a week) is just not enough to be effective for many women so they give up and either suffer in silence or opt for some kind of surgery which is probably unnecessary. It's terribly frustrating. Do your own research ladies!
I'm so glad your on here talking about menopause I'm 32 years old I had a hysterectomy now I'm in menopause no body ever talks about menopause at the doctor's office so I had very little knowledge of menopause and what was about to happen I'm currently on the patch it's working good
Women also need to be more confident in ourselves to know when to action and what action to take because it’s our body and we know best ... so listen to instincts don’t suffer in silence and don’t be ashamed to get the treatment that is available
I'm convince the more antibiotics they give to women, the more women suffer from UTI. My UTI was only cured when I started taking probiotics. Now I'm taking Florejen (digestion) every other day (basically 3 times per week) and on top of that, the cheapest probiotic I can find (3 times per week). Florejen used to be $23 and must be refrigerated. Now a bottle of 60 capsules is $32. That's why I take only one capsule every other day and it works for me. I have not had UTI's for the last 6-7 years. I'm so thankful. I also don't get as many colds or flus. I'm not sure what is in the probiotic, but it sure works for me.
Thank goodness for people like you, this video was SO helpful. I had no idea this was happening to me and if it was not for UA-cam and videos like yours I would be totally lost. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Thank you. I learned a lot about vaginal dryness. Didn't know about the connection between estrogen and frequent urination. I'll be speaking with both my GP and Oncologist about treatment options.
Thank goodness you are sharing all this information. I am getting the treatment I need for vaginal atrophy now! Such a miserable ,private suffering that is now being acknowledged🎉
I almost died from the mesh from the bladder sling twisting around my intestines and the surgery done to fix it punctured my bowel! This part of life is definitely a challenge! Never give up trying to keep a normal life. We started with diapers but don't have to end with them! We just need to be educated to ALL our options!
The healthcare trend I’ve seen is elderly women admitted to nursing homes with dementia sped up from chronic silent UTIs (sepsis) that happen from bladder decline in the post menopause. This must be co$ting hundreds of millions of dollars for the healthcare system. Plus families don’t have their grandmothers with them anymore, mentally or physically. Tragic and heartbreaking. 💔Mr System needs to ‘do better’ with education, prevention and early intervention.
Oh thank you so much for this. I have been suffering from reoccurring UTIs and burning when I don't have a UTI. Going to the dr in a few days and now I'm more knowledgeable about what's going on and what I want to try. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you 😊
Vagifem can completely sort this out Tami - but be aware the usual twice weekly dosage is not enough for many women. The Menopause Matters website has a whole section devoted to bladder matters.
@@essanjay8604 what do you do if the Dr won't allow it more than 2x a week? I do the Mona Lisa laser treatment and am now adding vagifem too but she said just 2x a week. Not sure I can talk her into more of it
@@dianasimplifies Personally I'd just tell it like it is - ie I don't feel any benefit if I don't use this daily. Vagifem used to be 25mcg strength so 3 x weekly was often enough. The 10mcg is a tiny dose.
I could go on and on about this video. But to keep it short-- Thank You, Thank You ! I wish you were my doctor. So well explained. Finally, some answers.
Thank you soooooooo much. I feel so blessed to have access to such vital information. I am simply heart broken for the millions of women who have no access to such information let alone treatments. God bless
Excellent video Dr Louise. Thanks to you and my HRT I don't have these issues, but wanted to recommend a video to someone so watched it to see if it were the right one. Excellent, couldn't be more thorough.
OMG!!!! Thank you so much. I have shared your channel with many men and women because I believe we all need to understand better. I really am hugging you for sharing. I have cut meals because told push away from table. Yet I have been explaining I don't eat much I starve until my head hurts still no weight loss...
Took HRT for one year but decided to come off it this sept 2020 so my menopause symptoms have returned however I feel more back to myself a very informative and natural video. Thank you x
I’m glad I stumbled upon your videos! I’m suffering from a bad problem, and am glad to see the products you have mentioned don’t have sodium benzoate, a known allergen. I can’t believe how bad the dryness /atrophy has become, but I have to admit there’s a benefit to that, I now don’t like sensation of anything different. I’ll have to get used to that though, I need to fix this problem. Intercourse has been impossible for several years
I too have been suffering with this for 5 months, spoke to my gp over the phone on numerous occasions because of covid, just given loads of thrush treatment, hasn't worked, treatment for bv, hasn't worked and also antibiotics, they didn't work either, I've missed 2 periods so far which I told my gp, didn't bat an eyelid, I had no idea how bad vaginal dryness was, all my symptoms are spoke about in this video, fortunately I am going to see a gynaecologist soon, so hopefully will get the right treatment for this god awful itching, burning, stinging etc, brilliant video feel like Louise has just diagnosed me 🙏
Menopause has been devastating for me ! Atrophy, bladder loss, memory issues , brain fog and more. I started hormone creams and hope it helps but my bladder still needs surgery. It’s awful!
Wow, what a wonderful doctor. This video is amazing and so informative. Thank you so much for sharing this very important information. It's such a shame that a lot of GPS and gynecologists just don't care enough to look into other treatments, they seem to just leave you suffering. I have given up after 8 months of the same treatment that doesn't work xxx❤
I suffer with interstitial cystitis and going through the menopause nightmare...thanks for the info there should be more out there for us especially at our gp surgery's I have a amazing male doctor very understanding he's known me since I was in my 20s so we have been through a lot together over the years but still we do need more us ladies ..take care all ..
I suffered with one bout of interstitial cystitis back in the year 2019 and it nearly actually drove me to suicide! I don't how you put with continual interstitial cystitis!! Nothing works to cure, that horrible stinging pain, even paracetamol tablets didn't work for me!! The only thing, that worked for me in the end was antibiotics
Please tell them my story you are not to old to to use HRT pessaries the relief was immediate. I suffered for Ten years not being able to hold no more than 2oz of urine after mesh operation and constant urine infections this all stopped immediately. Thank you 🙏 for helping woman from misinformation about our bodies 😱 your a star 🌟
Very informative video. I am an estrogen-positive BC survivor and have problems with vaginal dryness. Neither my gynecologist nor my oncologist suggested vaginal estrogen. I will ask both next time. Thank you
Hi Maria I ask at my oncologist appointment last week also they wouldn’t give me vaginal estrogen cause of hormone breast cancer I’m pissed off cause from listening to this video saying you can use it I wonder are my drs not up to date with all this I’m so sick of my urinate symtoms of menopause I even stopped my aromatase inhibitors because it even made me worse I’m 62 and not happy
Thank you! Just figured out this is my diagnosis! I've seen so many doctors and no one suggested it could be the dryness. The last one even said it is all in my head, but prescribed vaginal estrogen pessaries with probiotics for 2 weeks, my vulva healed so fast. I still had urinary symptoms though, I need to try the long- term therapy. Also I started pelvic floor physio, I thought pelvic floor dysfunction and vaginal dryness are two separate conditions before, but now it just all make sense for me. At first I thought I didn't have the dryness as one vaginal moisturiser I tried didn't help, but then I tried Mucogyne and that really helped. I am so glad I watched this video, thanks again!
I have reoccurring UTI's so the urologist put me on a low dose antibotic for 2 months. I'm very sensitive to antibotics and the only left to take is Doxycycline 50mg. The creams just hurt me. I'm Trusting God he is my creator and healer.
I'm going through perimenoupause and its absolutely an awful experience in a woman's life. I'm going for my bloods done on the 8th march. I'm hoping i can go on HRT to help myself and to get rid of this awful feeling. Amazing lady 🙏❤✨🙏🤗🤗
Thank you so much! I just found your videos and I have been binge watching them. I really thought I was dying several months ago when I couldn’t get out of the bed my body was hurting so bad down to my bones and now it vagina dryness and my medical doctor is no help at all. I am so tired of dealing with incompetent physicians.
Thank you so much Louise for giving your expertise on this subject. I experienced an ovarian mass and had my ovaries and fellopian tubes removed (already had total hysterectomy in 2009). Within days, I went into a full blown menopause. Hot sweats, insomnia, anxiety, poor short term memory and vaginal dryness (discomfort, irritation etc), just awful. My female GP prescribed 1mg HRT (Estradiol) and Vagifem but still experienced Vaginal discomfort. GP recommended Replens but after 5 doses over 15 days, I had a burning sensation that lasted 3 days. Through listening to yourself, Davina and Liz Earle, I discovered Sylk for everyday use which has really helped and I am sooo grateful. I do wonder if Vagifem still works after hysterectomy as I assume the top of the vagina is sewn up? I asked my pharmacist is my HRT was body identical and he said, he'd never heard of it!?
Hi, I hope you feel better. I will be 47 this year. I have been suffering from dryness, irritation and burning especially after having intercourse with my husband. For almost two years I been dealing with this and I go to my doctor and no help at all. My husband doesn’t understand me at all. We have been married for 25 years . I have try so many different lubricant however they also cause me burning and irritation. Now I will try Sylk , I pray this will help me. Now my sex life it’s painful.

I had almost all the symptoms listed and yet all my Dr did was give me urinary incontinence meds which has a risk of dementia! After I pushed the issue of urinary issues, painful sex and so on and concern of the meds I’ve now just been given oestrogen cream but told it may help pain during intercourse but won’t assist my urinary issues. Seems most medical pro’s don’t know what they’re on about. Thank you for the good advice. I didn’t even know I had vaginal dryness until I had my smear and it was beyond painful. My GP hadn’t even checked me out almost a year earlier.
THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU SOOOO very much ❤ you have put my mind at rest. What an AMAZING doctor you are and you explained everything so clearly THANKYOU AGAIN 😊
Always so helpful! Thank you so very much. You may want to discuss the need for fresh veg, lowering sugars (carbs in all forms including alcohol) and probiotics to help adjust Ph. Also what is over the counter for these recurrent issues (UTI, vaginitis, thrush, diaper rash et all) so women can get some much needed relief quickly.
Is acid and digestion problems worse during menopause? Ive started having acid and heartburn started HRT a year ago and having acid reflux heartburn again regularly
Please speak more about progesterone. I started HRT as I have osteoporosis and tried biophosphates with negative results. I was also suffering from depression, anxiety, bladder infections and severe insomnia. So I spoke with my gyno and she prescribed a patch with both estrogen and progesterone. Does this increase chances of breast cancer more. I still have my uterus.

This may be something you don't know. I learned this on my own but it is verified by studies. OTC pain relievers like Aleve (naproxyn) and ibuprofen block estrogen receptors. So if you are already in stable menopause with a small amount of estrogen helping keeping you in balance - and then you take these simple pain relievers it will reduce even that small amount to nearly nothing. And you don't know it is happening. You may have more insomnia than usual. You may wake up feeling sad and depressed. But if you know your own estrogen levels well you can see that taking these drugs for a period of time brings back those symptoms - deep itch, vaginal burning/dryness, vaginal discharge. I am bringing this up because no one could have taught me this I had to learn it by myself. And the doctors have NO idea it is happening. Many women might not have realized that their vaginal and menopausal symptoms began after a short period of taking pain relievers.
I wish you were my gp. A 5 minute phone call chat to a gp at our surgery who is never my own gp, is a total stranger gp, is too difficult. They just have not got the knowledge that you have.
Hello I just started HRT. Will it reverse any of the symptoms of menopause such as Thinning of the hair, stomach weight gain, Memory loss or bone loss dryness and low libido?
I'm in my sixties I found the main cause and relief is being with someone you want to be with. Rather than feeling you have to talk yourself into something you know you're not interested in... just saying. I have had women gynecologists 100% agree with me.

@@ushadyal7838 A vaginal tablet like Vagifem delivers a tiny dose of oestrogen exactly to where it's needed. You use it for 14 nights to preload - then reduce it down to twice a week and see how you go.

I wish I had the words inability to thank you properly for the information you have shared. I’ve been suffering for multiple years and there’s very little information out there to help women navigate peri menopause. I always take a natural approach and so have been very hesitant to move forward with anything my doctor has prescribed. In addition to the vaginal moisturizers you mentioned, I found one locally, “Good Clean Love Restore Moisturizing Vaginal Gel, pH-Balanced, Water-Based with Aloe Vera & Lactic Acid, Reduces Dryness, Discomfort & Odor for Women.” Would it be as safe as the Yes brand and others that you’ve mentioned? Thank you, thank you!!
How much estradiol cream do you recommend be inserted into the vagina? Some doctors say to insert 1 gram, others say use just a pea size! It’s confusing to know whose guidance to follow!
I just wanted to say, Thank you. It has taken 2 years to gather information and that came from YT. My symptoms dryness, lack of clitoral sensation and pain were overlooked or normal. I am in my fiftys, post menopausal, and had partial hysterectomy. When I speak about trying to have a sex life, it’s almost frowned upon. I was just prescribed Yunafem for twice a week for the dryness. My question is will this help with dryness and sensation? Or do I need to accept not having a sex life?

In Canada, we don’t have many gynecologists who are educated in hormones and menopause. It’s so difficult to get help, because every doctor is afraid of hormones, and they don’t want to re-educated themselves about hormones so they can actually help their patients.

@Ashley Jones what did the dsy healer do or say. That helped you ? It from your comment on the vaginally dryness & menapause
Doctor Newson is amazing thank god for people like you and there’s not enough like you 🙏❤️🙏🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The mesh operation has caused me so much pain and suffering bladder infections.
I find twice a week simply not enough I need it daily
Thank you doctor you gave a light at the end of the tunnel
I absolutely love this doctor!!! Such a lovely bedside manner which is unfortunately lacking in this day and age!! I just wish she was in Canada!!!❤
Fractioned coconut oil helps tremendously in the dryness.
Very clear concise & informative video, loved the calm presentation 🌻
I have suffered since having bladder mesh since operation 2011. Thank you for your patience and kindness ❤️🙏😇🙏❤️😭
Especially Medicare before it's gone 2028 money runs out
Always ask whom profits??
Oh thank you so much for this. I have been suffering from reoccurring UTIs and burning when I don't have a UTI. Going to the dr in a few days and now I'm more knowledgeable about what's going on and what I want to try. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you 😊
Vagifem can completely sort this out Tami - but be aware the usual twice weekly dosage is not enough for many women. The Menopause Matters website has a whole section devoted to bladder matters.
@@essanjay8604 Thank you. It has helped and I can tell when it's time to dose up on it. I will try more often. Thanks again
Thank you so much, Sue!
OMG!!!! Thank you so much. I have shared your channel with many men and women because I believe we all need to understand better. I really am hugging you for sharing. I have had problems since my 20s starting with fibroid tumors to so much going on in my 60. Obesity weight stuck after every surgery no to mention medications.
Intercourse has been impossible for several years
Very informative....vaginal dryness is no joke. Trying moisturizers first....
Thankfully I have a very open and helpful doctor
It’s awful!
Fantastic explanation very helpful. Keeping sharing
@Hute Rasford Thank you so much, I will definitely give this a try xxx❤
Louise you give hope to humanity , I hope you are given more authority
Please tell them my story you are not to old to to use HRT pessaries the relief was immediate. I suffered for Ten years not being able to hold no more than 2oz of urine after mesh operation and constant urine infections this all stopped immediately. Thank you 🙏 for helping woman from misinformation about our bodies 😱 your a star 🌟
Hi ! What is HRT ?
@@lisamelgar7743 it's explained in the video. Hormone replacement therapy is HRT
Ditto
What is vaginal estrogen pessaries
@@angelasheppard7411 Vaginal tablets with estrogen, like Vagifem
I have reoccurring UTI's so the urologist put me on a low dose antibotic for 2 months. I'm very sensitive to antibotics and the only left to take is Doxycycline 50mg. The creams just hurt me. I'm Trusting God he is my creator and healer.
Be sure to read the pamphlet that comes with the prescription because they are dangerous.
Hi there what pro biotic did you use? 🙏🏼
I'm going through perimenoupause and its absolutely an awful experience in a woman's life. I'm going for my bloods done on the 8th march. I'm hoping i can go on HRT to help myself and to get rid of this awful feeling. Amazing lady 🙏❤✨🙏🤗🤗
I am going to get your book and visit my doctor to ask for help and gift them the book for the benefit of other women. Thank you.
Thank you so much! I just found your videos and I have been binge watching them. I know I am peri menopause I have all the symptoms I just need help getting to the right menopause specialist to get me on hrt body identical hormones. I want my life back.
My gynecologist also said coconut oil is safe to use for dryness
Yes it’s safe but you still don’t create your own lubricant, sex drive is still low and response levels are still much lower.
Can you list the products demonstrated with links to be able to purchase? I love the video, it's very informative and makes me hopeful for a better understanding & better vaginal health. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge.
I’m 34 and I’ve had all of these symptoms since my 20’s
Thank You So Much~
I'm just getting over one of the worst Uti's I have ever had! My pelvis was jarred after a fall and injuring if my tailbone in the Fall and what you said is going to help me so much moving forward! ☺
Explains everything, thank you so much.
Can you add the products and books you mentioned please? Very good info that isn’t shared in doctors offices.
Hi Julie, you can find all the information over on Dr Newson's website www.menopausedoctor.co.uk/ - there is a huge amount of free resources over there including booklets, fact sheets and podcasts. Best wishes.

Many thanks for your help. I will now understand things that I should have known many years ago.
Its a pity when i see no replies of important questions like this....!
Very informative as always. Thank you.

Just bought some of the Yes VM. I hope it helps.
Can you please do a video specifically for those who have had estrogen + breast cancer and options available? With thanks.
Thank you. My doctor prescribed Vagifem. I was so scared to use it..

Hello
I just started HRT. Will it reverse any of the symptoms of menopause such as Thinning of the hair, stomach weight gain, Memory loss or bone loss dryness and low libido?
Thanks for your video on this subject
Very thorough explanation thank you
I'm in my sixties I found the main cause and relief is being with someone you want to be with. Rather than feeling you have to talk yourself into something you know you're not interested in... just saying. I have had women gynecologists 100% agree with me.
I have been suffering from menaupause symthoms for more than 3 years,i have just starter hrt patches à week ago.i hope it will help me feel better.thanks for your useful videos
If you have distressing bladder symptoms you may also need local vaginal oestrogen as I do.
@@essanjay8604 can talk a little bit more about local iestrogen....as my doctr has also advise me about hrt but im scared of stuff like cancer... .
@@ushadyal7838 A vaginal tablet like Vagifem delivers a tiny dose of oestrogen exactly to where it's needed. You use it for 14 nights to preload - then reduce it down to twice a week and see how you go.
@@essanjay8604 Thku, also want to know if the symptoms of menopause does it last forever like bladder ups and down etc....do they last forever or only in perimenopauase?

I wish I had the words inability to thank you properly for the information you have shared. I’ve been suffering for multiple years and there’s very little information out there to help women navigate peri menopause.
