That looks so awesome, when I do my setup I will be using the Spornia net as well. Great video, thanks for sharing the tips. I really like the chipping net too!
Liked ✔️ Commented ✔️ Subscribed ✔️ I just got the Garmin R10. I use it on the driving range now, but I am planning on setting up a simple and inexpensive indoor hitting range/sim. Great video! I'm considering this net to use with a Skytrack as well. My only concern is that I'm a bad golfer and I really don't want to put holes in my garage lol. Does the Skytrack allow you to get close enough where it is hard to miss the net, or should I be considering the spg-8 instead?
Skytrak let’s you get as close as you want. You just can’t get so close that your club hits your net on the follow through. I think you’re safe but the spg8 just gives you some more room which isn’t a bad option if you have the space. Thanks for checking out the video and for the comment. 👍🏻
@@GolfQuestChannel Thanks for your reply! One thing that made me hesitate is that on the spornia site it says not to hit full wedge shots on the spg7. Are you able to do that without going over the net?
I do but I have hit the "hood" with the 60 degree and it comes back at you a bit... keeps you on your toes lol. But the rest I have no problem with. But my mat edge is basically touched the base of the Spornia net. Works well for me. @@Penly11
You're welcome. Glad it was helpful. The mat is crucial. My main advice is do not go cheap. It will save you in the long run. Personally I have found the fiberbuilt studio mat the best for me (and my joints). I talk about it in my full simulator break down. I'll put the link here for you in case you are interested in checking it out: ua-cam.com/video/97pePtttzhY/v-deo.html
Not far - just far enough so your follow through with a driver doesn't clip the side of the net. I almost have the edge of my hitting mat touching the base of the Spornia net. If you want to see a full breakdown of my setup with dimensions you can watch that here: ua-cam.com/video/97pePtttzhY/v-deo.html. Hope this helps.
Can you set this net up without putting up the hood? I'm considering the SPG-8 and since my ceiling is only 8 1/2 high, the hood would be too tall. I guess I could go with the SPG-7 with the hood but I like the width of the SPG-8. Also, how far are you hitting from the back of the net? I see with your 56*, the ball is only going a few inches above the top of the bullseye. Based on the SPG-7 being 7 ft deep, I'd guess you're 8ft back?
The net leans forward a bit from the edge of its base so I suspect you could get the base really close to the garage door without a problem (maybe even touching). I leave more space as I need a walkway behind mine. You definitely would not need more than a foot buffer but you may not even need that. I just have never tried to put it right against a wall.
@@tomdeming I’m sure this depends a little bit on how tall / long your arms are but I’m 5’10 and my mat is almost touching the net edge and I have no problem even with driver. I have a video on my full setup with some dimensions on the channel if you are interested. Hope that helps.
@@GolfQuestChannel thanks again! I realized after while rewatching just how close your set up is. I’m a bit taller but I think I can make it work. Cheers
How tall is it with the roof on. Will it fit in a room with 9’ ceilings? Do you ever wish you had the larger 8’ net? Maybe for hitting wedges, etc. I am setting up in. The house and want to minimize my maximum regret…no holes in the walls or ceiling.
I'm not around my net right now but I can get the exact measurement a bit later. Having said that, 9 foot ceilings will be enough. I have never wanted the bigger net because I can't really afford to give up more width in my garage. If I had the space though, I would think bigger would be better. I have never missed the top of the net, but I have hit the roof and it comes back at you quickly when you hit the roof - like an old fashioned game of dodgeball lol. Thanks for checking out the channel. Appreciated.
So the front base of the net is almost touching the front edge of my fiberbuilt mat (1/2 an inch). From where I typically place my ball for iron shots to the actual impact screen (which is more towards the back of the net) is around 78 inches. Also, in case you are interested, here is a video showing a more complete breakdown of my simulator space (with some more dimensions and other info): ua-cam.com/video/97pePtttzhY/v-deo.html Hope this helps.
The edge of the base of the is an inch or two from the front of my mat. Just enough room so all my clubs can clear without hitting any portion. The design of this net allows you to be very close.
I should have bought one of these to start. I got a Go Sports one and put a hole in it with a shank yesterday. I also put a hole in our screened in porch. Do you think it needs to be anchored or weighed down at all? It would be sitting loose on my deck.
@@GolfQuestChannel The eyelids, plastic hooks the top piece, the metal support you thread through, didn’t come with rubber ends to keep it from tearing through the rests on either side, the target corner straps wore out. HOW LONG DOES THE NET LAST! THE BEST GOLF NET IS THE ONE THAT LASTS THE LONGEST!! ALL ARE GREAT RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX BUT WILL IT STAND UP TO 1,000 shots, 10,000 shots, 100,000 SHOTS? No one ever evaluates the performance of the net in terms of longevity, which ultimately determines the value!
I agree that how durable it is helps determine which net is best. However, I would disagree that all are great right out of the box. Also, the number of shots it will stand up to will also depend on who is hitting the shots.
Wow mine has held up much better than that and I use mine almost every day. Did you use it inside? Did you move it around a lot? Wondering why you had such a bad experience.
Loving the Kramer picture LOL!

Ya it absolutely would. I'm surprised how easy it is to fold up actually. I thought that would be tricky but it's not at all.
Hey great video.where did you got the side net?
Thank you! The side net is an extension that can be ordered directly from Spornia. Comes in a pack of two (one for each side).
Great video, thanks! Is that a portrait of Kramer?
Thank you and indeed it is sir!
Thank you for making this video. Could you please tell me the distance from the ball to the very back of the net?

What are the dimensions of the Spornia net when set up?

What do you use to weight it down inside since you can’t stake it down?
Nothing at all. No wind to worry about and plenty stable on it’s own to handle shots.
Hi - Do you think this would catch a "skied" driver shot?
I’ve never hit one in the net but I can hit my 60 degree wedge fully. So I would think it’s likely.
One more question, does it take long for it to show up once you order it?
No actually and I'm in Canada. I think it comes from California. Only took a few days. Good service.

For sure that's what it's designed for and all I ever use.
harbor freight. 10 X 16 shade netting hung on a rope between tree limbs. $40 including rope. Huge area to hit at.

No so good if you miss it.
