I am 71 and have a limitation in my body through a bung in my groin due a bad hernia operation. I play off 25 down from 35 and am a happy golfer as I only play recreational golf. After lessons I still had problems returning to the same place when swinging, causing mis hits etc. After looking at stack and tilt keeping my weight on the front leg made a difference however in stack and tilt I could not tilt without causing bodily pain after playing. I then tried Mo Normans swing but the training got too complicated but it did help and then I discovered Jim Venetos swing and that works for me. I can use his swing with every club Driver, 5 wood, 4 hybrid and 5 iron. Using Jims swing my irons PW-6 always have a high trajectory (apart form the 5 iron) with a 10 yards gap between them. This is great for me from about 140 yards out and I always make the green and the shot does not run out more than a couple of yards. I am not a big hitter but yesterday I made 18 over par! For my driver I use the easy swing as it tends to produce a straighter shot I have tried Jims swing and for the Driver it is less consistent than the easy swing with no gain in distance. So this is what works for me and have found that I have adjusted the swing to suit my individual bodily requirements - All in all Jims Swing is the best and I am happy with better consistent golf play than I've ever had over my 4 years of development. My advice is not to over think this swing as it is all about pre setting the body and when you get that right the swing is automatic and easy - I very rarely get a draw but always get a straight ball flight landing on the fairway or green. OMG this has turned into a book

Love the golf studio, very cool to see multiple angles like that. Rather than critique your execution of the method, I would echo the sentiment that signing up for his school is well worth it. Jim has a step by step process and along with his video feedback, given your current skill I'd wager you'd adapt pretty quickly and be hitting powerful, tight draws in a short time.

@@GolfQuestChannel not sure if he still does this, but back when I signed up he had 7 day free trial. One major difference in what you are doing and how his school works is that he would not start you out doing full swings. Given that his system is form follows function, with the set up really controlling the swing itself, it's pretty critical to get in a proper set up position first and foremost. Pretty sure he has a video on swing path drill on youtube, this is pretty fundamental, also.

hi, I've also started trying Jim's swing and what I do in the actual set up is I take my normal stance. As a right-handed player, I do what Jim calls a pivot and then move my right leg back into the punch. By doing that I have a good aim set on the target, try it next time

@@GolfQuestChannel I think your swing looks pretty close to what Jim does but I’m sure he could point some things out. So one thing I’ve been struggling with is my trail hand not being strong enough under the grip and also not enough weight on my lead side (even though it feels like I do). If you watch Jim swing you can see the power as he hits the momentum pulls trail foot off the ground and not forced, hoping to get there soon.

If you want to hit the ball straight, then the JVGA swing is the one for you. As long as your legs and torso stay still while swinging the golf club. You will hit it straight every time. I personally don't use this swing all of the time, just most of the time. For instance with chipping and shorter pitches, l like to stand open, which is the opposite of JVGA,s closed. Another great teacher in the art of hitting the golf ball straight is Todd Graves, who uses the Moe Norman system of the single plane swing. I sometimes use this as well, with the right shoulder tilt back and down to avoid the "over the top" action.

Hi..after watching this great video i was reminded to go back to the venettos basics. Two weeks back i had to back to graphite shafted irons due to tennis elbow.. My irons got a bit wonky so i switched back to steel shafts. Irons still were a bit wonky so after watching this vid and reading the comments i focussed on really being set up like Jim says and focussed hard on really being STILL. .BINGO..perfect shots that had a tiny draw right back to the flag. The Venettos method gets my club right in the slot.

JVA swing does not require great athletic ability or strength. It is simple and just works. I am sure Jim will tell you not to start with a full swing, but to start with his swing path drill and master that drill until you get it right with repeatable results. Then and only then you can graduate to the full swing. I see that he has offered to help you. My advice is to accept that help and then report on the results. This is a superior method for many if not most golfers to shoot better scores with more consistency. I am 71 years old and shooting the best scores in my life using this method.

Aim the club head against the target, that is a left of the pin (depending on you knowing how much you draw). The legs can aim straight to the target if you like, but your upper body shall be closed. To also close your legs in line with your upper body therefore makes it easier. Then you should swing along your bodyline and turn after you have hit the ball. That is; STAY STILL. 😁🥂 This is my understanding. Maybe I’m wrong. Ask Jim himself. He is a nice, helping golf coach. The best. 👍 Give him my regards from Finland.
