long dang Chams were never united only once under Che Bo Nga. Even then he got asassinated because of a traitor. Dai Viet with a larger military under one command invading a people who were not unified and most of the time fighting each other or the Khmer empire.

You didn’t mention Champas start the war.
Even though in the 15th century the Champa people lost to the Dai Viet. Their colony is believed to have formed a new entity in Sumatra around the 8th century under the name of the Hindu Kingdom of Lamuri. Which later in the Islamic period turned into the Sultanate of Aceh. A strong sultanate that could expel the Portuguese in many places in Sumatra and the Malaysian Peninsula. Even though they were finally defeated by the Dutch. They were considered the hardest Sultanate to defeat by the Dutch, which took decades of war and it is estimated that the Netherlands lost nearly 1 billion guilders at that time.

Sir I guess my ancestors were Cham coz I saw in one video where Cham people abounded the cause when attack by the Mongolia and run to the hills and mountains. There is a tribe in northeastern BANGLADESH, INDIA and western MYANMAR called CHAKMAS. who consider themselves as the descendents of CHAMPAK NAGAR,(they fled from there) their king was bijoygiri. Dont know why i feel so much resemblance in champa and chakmas facial structures.
If any Champa people reading this, kindly ask your elders if few families of champa fled to western side and settled there.

The 982 war was a seaborne attack led by king Le Hoan (941-1005). The Chinese diplomats described him as "one blind eye, walks by bare foots, sails his boat to entertain his people, and butchers buffalos by himself during the new year holiday feast (Tet)" . In 995 he built a three meters high octagonal Buddhist stupa. The inscription on the stupa contains Tantric Surangama sutra and the Phat Dinh Dhalany. He also styled himself as "King of Heaven", "God-King", similar to Angkor Emperors.

The 982 war didn't cause the Chams to fled their own country. In 983 an ethnically Vietnamese general in the Cham army named Luu Ky Tong seized power of Champa. In 986 he claimed himself King of Champa and sent a Muslim official to China to sought recognition. Because of Luu Ky Tong's harsh reign, the Chams and the Muslims fled their own country to China, Cambodia and the Philippines to seek refuge.

You are so far from facts and historical geograpy knowledge. The name of Hindu does not means that they are Indians. It was simply because they are Hindu thus their name of Gods of Hinduism being used to denote their faith.
King Bhadravarman was born in Kandapurpura, which is in modern mapping world situated at "Hue" in Vietnam.
He was ethnically Malayo-Polynesian as other Champas.

In Kauthara province in 774, Champa's Siva-linga temple of Po Nagar was assaulted and demolished by Javanese. Champa source mentioned Javanese as foreigners, sea-farers, eaters of inferior food, of frightful appearance, extraordinarily black and thin (quite racist tbh since both Javanese and Cham were Austronesian origin). The 774 assault by the Javanese happened in the rule of Isvaraloka (Satyavarman). Cham record mentioned that their country was hit by ferocious, pitiless, dark-skinned sea raiders, which modern historians believed to by Javanese. Java had commercial and cultural links to Champa.
Until today Javanese (Proper Javanese, Sundanese and Balinese) is the major ethnic group in Indonesia and they played a major roles in the Indonesian politics and military. All Indonesian President are Javanese including current President Joko Widodo.

What is “Vijaya” place in Champa is that same as Sri Vijaya Empire ?? Eh I thought Visayas region in Philippines was named after Sri Vijaya Empire. Why do I feel that Dai Viet was funded & supported by ancient Chinese Empire to destroy Champa Kingdom or the South Vietnam ?? Champa is Hindu kingdom so it cant be India, but only China in the region since ancient time, with the possible greed & motivation to invade territories & lands of its neighbors. That’s how they grow big as Empire isnt it! Just look at China now in South China sea, nothing has really change under the Sun since ancient time.

One against Thai, another against Vietnam, and another against those who can't even be respectful of Cham history. Champa used to rule the sea trade routes in the south china sea. Which was named Champa sea. And Vietnam stole all of it all the way to Khmer Krom and now a lot of their population is there.

The ancient chams engaged in a lot of piracy off the sea and actually even tried to conquer cambodia after they allowed them to flee and settle in their country from the invading dai viet. When cambodia was at its weakest, the chams and the malays from Malacca slaughtered the Spanish and Portuguese in phnom penh and tried to take control of the khmer monarchy. So the chams are not always innocent victims. They should be grateful cambodia accepted them and allowed them to survive and thrive in their new host country.

Cham very close to Acehnese, Malay/Bahasa Melayu, Urak Lawoi. Cham culture and achitecture very similar to Malay of East coast Malaysia like Kelantan, Terengganu, and South Thailand. Like Patani. The Cham temple similar to Patani temple/Candi, Kedah Malaysia and Sumatra. Build in red brick. Cham have less common with Filipinos because not single temple and stone or brick buildng was build in philippine not even ruins. Vietnamese people were originally from China. They basically took the entire land of the Cham and South of Cambodia. That’s so sad!! I know that there are a bunch of Cham people in Cambodia as well.

Nguyen Hoang if you research the major last names like Nguyen, Tan, Tran and many others it will show of Chinese ancestry. Linguistically Vietnamese is so close to either Cantonese or Mandarin (don’t remember which one) that Vietnamese is about 60% the same language. I heard that the easiest language for a person from China to learn is Vietnamese. The Vietnamese writing, clothes, architecture, government administration and the way the military was organized was inherited from the Chinese.

Funan was Khmer not Malay.
Cham people just ran away after their kingdom was collapsed. Funan was a part of Khmer kingdom but after that it became nation itself later on
@@jenniferbator909 What are you talking about? There are firm evidence found in stone inscription written in Khmer language that the Funanese people was Khmer and the people spoke Khmer. The Khmer Funan created the first South East asian written language to ever used. There is no Malay language found in Funan Empire only Khmer language. After Funan decline the Chenla of Khmer just took over and reunited the lost territory and expand further and stronger than before.

@@persianimmortal2869 Cham are a type of Malay. We are called Austronesians. Part of the Malay branch. Nusantara is the term for the outer islands or just all of the western Austronesian places. Cham are just like the rest of malays. Jawa Terrengganu, Rejang, Minangkabau, Malaysian Melayu, Brunei, Filipino.
And they speak Austronesian languages. They aren't Khmer, aren't "Vietnamese", or these "Aceh or sumatran colonies"

I'm sorry you feel that way. But just to clarify, the vast majority of my audience are Filipinos (over 80% as of today) and unfortunately, Champa is not a subject many Filipinos are aware of.
So it's only natural for me to insert some references to the Philippines (based on historical records and years of research) so that they can relate and be educated about the deeper connections between Champa and the islands we now call the Philippines.
The purpose of this video is educate my audience about Champa and the interconnected histories and cultures of Southeast Asia (which includes the Philippines). As far as I know, I did my part in educating more people about the history of Champa that has sadly been neglected in the mainstream narrative of history.
