Nha Trang (The Champa territory of Kauthara)
-Kauthara was home to much wildlife including tigers, elephants, and had abounding fish
-In the 4th Century CE the Kingdom of Champa embraced Hinduism
-The Chams dedicated the temples to the Hindu god Shiva and to Champa god-kings
-This tower (Po Nagar) was dedicated to both Hindu and Buddhist deities; built before 781 CE
-The religous offerings and prayer performed inside the temple
Phan Rang (The Champa Panduranga)
-Panduranga was the last Champa territory to be annexed by the Vietnamese in 1832
-The first signs of Islam appeared in Champa around the 11th century likely due to influx of Arab, Persian, and Gujerati traders
-The tower of Po klaung garai may have been built at the end of the 13th century
-Legend has it the Khmers to the west tried to invade Champa. The Champa King settled the matter with a tower building contest. The Chams won with this tower
-The ingenious use of red bricks without any binding mortar still befuddles archeologists to this day
-The Cham script evolved from the influence of the Brahimi script from India
Mui Ne (Still within the Champa territory of Panduranga)
-Mui Ne is known as the resort capital of Vietnam with scenic beaches and sand dunes
-The temples of Mui Ne were built in the 8th century and are among the oldest standing today
Majority of Hindu Chams were assimilated into today Vietnamese in the South. Majority of Muslim Chams have left for Kemboja after the invasion.

The Cham and people in Central Highlands are indigenous people . They had been the victims of many wars between southern and northern of Vietnam . The both sides of Vietnamese were disputed of indigenous lands in the Central regions . Cham and the Central Highlands people weren't only victims of war , but also victims of contempt and racism .
If anyone never been here I recommend to go, is so beautiful and also sad at same time.

Ran into a group of Cham tourists from Phan Rang up at Dalat in 2012. The group included both Cham Bani (Muslim) and Cham Kfir (Hindu). Obvioulsy no animosity between the two. During the Vietnam (North South) War the Cham had a company of paratroops in the Nha Trang MIKE Force who were respected. The company scarf was green, with arab writing identical to that on the Saudi flag. In any event the Lam Dong museum in Dalat has a display on the 7th Century Hindu temple discovered at Bao Loc. Cham?

I always believe Cham and Indonesian ancient kingdom have a very tight relation since 4th century. Your video shows Hindu-Budhist temple very similar to ours. I think Cham are look more malays than the other tribes in the area. And there are many words have same roots

Brick masonry brought from the middle yangtze river into southeast asia long ago... the archaeological cultures are to be better understood. The earliest fired bricks appeared in Neolithic China around 4400 BC at Chengtoushan, a walled settlement of the Daxi culture. These bricks were made of red clay, fired on all sides to above 600 °C, and used as flooring for houses. By the Qujialing period (3300 BC), fired bricks were being used to pave roads, walls and as building foundations at Chengtoushan.... southeast asians are descended from multiple baiyue groups... one of them seems to have developed love for bricks, were they austronesians? Probably not, but a previous culture with unknown language absorbed by invading austronesians from coastal neolithic china in both vietnam and Nusantara. Haplogroup O3d, found at high frequency in the ancient Daxi site in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, is very rare in living people, except in the Hmong-Mien population of southern China and Southeast Asia. This suggests the ancient Daxi migrated south and became the ancestors of the present Hmong-Mien or the hmong-mien people absorbed others that came before them

Oh gosh!" Champa people (Champ) are not Khmer but they are in Malay Race. How can they are Khmer cuz they were also genocide victim by Khmer rouge. Just read their ancient places' name and learn their language and culture. Nowadays they are Muslim, they migrated to Cambodia and developed community there called Kampung Champ that is mean Champ's Village. Even some of them migrated to Malaysia and have a several business here..

Perhaps the name "naga" at the bedil suggests that champas were a part of ancient nagawangsa kshatriyas in the mainland south east asia (swarnabhumi) while the other refers to Funanese-Cambodians.
