    And thank you as well for your Service, too, Jeremy!! Merry Christmas to you and yours!! God Bless!! I have been a Ham Radio operator since I was 8 years old, building transmitters and shortwave Class B linear power amps in all those years. After 22 years, and my USAF military retirement from flying the President, I transitioned to a radar tech for some 26 years, tracking test ICBM's launched from Vandenberg AFB....With all that electronic tech history, I SO appreciate seeing a GREAT TECHNICIAN AT WORK! ...and you are THAT MAN, JEREMY!! You are DEFINITELY a CLASS ACT!! Thank you for updating me on all the latest developments in Lithium batteries, as well!!

    Great stuff man! I use a Bass Pro tracker lithium 12v/12ah battery for my fish finder on my little 14 foot Starcraft. Its in a Bold North Outdoors battery station box. I also run my anchor light and nav lights to it (wired thru a fuse panel of course). It does fairly well for a 12ah but sometimes I pull all nighters fishing for Flathead Catfish and I need more juice. I just discovered that Amped sells a 19ah battery that is the same case size as a 12ah! Which means it will fit perfectly in my Bold North Outdoors battery box. Totally awesome however on their website it says currently out of stock. Definitely keeping my eyes open for that to be back in stock so I can purchase it. 12ah to 19ah that is the same size allowing it to fit into my battery box is good news. I also use it for ice fishing. Furthermore great content brother, I was going to buy the Norsk 15ah but your videos have encouraged me to wait for the Amped to be back in stock.

      @@iceholepower8012 Exactly, I think now that both are made in China and are close in quality the Amped is a better "deal". Or at least not a bad purchase. A lot of people went with Dakota because it was made in USA and thought that also came with better quality controls. My 18Ah Amped was $70 cheaper than Dakota. Bioenno is also a battery that I'd buy again.

      @Wild Urban Adventures ender. Ender 3 pro or v2 is an excellent choice for a first printer. Theres tons of tutorials, parts, settings, and everything else needed to get started.
      I have used my first ender 3 to make transducer adapters for my kayak, rail mount accessories, campind needs, and tons of other stuff (including lower receivers). One of the ender 3 is my kids now. It has opened them up to a world of STEM and they love it.
      At the beginning of the school year they can be had for $99 and microcenter throws in a spool of PLA.

    gREAT VIDEOS, THANK YOU FOR THE INFO. i WAS WATCHING ANOTHER CHANNEL AND THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT CYCLES AND EFFECTIVE CAPACITY. Dakota is Lithium IRON and Ampd is Nickle something. Lithium iron has 4000 cycles and 98% drawdown while Nickle has i think a 1000 cycles and 80% effective capacity. Could you please comment on this. I just bought a Garmin 75 echomap with lv34 livescope for icefishing and would like to make the best battery choice I can to run this for weekend fishing trips.

    I currently have livescope (both black box and graph) connected to my crank battery in the back of the boat. I'd like to connect directly to the AMPED without modifying the connecting hardware (clamp, wing nut, etc) so that I can easily toggle between the crank battery and the AMPED. I'm wondering if there is a way to extend the AMPED terminal to where I can connect the livescope cable to it just like I do within my crank battery. Thanks

    What’s keeping theses batteries from lasting 29-30 years ? The average Joe may charge their battery 30-50 times a year . How does time effect them ? Do they have a shelf life ? What about the chemicals and components that you can’t see , like the lithium and phosphate. How does the quality of those differ . For example, I have bought a lot of ryobi battery tools , this was before the lithium battery. They were basically junk , disposable at best . However the same type of battery chemistry from brands like Makita and Bosch lasted sometimes decades. I’m curious to know if the lithium phosphate material itself not all created equal Thank You

    Hi Jeremy! I just bought and received the Amped 18ah and Deluxe DIY Box. Thank you! I’m super impressed with your kit. I added in the 3amp charger and SAE port as well. I planned to someday add a solar charge controller and solar but I saw that the Amped BMS talk to each other. When the Amped battery is fully discharged, you need the Amped charger to reset the BMS. Is there a way around this? Can I just be careful land not fully discharge the battery, and if I do, only use the Amped charger to start the charging cycle?

    We keep our boat in a boat slip setup to charge all batteries with one electric cord with the different chargers we have on board. Our question is we have a amp outdoors 18 ah with amp outdoors charger. Does it hurt to leave the charger plugged in after the battery is finished charging from a day of fishing and the temp drops below freezing at night. The battery gets charged every time we come in from fishing every week or so. The battery runs our Live Scope. The battery is always finished charging by the time we have any freezing weather. We live in the south so we don't see very much freezing weather. Thanks for your help

    • @iceholepower8012
      @iceholepower8012  2 роки тому +1

      I would say you are good to go with that setup. Just don't want the cells to be below 32 degrees while charging. If it is done charging before that happens then leaving it plugged into your charger should be fine because the battery charging circuit would of already opened.

    Did a capacity test of the amped outdoors new 15 ah lifepo4 and only got 12.76 ah with a total of 164 watt hours...total drainage time took 10 hours 16 min at a 1 amp load. Can you review the 15 ah 12 lithium battery please? Ending voltage is 12.14 volts. Top charge was only 13.6 volts while the other two peak at 14.2 volts fully charged. What is going on? Please help!

    I appreciate your reviews and the effort/expense involved but I don't understand your description of series/parallel. How can you have 18650 cells "6 in series"? The nominal value of a 18650 is 3.2V and a fully charged is approximately 4.2V maximum. Therefore, 6 in series of a fully charged 18650 would be 6 X 4.2V or 25.2V...then those in parallel would yield a battery, fully charged, of 25.2V. Please clarify or correct me. Thanks.

      I had to rewatch my explanation a couple times after seeing your comment. It is a 4S6P pack meaning we have 4 series cells, each are made up from 6 cells that are in parallel. When I said "those 6 are in series with those 6" I meant the 6 cells that are in parallel are in series with the 6 parallel cells next to it. I appricate you watching and I will work on polishing up my explanation!

    How long for it take to charge this battery when you first got it, and then after running it down like you did in this test? What is the battery loss overtime, while it’s setting sting waiting to be used, if you know?

    • @iceholepower8012
      @iceholepower8012  2 роки тому

      Great questions! Like all lithium batteries, they are shipped with a 30% charge. 30% of a 12ah battery is 3.6. We recommend the Amped 3 amp charger so we will use that in this example. The difference between 12 and 3.6 is 8.4. So when a guy first gets the battery and uses an amped charger it will take 2.8 hours to charge it. 8.4/3amps=2.8 hours.
      If the battery was fully discharged we would calculate the charge time by taking 12ah/3amp charger = 4 hours of charge time.
      And the charge loss overtime with this chemistry is very very low. Like 2-4% per month. Thanks for watching!

      @@iceholepower8012 Thank You, your content and information has been a Significant Help in with understanding these Lithium Batteries are made, there Quality and there function. Right now I'm pretty much sold on the Amped Brand for the Quality and Cost. You also helped me in regards to my Helix Fish Finder battery. I was using just a Naqua, but, after watching your previous videos I'm going to not run this pouch style battery and instead just go with the Amped 12V 12AH battery, your info sold me 100%. If you do choose to run parallel, again NOT recommended, then.
      Parallel: Also, measure the internal resistance of each battery and only use batteries with closely matched internal resistance. It is highly recommended that resistors be used to achieve equal internal resistance among multiple batteries. It is also highly recommended to add fuse(s) to the circuit for safety reasons.
