I saw another comment about struggling to cut out distracts like family and responsibilities. I also struggle with this and would love to hear your thoughts!
This is such a lovely exercise 🥹 although I’m struggling to cut out and tear up distractions, as they are mostly chores, caretaking, physical activity for health reasons and things that are more responsibilities which take up most of my day 🫣 would you recommend perhaps an alternative way of dealing with this type of distractions? Thank you ❤ I’ve done two of your exercises just now, didn’t realise how easy it would flow and pour on a piece of paper
I would love to hear her reply to this as I’m struggling with the same thing. Recently I read a book from the Bible called Luke, where Martha is frustrated with her sister Mary for sitting at the feet of Jesus listening to his wisdom rather than helping her with the chores. Jesus pleads to her, to “not worry over so many worry things. Mary chose the better option”. It hit me that, cleaning and most responsibilities just don’t serve us like taking some time for our true needs and desires. I’m a clean freak and my family are completely opposite, so I often feel stuck with everything.. but I constantly miss opportunities and moments to please my true purpose. Maybe the answer is, to really prioritize. Responsibilities are unavoidable, but we can push them to the side for brief times, to fulfill our callings and listen to our inner wisdom. I hope that helps somehow 🥲
@@AyaSmith thank you for your kind comment 🙏 I’m still working on the issue, in fact it got amplified lately 😅 perhaps drawing my full attention to resolve this for once, praying definitely helps to clear and calm the mind
@@AyaSmith in lieu of what you are saying, I would suggest a reprioritization. Perhaps cut those things out and paste them onto another sheet of paper in a way that prioritizes those things and perhaps try to reframe what you wrote - for example "caretaking" already has a negative connotation - is there a way to reframe that into different language that is more gentle and compassionate?
I love the way you explain. Thanks for sharing your love to art as a healing and joyful tool to the world.
