- In this video I try to give you as many tips as I can think of to catch more trout and read the water. While I did not catch as many fish as I would have liked if you use these tips I guarantee you will catch more trout over all.
No matter if you are going for Rainbow, Brown, Cutthroat or Brooke trout knowing what to look for when you are reading a river is key to catching more fish every time you go out.

Just went fishing today on the upper part of provo river. Me and my friends are not the most lucky. We tried so many lures of different, sizes, shapes, and colors. We didn’t go in the best spots but we tried! Thanks for the vid.

I fished this portion of the lower a ton when I was a kid in the early 90s caught 1 fish! A 24 inch brown. Never been back. And stopped fishing for 25 years. For the last two months I have gotten way into fly fishing and have spent dozens of hours in Provo canyon. It is so hard!
It's interesting what one can learn in a year of fly fishing. It's become way easier to catch fish on the Provo River now. It's rare that I go and do not catch a great fish!

At the pump house your 200 ft up stream and 300 yds downstream of any place where trout are found. Thanks for all the blue fox lite. I get a couple a year for where you were fishing.
I have caught trout around that log.
I watched this again and it amazes me you don't know where your at. THE SUN DOES NOT SET IN THE EAST. the mountains you say are pretty are EAST of where you are at.
That is a mink, not a muskrat. I've watched them for years in there.

Wow that's beautiful there. Man I miss the streams out fishing. But I'm glad you made this video I'm gonna share on my FB page. I was gonna talk to few channels I follow on fishing channels. But post on my channel but one don't no how. Lol. But I didn't want anyone to get upset if I asked and or posted on my channel so I just post on FB. But great video nice lure I wish we had trout rivers hear. But there's pay pond they stocked trout. But it's so hot don't no if they lasted. But be cool to go catch some. @@HighAltitudeBrands yes sir I did in mich can't do the fly rod to good dad could. But I miss it. And salmon OMG I miss that so bad. Lol. But have you always used spining reel and is that why you sell these kinds rods to get thru the woods better due to trees and all.
@@HighAltitudeBrands o what size reel should I out on this rod. I have a nice reel on my other rod like that. My older ones I have got small reels. But the newer one got nice size not big not small. But would you recommend like 2000 series or 2500 or smaller like little bigger than ice fishing reels. Which I like them I have story about ice fishing rod and reel that happen when I moved to Louisiana if you ever want to hear. It's not to long. Believe me I can write to much. I was just told message to long had to cut in half lost 2 times. Which I'm sorry it's on my other comments on that vidoe. I fill bad but he got to me I had to say alot. Lol but yes I'm sorry.

Lots of parking areas. Check Google maps satellite to find them.
What size lures do you use for trout?
Anything that they can get into their mouth. Today I caught an 11inch brown on a size 24 fly hook…wasn’t even as long a my little finger nail.

Man Utah Is ussually always fished out or I just suck at fishing or I need to go more into the river I only catch a fish once in a while in provo
