Funnily enough I was out that way on Saturday, cutting through Fernworthy, but up over Thornworthy Tor, and then over to Sittaford Tor, stopping for lunch at the Grey Wethers stone circles and then on to Stannon Tor; eventually enjoying a pint of Guinness 🍺 at the Warren House Inn before heading home to Tavistock. Sounds like a cracking route Pete, especially my favourite, Grey Wethers, and then of course the pint in the best pub to finish 😂 The app I use is surprisingly free, it’s called Merlin Bird ID by Cornell Lab, it’s a great app
Hi, yes, there’s a huge area on Chagford Common which is permitted for wild camping, plenty of flat sections which would be suitable too. There a map showing where you can camp on the Dartmoor website 😁 www.dartmoor.gov.uk/about-us/about-us-maps/camping-map
@@dartmoorlife thank you, I usually camp around Okehampton and princetown. Gonna be my third week in a row travelling from Berkshire to Dartmoor and want to check out the area around the inn.. I always check the map and I’ve noticed that the area around the inn has bern reduced among other places.
