Fantastic video old friend.
@alkazamperth1787 thanks Al 😊
My daughter and I were so inspired by this video that we drove down to Dartmoor from Birmingham last weekend for a wild camp. Weather wasn't quite as nice as yours! We gave a shout out to you at 1m48, but couldn't remember your channel name. Gave a link tho 👍 ua-cam.com/video/oPNK6LfjZX4/v-deo.html
@@CampingSecretsUK That's brilliant, that's really made me smile, thank you. I've just subscribed to your channel and will watch that video later in my break 😁
Please excuse the loud music. For some strange reason, the edited music reverted back to the original volume after saving it. A silly mistake as I didn’t do a final check 😢
Great video again. I camped just up past the waterfall last year after walking from Postbridge and walked back via higher White Tor camped there as well . I must check out the stone circles though. 👍
@@stevedamerell2783 thanks Steve. Yes, definitely worth checking out the stone circles when you’re in that area again😁
Great video, re-discovering an ancient monument -- how many more monuments to our past remain to be found? Keep up the Good Work and Good Luck.
@josephwarra5043 thank you Joseph. I also often wonder how much more there is to be discovered on Dartmoor. Happy hiking 😃
My first Dartmoor camp was the north side of little mis, Halloween night 2022, The only horror I witnessed was the rain😂
That's the side I wanted to camp but the wind was awful when I went recently, I managed to find the only flat spot on the other side of those rocks😅 Did you park at the church? Another great video👌👍
Thank you 😁😁😁 It was also very windy when I was there, luckily I managed to find that spot, sheltered from the worst of the wind. I parked just down from Prewley Farm, took a lovely walk around Meldon before heading up to the tor
@dartmoorlife the route you took looked amazing, sadly I'm unable to walk that far at the moment, I parked at okehampton train station & cycled down the granite way directly to Sourton. I'm reasonably new to the north moor but the scope for camping in the area is incredible, Keep the great vids coming👍
Another top video, a pleasure to watch👍
@Mrsmith74 thank you Mr Smith 😁
I'm a new subscriber - loving your content! Can I ask where you grew up? You don't sound traditionally Devonshire to my ears - apologies if I'm wrong!
@@CampingSecretsUK Hi, thank you 😊 Regards my accent, I was born in Plymouth, also lived in Scotland for 12 years, and now back again, so my accent is a bid odd 😆
Red Lake and the history of it please. I used to love going camping there years ago. The china clay and railway history is interesting. Thank you for your excellent videos 👏
@@HiyaEverybody. I'm looking to do a wild camp there soon, hiking from Ivybridge along parts of the Puffing Billy rail track as well as all the history along the way 😊
nothing like the sound of a stream to sleep to, keeps my ringing at bay.
You’re the same mate? It’s was so good listening to the river 😁
@@dartmoorlife ringing in the ears years, to be honest I think I just turned into the normal sound that the auditory nerves make.
Ah been to Fernworthy van camp at the reservoir but didnt know about the others need to go😁
Another excuse to go back again 😂😂😂
@@dartmoorlife Too right😃😁
Great new video😊. Thank you for sharing your hike and wild camp. I know what you mean about Grey Wethers. I love that spot and did a hike to it and Fernworthy from Postbridge and over Hartland Tor last month👍🏻
@@paf210767 it’s an amazing place mate. Was a great camp. Although I loved it, I much prefer a tor camp 😊
Cracking video, and such a beautiful place to camp
@@robmulcahy317 thank you Rob, it was a cracking spot 😀
@@dartmoorlife Do you know if you can park in Postbridge Car Park for 24 hours or longer?
@@robmulcahy317 I’m sure you can, I parked there a couple of years ago for an overnight camp
@@dartmoorlife Great. Thank you
Superb video 👌🏻
@stevedamerell2783 thank you 😊
You are amazing Love the vids
Thank you 😊
Really enjoyed the watch, hope to run the race this Sunday
Brilliant, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did Alan, its an awesome race
Need to go see that Tor
I've always loved the look of this tor, but being on private land is a pain 😢
Great clip!
Thanks Al 😁
I’m looking for my first camp on Dartmoor. Brilliant information. Very helpful. Thank you
Fantastic Rob, I hope you have an awesome camp wherever you decide to go 😁
@@dartmoorlife I definitely will. I’m only worried about leaving my car. But get the first camp out of the way, and I most probably won’t worry about it as much😊
@@robmulcahy317 I've camped on Dartmoor loads over the last couple of years and never had a problem. I usually open my glove box to show there's nothing worth taking
@@dartmoorlife That’s reassuring thank you.
👍
Thank you Graeme, I always learn something new about Dartmoor watching your videos. 😊
First!
I loved this! I’m so interested in stone circles. Thank you. I subscribed ❤️🤗🐝
Thank you Deborah 😁
@@dartmoorlife You’re welcome❤️🤗🐝
What an absolute delight! Great photography and production, so glad to have stumbled upon your work! Proper Job! Subscribed!
Awwww, thank you very much, I’m glad you enjoyed it 😁
Great video, i traced my family back to Sheepstor in the 17th and 18th centuries. From 1750-1810 they owned Narrator farm that was below where you camped and the reservoir. We made the journey from Australia to Sheepstor in January last year. We didn't get up on on the Tor or Ditsworthy so thank you very much for the views. Best Wishes 👌
Wow, it's so good having your history so far back Mark. It's a beautiful area to have lived
Great video! It’s a beautiful section of the moor!
Thank you Dave 😁
Great Mis is one of our favorite spots!
It's a cracking tor isn't it. With amazing views too 😊
What were the purposes of these stone circles? New subscriber here. So interesting!
Hi Rebecca, thank you very much for subscribing. Unfortunately, the purpose of the stone rows or stone circles etc isn’t known, there’s many theories, but no known evidence. Imagine if you could travel back in time to see what they were actually used for, that would be awesome ☺️
Camped there for the first time last weekend - a brilliant spot!
Great video and how lucky were you with the weather! One day I'll get something dry and sunny 😂
Very lucky with the weather Mark, especially with the amount of rain we've had this year. Fingers crossed for you to get some decent weather on your next visit to dartmoor 🤞😂
Hi nice video ive just done first camp of year on dartmoor where i live im a new channel just subscribed yours have a look at mine if you want all the best🤟🤟
Another great vid! So many amazing tors in merrivale you can't go wrong, sweltor quarry and Kings tor have just been re added to the camping map. But I agree, great mis is epic! Always somewhere to camp out of the wind👍
I am getting ready for my first wild camp on the moor. Great Mis Torr was on my short list but you might have just decided it for me. Many thanks.
That’s Brilliant David, I really hope you have a fantastic camp. Would love to read another comment after, to say how you found it. Enjoy 😁😁😁
@@dartmoorlife Just got back from my first Dartmoor camp on Great Mis Tor. The red flag was flying so I stayed well away from the range on the west side of the Tor. There was no firing while I was there, so all good. Where next?
It was great to meet you! Glad you enjoyed the camp, we couldn’t have had better weather! ☀️
Likewise Harry, I hope you had a fantastic time in Newquay 😁
Fantastic video mate, lots of useful information. I'm glad the weathers finally allowed you to get some wild camping in.
Cheers mate, was perfect conditions, at last 😁
Nice looking wild camp, must say i agree about getting bored on winter camps and it don't help my arthritis 😕 tend to car or van camp now
Ahh, I’m not the only one then 😆
It would worry me leaving my car in that car park overnight .
I know what you mean Simon, I worry leaving my car anywhere overnight on Dartmoor. But thankfully, I've never ever had a problem, and fingers crossed I never will 😁
Had my car broken into at Kennick reservoir whilst I was trout fishing in a boat some years ago.
Great video. Beautiful weather I’ve been there several times always thought it would be a great spot to wild camp for the first time. Love the channel. 😁👍
Thank you very much Barry, yes, it's a cracking spot 😁
Your videos just keep getting better and better Graeme. Beautifully filmed as usual with your infectious mix of enthusiasm, facts and history of our wonderful Dartmoor! Thank you for the time and effort posting your videos. Truly inspiring 😊👍🏻
Thank you so much for your kind comment Pete, I love filming them as much as I love editing them. Many thanks again 😁😁😁

Thanks Eden, have a great weekend 😁
That was a very cool entrance! 😂
Haha cheers Pete
Keep up the amazing work 🎉you are always incredibly positive and jolly 😊 and very educational as well as entertaining to watch!!!
Awww, thank you for your kind comments 😁
Why would you think anyone would want to see you skinny dip, or naked? If anything, put MORE clothes on
Just found your channel from Facebook and really enjoyed the content. Dartmoor is my favourite place to visit so thank you for sharing your videos.
Thank you very much Mark, same here, its my absolute favourite place to be 😊
They discovered a recumbent stone circle in the early 90s in sth Lanarkshire, Scotland, while making a new motorway. I'd love to see a drone of that.
It's always interesting to see from above. Hopefully someone will record it with a drone sometime and you'll get to see it. If I lived nearby, I would have filmed it for you 😉
thanks for showwing me places i could never now visit
Another cracking video😊. You always manage to capture the right mix of stunning scenery combined with facts and knowledge of the area. Really enjoyed watching this one Graeme👍🏻
Thanks Pete, I loved walking this route and making the video. If you get a chance to walk it, its a great route with plenty to explore and enjoy :)
Hi, the Map sheet for that area is SX not SC
Oh no! You're right, I absolutely knew that but no idea why I put SC 😢 I'll put an edit in the title. Thank you so much for pointing out my mistake
Amazing video as always. I think the cross at Nun*s cross farm is actually known as Siwards cross.👍
Thank you Kev 😁
