Excellent Video Mathew, I appreciated the detailed explanation, well done! I’m going to start to put my P1S combo together! Also thanks for your help in the store today!
Thank you for a detailed review my friend. Buying the p1s as we speak and the blockage guidance is something that I've never seen explained before. Thanks from the uk.
Thanks for this! All the other unboxings I was able to find had the P1S packed differently (without the updated AMS securing method). Excellent information and great presentation!
I kept thinking as he was removing them... That's not how this is supposed to work. Could use a correction, that's a slightly important step to not mess us.
Yeah, the instructions are not good: "Remove the bags of desiccant" should be replaced with "Remove desiccant from bags and place back into the container"
I'm setting mine up today! I've been using cad to create all sorts of things for the past few months. Hopefully I can actually print them! We will see what changes I will need to make for good prints! Brand new to 3D printing, so......
About all that poopie purge waste, I've learned that there are more things one can do to get the purged waste down to almost zero. Close.... at least. - There is a special purge high retraction option. What that does, is instead of leaving all that filament in that long path in the nozzle, that gets purged out, it retracts LOTS leaving only a tiny amount to be purged. - Another option, is to use the feature to use purge for infill. Depending on % of infill, this can help a little to a lot. - This other option is my favorite and that is, you set up a "purge tower." It's suggested to use a part that you don't care what color it is. Something like, perhaps, a part that is hidden in your project, for example. This part is printed when the purge happens, using the purge materials. This reduces poop to almost zero. Perhaps a few bunny drops. LOL - There's also an option where you can just turn purging off! You'd use this if you are ok with the color changes being gradual as the filaments change. Not good where you need sharp, defined changes, however. But it's an option and also leads to zero or close to zero purging waste. I like this printer and have been considering it, but for me, the deal breaker is the monochrome display. That's just Bambu cheaping out. They have a nice color screen on their cheaper printer! Go figure. I've seen a lot of complaints about this stupid decision. People want color, not monochrome! It's not the year 2000 anymore! Sure, there are a couple of 3rd party options, but they aren't so impressive as yet. Perhaps, Bambu will *LISTEN TO THEIR CUSTOMERS AND POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS* and start using nice, very colorful displays. In reality, color displays are NOT more expensive that monochrome ones.... not anymore! In fact, as monochrome is used less and less, those will become more expensive due to supply and demand. The Creality K1 Max has a really nice color and larger display. IT CAN BE DONE!
I wanted a printer with enclosure for printing other filament than PLAS and PETG so I sold my A1 and bought the P1S. The P1S got a lot off warping with PLA especially on the left side. For every day printing cleaned my plate with hot water and soap. So I was disappointed and want the A1 back. Looked at internet and there was a lot of the same problem. What I thought could be the problem was the Aux Fan and that seems the solution they mentioned. Tried it on 10% and 0% and It worked for me. No warping with PLA. Hope it will continue so.
Just ordered one. Great video, that's all gonna help me get setup faster. Great observation about the waste when color changing, thanks for showing and weighing the pile. Have you found any setting/configuration methods that work well to reduce it? Thanks again!
Hey, thank you for this. I have a sovol sv06 plus and looking to get another better printer. I think i will pass on the AMS and just get the P1s without the AMS. If i want to change colors, i can do so manually, which would save a lot of waste. I was ready to buy the combo, but your video showed me i dont want all that waste. I can always wait for a sale on the AMZ if i change my mind later. Thanks
I have Dermatitis similar to yours and I have never found a way to get rid of it entirely. I did find a temporary fix with CeraVe SA moisturizer use every day. My skin would burn from the dermatologist recommended creams prescribed. I hope a useful tip.
Hi, nice video. How much slower is multi material print comparing to 1 material print? I know it depends on multiple factors but for example benchy in 2 colors half half verticaly to 1 color?
@@amateur87 hey there, it usually takes a lot longer. Let's say a regular benchy on standard speed takes 30 minutes. Bi-color would take a few hours. However, the time penalty doesn't increase if you print more copies of the same item. The number of colour changes per layer stays the same. So ideally, you'd want to print a full plate of copies of the same model to decrease the amount of wasted time and material per copy.
Theoretically, you could, I might not recommend it though. Stick with the PEI build plate that comes with the machine and I am sure you will find it to be a nice upgrade from glass!
Please don't mention glass. LOL I've had my printer for around 5 years now (or so). The glass bed that came with it is textured and in the first week, not knowing what I was doing, the nozzle gouged a deep line into the texture material. I didn't like the texture anyway as I wanted my projects to print, face down on smooth glass for a shiny, solid look. So I bought a solid clear glass for it. It was 400x400. No issues for years. Then, 3 days ago, I needed to print something small for a project I'm working on, so I got the color filament that I needed and tried to put it on the top rail on the roller bearing holders I made. I do this all the time, BUT, this time, I noticed that the nuts, holding one of the guide rollers had fallen off. Now the guide was loose. I went to remove the spool so that I could add new nuts and my hand slipped, the spool went flying backward, down onto the glass bed and SMASH!!!! So to do any printing, I had to go back to my old, original texture glass bed. On the opposite side of the gouge, the texture there was inconsistent. But I realized, that was caused by the glue stick or hair spray that I tried to use back then. With some 99% alcohol, letting it soak for a while, I was able to restore that side to new again. So, I'm at least back up and running.
Please read my comment above about that. There are, in fact, several options to reduce poop to almost zero, depending on choices. One new one is long retraction. It reduced waste greatly. But there's still waste.
Hi there, you are correct that using something like tweezers to remove the cable is generally much better than pulling on the cable. However the cables that they use in the ams are nice and thick and as long as you are gentle there is no issue with pulling on the cables directly. Just do not do it too many times ;)

Excellent tutorial for setting up from scratch - something that most reviewers just gloss over as "not sexy/interesting". Well done!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the review!
Just found this video which is much simpler (and therefore easier for me to follow) than any others. Thanks very much

why didn't put the desicant back into the AMS like you are supposed to after removing it from the plastic shipping bag??
I kept thinking as he was removing them... That's not how this is supposed to work.

I noticed that too!
Rather important step to have descant in there to keep filament dry.

Not gonna lie didn’t know this. Can confirm instructions say remove bags.
@@KJ333Wthey 100% don’t say anything about putting it back in. I just learned this too, luckily I unboxed my new printer yesterday
Thanks for the explanation of all exspecialy the blockage of the filament. Keep going on.👍👍

If you’ve never tried it, do a Himalayan pink salt face wash daily.
Body is inflamed get on a carnivore diet and see a dermatologist!

Something like that shouldn't make much difference at all. If I understand you correctly there would just be one color change.

use a magnet when trmoving the 2 screws from the AMS it is much easirt

Can you put in the description the STL of this "spinner" test?
Thx for the video btw
So you never showed how to actually load the material in the AMS?
You just put the material in the AMS and slide the filament into the hole for loading. It will do the rest from there!
hi how much do you charge for 3d printing for your business?? thanks have a good day

you can reduce the poop by setting the software up to use as INFILL
