The P1S is also my first FDM printer after having solely been printing in resin for about a year. I fully share your thoughts and excitement. I was afraid of a similar learning curve compared to resin but I got perfect prints right from the get-go and using the software is really easy. While it won’t replace my Elegoo Saturn on everything, it has become my go-to printer for the majority of my print jobs. And yes, it is super fun to print with it. Great review!
I am definitely getting this printer before the end of the year. I would love to see more on using the 0.2 nozzle for printing miniatures and what you need to tweak for good results. I don't see myself getting a resin printer any time soon, but I would like to print some miniatures (I mostly print other things).
So I have Neptune 2s and ordered the P1S. Would totally love a more detailed comparison between the two. I am possibly thinking of the Neptune 4 Max for larger prints in the future.
Sure thing, I’ll print more of the same stuff on each and show how they compare. I like the look of the Neptune 4 max but I rarely print large props etc… although I’d love to start.
The more I see about this printer the more I want it. I'm ok with the cons. Compared to my ender 3 this printer is far superior. And the colors! Multiple colors is a must for me now.
I ended up purchasing the printer and I will say it’s worth it. I cant imagine ever getting an ender 3 and spending that much time upgrading, setting it up, and holy cow….leveling the bed? 😭 I would much rather spend money on this than all of the wasted time I had with my ender.
I've been contemplating getting the printer with the AMS for several weeks now to print both minis and terrain in color because I love 3D printing, but I only ever paint a minuscule fraction of the prints (many a D&D table has been filled with grey prints in my house lol). I would be interested to see a video further breaking down the costs to print a 'painted' medium, large, and huge mini plus some terrain pieces and whether or not you think it's worth it for the time/cost input.
This is the video my bank account didn't want me to see... I mainly print D&D terrain for a couple of the groups I'm in and my printer feels like its slowly giving up. I've currently got the Creality CR-10 V2 and for the last couple of years it's been great BUT the ammount of time I've had to spend leveling the bed has made me not want to bother with it at all. I've spent a while looking at this printer, looking for a bad review but I just haven't been able to find one! Seeing the quality it can produce I think I'm going to end up with one being delivered very very soon! My only concern however is the vibration it could potentially put out. Would it have any effect on the quality of my resin prints whilst running an Elegoo Mars 4 right next to it on the same desk surface?
What I'm seeing is the terrain I'd love to print: scatter walls, good looking trees and what not. I need to learn how to find these things 😂 I don't mind paying for STL's at all, but joining 28 Patreons from a bunch of good sculptures is just not much fun.
I don’t understand why people say anything about the small screen. It’s simple to use as I can start a print with my eyes closed. It’s only a few clicks and it’s printing. I’ve never used the p1s over Wi-Fi but once and I think using the sd card is more reliable than over the internet. I really wish there was a port to connect it directly to my network but maybe someone will make a new main board like bigtree tech that has direct connection.
you mentioned resinprinters. i assume you have some knowledge of it. im looking in to going from a prusa mk3 to resin for finer detail. what should i get, speed(not sure if any are faster than others.) and large build volume is something i want
Great video 👍. I'm looking to buy my first 3D printer very soon but I'm stuck between 3 choices Bambu lab P1S, Elegoo Neptune 4 max or a Neptune 3. Your video has shown that the P1S has better quality than the Neptune 3 so that's pushed the P1S back to the top pf my list. My question to anyone reading this is if you were going to buy your first 3D printer which would you go for after seeing this video? I really can't decide. 🤔
Did you try the silent mode with the recent firmware update? I just ordered the X1 Carbon and am hoping it's decent at noise level. I'm coming off of a loud printer as it is and have it in an enclosure. Lately I've been wearing Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones. Got them for movies but they're magical, I have loud neighbors above me and I can't hear them anymore. Plus summer is coming up and they have a swamp cooler so they might not hear my printer above that anyway. I just hope mine isn't as loud as your's with the firmware update.
Thank you for this video that brought my attention to you supercool channel! I just commented on your resin printing video and now this machine here would be the alternative for me. So as I would not own a resin printer, I'd have to do everything with this one. Would you say the hustle of getting some detail out is worth it, printing the minifigures in FDM? And can you use the same files for your fdm printer, that were meant for resin printing? And then again with the toxicity... What kind of material do you use with that house, the dinosaur or the trees, so your children can play with it without a bad conscience and on what do you have to spend on that material for one of these models?
Hello. Thank you for the awesome video. I have a question: How loud is the p1s? I am living in an apartment complex and don´t want to disturb my neighbours too much. Is there any significant difference in noice levels in the different settings (silent mode, ludicrous mode, etc.)? Is it as loud as a vacuum cleaner or could you compare the noise level to any other devices?
Good question! So first up, I’d say it probably won’t disturb your neighbours unless it’s right next to the joining wall. It’s loudest during the start up, and then it moves into more a background noise kind of level. I was on a zoom meeting the other day and no one noticed it which was weird, although that could be the microphone removing the background noise. I’ll try and do some more shots and comparisons as I do my full review.
Thank you. I'm also very interested about the silent mode. I'll be printing in a closet, but printer noises bug my wife, so I don't want her to be annoyed. 🙂 Plus, I sit just outside the closet all day, so I don't want to be annoyed either! 😝 Also, it sounds like they want us to print PLA with the door open, which is a bummer for noise. I wonder if that's really because.
Multi material is not the same as multi color print. Using differently colored filament rolls to prints in multiple materials is a bad solution. Foe multi color prints it should use a 2D printhead an color in translucent filament instead, this would be way faster with way less filament purge.
Technically, the printer prints well (albeit loudly), but one thing the reviewers fail to mention is that the network functions all depend on using their app, which requires bluetooth to set up and a very finnicky WiFi reception on the machine. Also, their customer support is on the lower levels of helpfulness. If this expensive thing does not work and the troubleshoot guide does not provide an answer, you are on your own. I feel this is a major disadvantage.

I’m just over a month in with this printer and I still love it. As times gone on I like the AMS system less, but the printer is incredible.

@Gray Scalp Minuatures 4:33 that tree looks so gorgeous! I'd love to know what model this is? Would you mind sharing where it was sourced from? 🙏
I don't suppose you're willing to share the location of that bolt pistol eh? I would love to print one like that and have yet to find as nice a model.
If you could please share where you got the files for the bolt pistol, looks sick
Terrain and buildings for table top games
Thanks for the video, big help in emptying my bank account...

Take the p1s :)
@@TheSinthorasXThanks. I did. 👍
for basic hobby fig/statue printing would u recommend P1S ? I dont want to set up resin in my living room while having dog sadly
Nice
Thanks for the video can I ask where you got the stl files for the animals please
Zou3D. They make a whole bunch of great sculpts.
Where did you get the STL for that tree, that's so nice!

so hows the noise reduction?
Can you please explain what a purge tower is and why it does it?
Please tell us where you got the file for the bolt pistol from! Thank you. :)
Bigger nozzle size please!!
Try them

Can I ask have you used silk filament much with this printer and what adhesion problems sticking to the bed have you had?
I've used it a few times and had no issues with it sticking.
Any feeling on best type of pla for terrain normal or matte?
Can it print long prints with the enclosure doors and top closed?

Remember that any printer is going to be much quieter if you put it in an enclosure with acoustic foam.
Can selected items be re-scaled in the software? For example, the sizes of figures.
Hello! Where did you get the Bolt Pistol STL?
Hey, great vid. Where did you get your stl files from?
What filaments were used during this video?
What profiles do you use?
Loud...seriously, I'm running four P1Ps at a time. They're not SUPER, SUPER loud.
My teacher has 18 its scary too hear all

....the scenario where it doesn't work is so small. Ever owned a creality....thats exactly the scenario you are describing, owning a creality
someone buy my xcf pro so i can buy a p1s lol
bla bla bla ...
