First let me say this video should be on a USB stick and added to every Bambu A1 printer. It was spectacular, having just fumbled my way through a first time setup like a blind man in a porno shop. This was what I and every new Bambu A1 owner needs. Thank you for the exact data on the full and complete setup and testing and functions. The only small miss I would say I seen was connecting the PETG tubes to the hot end you didn’t say there was not order and these could be installed in any position as the order is set later, especially on non Bambu filaments. Really thanks and I will look for more of your videos and hope there are some on colour changing and supports. I personally have been printing for 8+ years but never with the Bambu labs software so there is a slight learning curve. Again thanks for the fantastic video.
This is the most comprehensive video I’ve seen on this printer. Thank you for showing us settings to help get started and printing cool items!! I can’t wait to pick up this printer
I bit the bullet and just ordered an A1 with AMS! Replacing my old Ender 3 Pro I purchased about 6 years ago... if you can call it an Ender 3 still with all the mods and jank I added to it. Even though I'm not quite a beginner, the price of this printer was the #1 attraction. Automatic bed leveling, multi color printing, built in camera and app for monitoring, touch screen display, wifi connectivity.. the list goes on and on. I always thought you had to spend $1000+ for a printer with all these features so when I saw this for >$500 I was amazed. After seeing you guys say all good things I couldn't resist... Can't wait for it to arrive!
I really want to jump but the waste with these current multi material systems gives me pause especially with Bambu about to announce their new flagship soon. I would be willing to spend up to about 1800-2k if they release a multi tool head machine with 4 heads to compete with the prussa XL. I know as soon as I buy the A1 combo they are going to announce a 4 head printer
I just ordered an A1 combo today. They're $100 off right now. I'm in the same boat with my old Ender. I spend more time making it run than printing at this point.
@OchsSlayer I hear that. After a month or so of using the bambu I'm extremely happy I bought it. It's prints insanely fast without having to fuss with any settings. Truly remarkable. Enjoy!!
@@bu3bu4 how do I get that price in US Tho 🤔 Cheapest is $450 here and 5% off with credit card and a 25 off coupon but then my states 6.25% sales tax Last time I ordered direct from Creality I was not charged sales tax so $300 direct with no tax is an absolute streal

I absolutely adore this printer. It is such a no hassle tool at such a reasonable price. This is the gold standard of home 3d printers. I would recommend the combo even if you don't want to do multicolor prints. You can get extremely clean prints with supports if you use PVA as an interface layer.
I'm really enjoying mine - if you can drop the $$ on the combo it's great but even as a single color printer the price is pretty competitive considering what else is on the market in that range.
You won't be disappointed :) If you found my video useful and you decide to get the printer feel free to use the link in the video description or pinned comment - it would really help support my channel - thanks!
Great video, I would say I've had no issues printing with generic pla filament even running it at the preset 220c temps. Bambu labs were designed by x DJI engineers which are also awesome devices
Mine arrived today and is sitting in the hallway for me to build tomorrow so thank you for the video. I am not new to printing but was getting fed up with the amount of work I had to do with every print, same print, same settings, same filament and something would go wrong that I would have to tweak. So bad in the end I gave up printing. I'm hoping this will jump start me designing and printing again. I got the combo in the current sale and with 3 spools and 2 hot ends was still cheaper than my last printer.
Hi , I have just bought that A1 set up and have found it reasonably simple to use. It’s a lot to get to grips with but your video has very got me thinking 🎉
I waded through many "information sources" before I found out here, that you can't input the specs of individual filaments in bambu studio... you have to use the printer interface screen. Finally...relief... thanks
Great video. Looking into possibly getting an A1 and wanted to see different prints and the ease of use of the program. Wife & I are totally new and want something easy to use and easy to learn.
Dynamic Flow Calibration works on the A1. It would solve a lot of your filament issues with generic filaments, though some tuning is worth doing. Usually turning down volumetric flow and adjusting temps to the recommended specs help a lot too.
Interesting, when I selected it it didn't seem to do anything - but in the wiki I see Bambu left a note saying that A1 and X1 series will have automatic mode and they will update the wiki - I'll have to try it again!
Waiting on my A1 to be delivered today, first time 3D printer so this video is a huge insight in what I’ll be getting into. Thank you for this extremely helpful guide! Edit: any recommendations for filament other than Bambu’s filament? TIA!
@@BackDaws good stuff, how’s the eSun working for you? I bulk ordered basic Sunlo PLA and they’ve been pretty good. I’d like to branch out to different filament types and colors eventually too

I think the orange bleeding into white looks pretty cool almost like an Ombre style effect. Can see this being useful in some prints where you might want a gradient change between the two filaments. Getting my A1 in September after 3 years of using Enders. both are good machines but just need more speed and reliability now as im venturing into selling prints so thank you for the video to aid in my research :)
Hey @Embrace Making, great video! I noticed your tree supports are pulled off with ease, without leaving any nasty areas behind. Do you mind sharing your support settings or do you have a video on that?
Hi do you know if i could put a 200 x 200 copper clad pcb on the build plate and print on to it ? Can the Z height be altered or fooled, using this printer. Thanks
The best way to deal with Google Nest Mesh Wifi 2.4/5 ghz problem is to set up a Guest Network in the Google Home app. Guest Networks for Nest Mesh always defaults to 2.4ghz instead of switching back and forth. That's the only way I can hook up most of my older wifi enabled devices. Thanks for the great video!
Thanks for the video, very good. I should have watched it before i got my rpinter hahs, save me time running into learning curves then going to UA-cam.
Wifi connection to 2.4. If your router/extender allows first change it to 2.4ghz only. Then connect the printer or any other 2.4 only device. Once connected turn 5.0ghz or auto back on. For nearly all devices as it has previously connected already it will do so again with the dual band on.
Go to your router settings and select "hide SSID" for the 5 GHz band or don't broadcast. Save setting which won't effect your 5 GHz connected devices. Run the Bambu Labs setup for the device and it will only see the 2.4 GHz band. Connect it with the password then go back to the router app to "unhide" the 5 GHz band. Since the 3D printer is already setup and connected it should work.
I have the Bamboo A1, not the combo. Is there a way to use multiple filament without keeping to swaping out. I see 4 slots.... I can only do 1 color swap at a time.
Great video thanks for sharing I just got the A1 I do have a question if you could help me. On a genuine filament when it comes to unload. When you click on filament you get the choice to load unload and edit on genuine filament it’s highlighted unload. My issue is I’m I’m using generic filament but when it comes to unload the only highlighted options are load and edit the unload is not highlighted so how do you manually unload on a generic filament please.
For the wifi issue, i think you would need to separate the 2.4 from the 5G. So you would have 2 separate wifi connections instead of them being together and switching automatically between one another.
Have a question. I have a new A1 Combo and I'm trying to get it connected to Studio (running on a M1 MacBook). When I go to the Device tab & press the + to add a printer, it gives me 2 options; Bind with PIN Code & Bind with Access code. What are these 2 different options? You said to use the PIN code and said something about getting that from the A1's Network settings. I'm not finding that, where is Network? I go to Settings and there's 3 pages of options but no Network. Appreciate any help. Thanks.
Every courier out there... watch how hard I can drop your package. After making this video I ordered two P1Ps during the anniversary sale - UPS guy stacked them one on top of the other while he carried them up my steps and then just full on dumped them out of his arms onto my porch.
Honestly I think the build volume is the only thing you need to look at between the two. I think the mini is really easy to outgrow and you'll want the regular A1 at minimum. Thank you for your hard work in producing this. How did you get around using generic filament with the BL reels? Did you use an adapter? If so which one, there are soooo many!
i havent tested the wifi yet but the usual fix is go into the router settings and force it to be a 2.4ghz network only, setup the device in question, then set the router back to normal. other 2.4ghz only devices work using that method.
So is bambu studio the only slicer you can use with the a1? Bc I have been trying to use ultimaker cura, but every time I try to use it with my printer the sd card doesn’t show the files I download, and it won’t let me use bambu studio bc I can’t even connect my printer to it bc the PIN code won’t pop up no matter where I look for it
11:16 I would agree, but then i saw a video of a guy who strung up his bambu lab printer with a string to his ceiling. If i remember correctly, it had basically no difference to print quality. ;)
@EmbraceMaking Hello, can u give me an advice pls. I am looking for my first 3d printer choosing between, Bambu Lab A1 and Creality Ender-3 V3 (Core-XZ). Ender-3 looks like a better option, it can print carbon reinforced filaments out the box, and max bed temperature is up 110C which gives ability to print more materials. But lack of filament color switching system is a con.
I don't see why the A1 can't print the same materials as the V3... they are both open frame, and the A1 has a max nozzle temp of 300 and bed 100 so you can attempt to print a wide range of filaments. They both have steel nozzles so abrasives should be okay, and in both cases you will be hindered by not having an enclosure and the ambient temperature + possibility of cold draft if you are printing materials that like to warp. In a lot of ways the two machines are similar but the V3 has the interesting core xz. Out of the box default settings it seems like the V3 prints faster but I would say the quality on the A1 is slightly better, especially if you use Bambu Lab or eSun filament. I have a ton of Creality printers and I generally have no issue with them - I use them in my print farm, but I do feel like Bambu Lab spends more time refining their machines and software presets, you just pay more for them. If you need multi color then the choice is clear though.
Your WiFi problem is related to your router not a printer. In my case Amazon's Eero has an option to pause for 10 minutes 5GHz frequency for pairing a 2.4 GHz device. Very useful to add new WiFi automation devices.
What camera are u using to film prints? Seems to run indefinitely. The built-in camera states that it pauses for the time lapse, and I would rather not have the printer pause because I’m impatient. Lol
I recently started using a simple Wyze cam as it has a nice timelapse feature and the app is really easy to use / reliable etc: amzn.to/3YAr2m3 Plus if when you're not using it for your prints you have a nice security camera :)
I bought a few of these printers (with AMS lite) after my review and I didn't get any toys :( I heard they come as "availability permits" but I bet most of the boxes don't have them. The one that I received for review I'm sure they made sure I got one so I could show it on UA-cam
I have the a1 and mine looked different to yours. Mine has the braided cable (original had rubber) but my stopped at the back is moulded into the frame where as yours looks like it the one Bambu asked users to stick on. Also I got a bag of bolts (didn’t buy it) to allow me to screw the braces you can print. The other think I find a bit stupid Bambu have done is include that swatch for filament. It lost the petg basically filament but if you go on the website they have stopped selling petg basic filament
Probably different people getting the different stages of production when they fixed that cable - I also wasn't aware they stopped selling PETG basic, its too bad but I guess you can still use the colors as some kind of a reference to try and build a palette and then find another brand/material in similar color.
Error at 14:45, the printer does NOT give you a pin code to enter into those boxes. It only shows a QR code that must be read with the mobile app. If you do not use the app then apparently you're shit out of luck and can't use this method. You can try to switch to LAN Only mode but if your LAN isn't connected to the internet then again, apparently you're shit out of luck. So looks as if everyone must either construct your work space, and configure your local area connection and internet connection how Bambu Labs wants it set, or piss off.
I have rst time trying to get it to work for multiple colors it purged one then cut it went purged that color then snapped the filament trying to reel it back without even cutting it the second time.. super irritated because as soon as you have the ams on there even for a spool holder it dumps 3times the filament for every print right off!! why the heck do they make this thing so wasteful!!!????
It would be REALLY nice if Bambu Labs were to offer a spool exchange of some sort and not waste the RFID chips in used spools by throwing them out. Do something like SodaStream does with their CO2 bottle exchange. This way Bambu Labs could just reuse the old spools with the same color on it as before and just resell it and maybe give you as the consumer $5 off your next purchase for each spool you return. You could even return the used spools in the same box your new spools come in. Bambu Labs could even include a shipping label that bills them for the return to make things easier. Using a cash-on-delivery (COD) label pre-printed in the box with the new spools would also be a better option than prepaid shipping labels as not everyone will take advantage of that or have any spools to return. It would be pretty simple to implement and they could advertise as an even more environmentally friendly company.
They do offer filament refill options that's 3 bucks cheaper than spooled filament. That's a perfect option over the expenses to operate a reuse center.
Imagine your negatives all stemming from not having a clue on networking and the caveats of hotspotting and creating a wireless network using a mobile device especially in your case not having a physical internet address to establish a geolocation. Anytime you have issues with wireless banding, all smart home and cnc decices suing esp chips they use 2.4 due to limitations on 5ghz, setup a hot-spot using same WiFi details as your router, once it connects turn off hot-spot, restart device and it will pick ssid on router. Only reason qr code on printer screen gave wrong location as an actual.physical location wasn't determined due to hotspotting so in bambu case China is default
Nice printer but it just takes far too long to change colours over. A simple two colour print which was black with red text on the top added an hour of print time to change from black to red. I don't know how many of you have done multi colour prints and swapped the filament manually but if you have how long does it take you to swap filaments? a minute or so max. Why on earth does a system of state of the art tech, that costs around £500 take an hour of extra print time to swap one single colour? Not efficient for a business at all.
I think the problem with the supra model was that the STL files weren't great to begin with either so probably not the best to showcase the printer. And yes... multicolor prints with many color changes especially on the same layer take a ton of time so you have to be prepared to be patient

Every courier out there... watch how hard I can drop your package. After making this video I ordered two P1Ps during the anniversary sale - UPS guy stacked them one on top of the other while he carried them up my steps and then just full on dumped them out of his arms onto my porch.
Where do I find information on the roll pins? I don't see it in the description.
Idk if I should get the Bambu A1 or the A1 mini? Can u give me the major differences instead of the small ones? Thank you if u respond EmbraceMaking
Honestly I think the build volume is the only thing you need to look at between the two. I think the mini is really easy to outgrow and you'll want the regular A1 at minimum. If you haven't bought one yet, check out the current sale price here: shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=2485357&u=3650799&m=138211&urllink=&afftrack=
Just the size
I got everything in the A1 except the bonus project, I emailed them and the answer was non helpful. it felt like the bonus project is not guaranteed apparently.
:( That kind of sucks - did you order recently? Did you get the combo or just the A1 only?
@@EmbraceMaking A1 Combo, copy and paste error and all and smile face ...Dear user,
Thank you for your email.
We would like to ckarify that the project item you see is the mystery box.
Mystery boxes are given out completely randomly, and the order amount is not a factor considered when awarding mystery boxes.
You have the opportunity to receive a blind box in your future orders.😊
Have a good day!
I didn't get the bonus project :( kinda sad but the printer is great, thanks for the video
That's too bad :( I wonder if they've been running low on them or something
Bambu and Prusa is all use and all I need 💯 I have 1 Bambu x1c and Prusa XL 5 head, Prusa MK4 with MMU and Mini both with enclosures and Prusa resin SL1S.. I need another Bambu 😫
Thank you for your hard work in producing this. How did you get around using generic filament with the BL reels? Did you use an adapter? If so which one, there are soooo many!
Thank you! Do you mean how do I get the spools on the AMS-Lite from other brands?
@@EmbraceMaking yes it is proving to be a pain
Takk!
Wow thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
Question, do you have to have a computer to make it work?
No
i havent tested the wifi yet but the usual fix is go into the router settings and force it to be a 2.4ghz network only, setup the device in question, then set the router back to normal. other 2.4ghz only devices work using that method.
Should I get the combo or just the regular version
I love the combo, I don’t always use it but it is great to have for when I want to do multiple colors.
Is everyone leaving the rubber sleeve around the pfte tubes? It doesn't show up in the Bambu wiki?
Hm, which rubber tube? Timestamp?
So is bambu studio the only slicer you can use with the a1? Bc I have been trying to use ultimaker cura, but every time I try to use it with my printer the sd card doesn’t show the files I download, and it won’t let me use bambu studio bc I can’t even connect my printer to it bc the PIN code won’t pop up no matter where I look for it
Nevermind I fixed it like a day after comenting that
11:16 I would agree, but then i saw a video of a guy who strung up his bambu lab printer with a string to his ceiling.
Hey I'm absolutely new to 3D world. Just wanted to know how to clone any objects? Because I want to print small objects but a lot.
Do the color change selection the same way manually in Bambu studio instead of syncing with the AMS
Your WiFi problem is related to your router not a printer. In my case Amazon's Eero has an option to pause for 10 minutes 5GHz frequency for pairing a 2.4 GHz device. Very useful to add new WiFi automation devices.
Why not use the infill as a place to whipe the filament when making color changes. That would reduce waste.?
Do you mean instead of using the wipe tower?
Well thay would depend on the colour and material you're using. You wouldn't want a different colour infill if you're printing with clear filament
i wonder why no support for Inland Filament seeing that Micro Center Sells Bambu Labs.
What camera are u using to film prints? Seems to run indefinitely. The built-in camera states that it pauses for the time lapse, and I would rather not have the printer pause because I’m impatient. Lol
I recently started using a simple Wyze cam as it has a nice timelapse feature and the app is really easy to use / reliable etc: amzn.to/3YAr2m3
Plus if when you're not using it for your prints you have a nice security camera :)
If u don’t but the combo do u still get the toy u can print
I bought a few of these printers (with AMS lite) after my review and I didn't get any toys :( I heard they come as "availability permits" but I bet most of the boxes don't have them. The one that I received for review I'm sure they made sure I got one so I could show it on UA-cam
@@EmbraceMaking oh that really helped thanks a lot
So if the internet goes down you can no longer print?
You can always do old school USB method!
@@EmbraceMaking I did some checking and you can put these machines in LAN only mode so they aren't dependant on internet access.
How about purge to fill?
I'm stuck between getting this or the mini!!
I would go with this one, the mini is good but the larger bed size on the regular A1 will be useful for you when you really need it
Error at 14:45, the printer does NOT give you a pin code to enter into those boxes.
That's a perfect option over the expenses to operate a reuse center.
bamboo very hard to conect to maccbook still print from sd card..
You can print from the phobe app
Thanks for a 240p quality that you can’t change😆
why print a benchy first..? Let's just jump right into a paint chip case!!!
Great video, very well explained but I have an ick... Please for the love of all that is sacred close those damn tabs on your phoneeeeee
lol if that bugs you definitely don't look at how many browser tabs I have open on my pc ...
Dinu us this video if you have a new A1 combo they changed the design
Jump in the google network and block the mac address for it on the 5ghz band
Saying ams system is like saying chai tea or led diode
automated material system system
Not efficient for a business at all.
toyota model looks BAD ! Coloured prints demand a LOT of printime . A ludicrous amount of time...IF being Honest.
I think the problem with the supra model was that the STL files weren't great to begin with either so probably not the best to showcase the printer. And yes... multicolor prints with many color changes especially on the same layer take a ton of time so you have to be prepared to be patient
