That’s not always true. There’s a reason words like “denial” exist.
That ‘cliché’ doesn’t factor in the fact that bad things do happen. The worse part is the re-victimization of people in denial saying it’s not so bad.
It’s easier too face those feelings in order to see if those fears are legit.
Sound bites sound good on t-shirts, but don’t work for EVERYONE, ALL the time.
Especially if they require you to pretend ALL fear is invalid as is if things like death, sickness, and discrimination don’t exist.
Some people don’t have the “luxury” of pretending their life isn’t a nightmare. Those who do end up co-dependent alcoholic, rage-aholics, and telling people with problems “it’s their imagination”.
That’s the same mentality used to deny people care. And the same excuse working poor people use to scream at disabled panhandler’s “get a job”. Thus misdirecting their frustrations on a marginalized person they are pretending to help, with abuse.
If this thought helps you fine, that’s cool. Whatever works.
However in order to feel positively inspired, I personally benefit by dealing with situations on a case-by-case basis. Finding things I can believe in.
For example, this entity may be denying me services because of discrimination that existed before me, but with the law, common sense, decency, and the court of ‘public opinion’ on my side, it’s just a matter if I’m going to get my needs met the easy way or the hard way as I go over my head.
The people who ignore the proof I have don’t seem better off for the denial. In fact that seem to me worse off mentally. Their denial has made them emotionally volatile, screeching holler monkeys.

If you are suffering from procrastination, its definitely a fear, something has scared you (criticism so intense that its paralyzed your judgements). Its crazy how you have to start little by little to gain confidence in yourself again, by doing small things to completion AND telling yourself that you did a good job. Overcoming these negative thoughts/criticisms is the key skill to mastering your reactions to criticism and your environment (negative, hostile).
May Gods love be with us all.

Definitely what happened to me . I have buck teeth and since I was little it never bothered me at all . Until middle school when ppl would call them out or call me names like “squirrel “ “beaver “ so yeah my confidence absolutely plummeted and I’ve been so insecure searching for flaws …. I got anxiety so bad I started to depart from my family because even around them I had anxiety as if they were judging me . I’m now 20 and for the past few months I’ve been really focused on my mental health and it’s been getting way better …. I can now walk into a store with less fear of being judged or talk to people without feeling judged (still have anxiety but slowly fading ) I think cutting off a lot of bad habits and really focusing on how your mind works REALLY helps overcome stuff like that . Doing small things like cleaning your room , going for a run , working out , stopping drugs or liquor or self pleasure like jerking off or really focusing on your future and being productive everyday definitely helps in the long run … if u have bad anxiety or are depressed please give what I said a shot 🙏🏾 I promise theres no other feeling of seeing your mental health progress and finding who u truly are and if you’re suicidal please try a mental health journey , I used to wake up with daily thoughts of suicide because I felt like a failure and the feeling of life problems overweighted me . I know most suicidal people don’t want to die , they just want to live . Live a life that isn’t so stressful or overwhelming so I encourage anyone who has suicidal thoughts please try a mental health journey and think as positive as possible …. Give urself a patt in the back over big and little achievements and give yourself compliments like “ you did great today “ “ I’m glad you tried “ things like that . I Know it’s hard but at the end it will be worth finding yourself … much love to you all ❤️

Amen, by gods love I think it’s important for the American people to reeducate on the importance of fables in society, such as the holy Bible. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, google Aesops Fables and find the link from the “original internet archive” then open up a notebook and start writing down what you take from it. God isn’t about convincing yourself to sell your soul to a god. It’s about having faith in god and his goodness that allows you a easier road to have faith in yourself. Religion is just the modern man’s word for a fable. Something to believe in and in return themselves.

Growing up as a teen in the 80’s, I can reflect on how much was just common sense back then. We all understood individuals had emotional strengths and weaknesses. Second Dr. Peterson gave a remarkable example of how psychologists or therapists use to work with patients to help control their mental illness. Now all these doctors do is ask specific questions in order to hop you up on the latest psychiatric drugs. All society does now is make you feel special to be a victim. So the trend is to be a victim not mentally tough.

Best advice I heard from Peterson is that thinking about yourself makes you depressed.
When I get depressed now I try and think about my family and do something nice for them. When I'm alone I practice thinking about nothing, or something useful (like learning a skill).
It makes a huge difference. I'm 100% convinced that depression (that isn't caused by a physical health problem) is created by our thoughts.
And... we have more control over our thoughts than we think....

My boyfriend suffers from depression and anxiety. Once I brought him to a church service hosted by the nearby college and he walked out half way through and wanted to bang his head against a wall and he was very upset. All these people worshipping and talking about the good things God has done and he couldn't handle it because he was still in a very bad place. I was not equipped to help him and he left and a lady came and prayed with me after. Do you think this was caused by demons acting up inside him (like making him want to bang his head against a concrete wall and not being able to stand praises to God) or a physical manifestation of the deep despair of his soul in the presence of a hope he didn't have?

Also, what I learned is to understand being an "open introvert". It feels like reaching out, being confident about this but then regretting whatever you did or said. The mind is a weird yet incredible place.

I have been in the stage of learning to discipline my life and self. Learned behaviors/habits are not easy to break. I am trying to be proactive when I recognize signs but I have not mastered keeping myself out of depression. It's so comforting to stay wrapped in bed and not let people hurt you. I am also managing impulse and anger issues at the same time. I have to pull myself up and out by myself because no one but a counselor is able to help me. It's best to stay away from people so I dont hurt their feelings. People run away fast as soon as there is work to do no matter the kind of work it is

The big five test helped me understand that in almost every personality dimension, I am naturally at the extremes. Understanding this has brought me to seek more balance that has done wonders for my mental health, despite struggling with overcompensation in that process. I'm exceptionally high in openess and exceptionally low in consciousness, I'm in the process of developing balance and and more aware of my tendency to overcompensate and I'm successfully avoiding overcompensation. I'm naturally exceptionally agreeable, and learned very well to stand up for myself, but I overcompensated very much in that process, but have overcome that and I am now much more balanced in that regard. I'm exceptionally high in nueroticism, and learned to not take myself too seriously in order to be more vulnerable to joy, but again I overcompensated and had to overcome that overcompensation in order to take myself seriously enough to move ahead in life. Extraversion is the only dimension that has always been balanced for me, except that the extremes in other dimensions have caused challenges in socialization and not always allowed me to express my extraversion in a healthy way. So yeah, personality has a huge impact on mental health.

When the office gets disorganized, when the unexpected happens and people are thrown out of their comfort zone, when it's time to improvise to get us out of deep sh*t, I virtually always emerge as a leader. I was like that even when I had no experience whatsoever, so it's not experience. I wonder if you think there's an element of truth to that idea.

I don't do drugs and I was never diagnosed with any mental health issues as a kid until recently. I was never depress or anything. I've learned a lot through my mental health journey. It took me almost a full year to recover mentally. I have not been taking any medications for a couple months. I would like to help anybody that wants my help because I believe that anybody can fully recover without medication. Just to say thank you to him from the bottom of my heart for all these free videos containing incredible insights, easy to apply tips that really make a huge difference and last but not least all those great advices in even so many different areas of life!
I quit local psychology therapy after 8 or 9 years because it totally wasn't going anywhere anymore.
It made me feel unheard, not taken serious and frustrated. So I quit and shortly after I quit, I felt really lost and alone.
But one day, out of the clear blue sky and as I truly believe a miracle, I opened up UA-cam and out of nowhere Dr. Jordan Peterson appeared!
I watched one video of him and immediately felt heard, understood, uplifted, motivated and much stronger.
      So in general very happy!
      All in all:
When times are really utterly dark, not only Dr. Jordan Peterson taught me the benefits of pushing on, he even taught me why times are sometimes utterly dark and he even taught me how to practically push on.
So somehow he gave me value again and I really feel a much completer and much stronger man because of his teachings.
And for that I'm very extremely grateful and he has a special place in my heart!
So by this way, Thank You Dr. Jordan Peterson! 👏👏😎👍
