      Yeah, those sharks are WAY smarter than what people give them credit. One time I was with a friend and we were about to go scuba diving with a great white that we frequently dove with, around 5 km off the shore. While we were suiting up, we noticed that she was circling our speedboat as if trying to get our attention. She had never done this before, and we decided to hurry and dive down to see what was wrong. And as soon as the both of us hit the water, she got up on our speedboat and rode off. Those bastards are cunning, you never know when they're gonna do you dirty.

    Sharks are relatively harmless. Most shark attacks are a result of mistaken identity, thinking you're food when you start to panic and thrash around like you know, prey. 90% of people bitten by a shark will be let go the second they realize the mistake and pretty much every death has been a result of bleeding out. Shark wasn't trying to hurt you but they don't have hands to interact with their environment so they use what they do have, which unfortunately for people just happens to be full of razer sharp teeth.
    Sharks kill on average about 3 people a year. You're more likely to get killed by a cow than a shark. Yet we kill millions of them every year. Most shark species have had 70-99% of their species killed off by humans and many will definitely go extinct. We waaaaaaaaaay overreacted to Jaws because before that movie we knew sharks were pretty much harmless.

    • @TristanSune
      @TristanSune 3 роки тому +55

      These comparisions are so fucking dumb. Saying cows, vending machines, elevators etc. kill more humans than sharks is straight retarded.
      How many times a year does humans interact with cows, tens of millions? Vending machines, billions? And how many do you think interact with a great white, 4 digits?

    • @unknownplite
      @unknownplite 3 роки тому +158

      @@TristanSune ok, you wanna go that way. Over twice as many people die a year from fireworks on the Fourth of July every year than sharks. People die from falling out of bed 150 times more than people who get killed by sharks every year. People are killed by champagne corks eight times as often. More people get killed by their own lawnmowers. Specifically in the state of Minnesota, more people die per year by falling through ice into a lake. Over 200 times as many people die from being tazered. Around 3 people are killed by sharks annually while around 1000 people annually die from autoerotic asphyxiation, or strangling or suffocating oneself to heighten sexual arousal or orgasm. Sharks aren’t dangerous. Being afraid of sleeping on a small bed would be more rational than being afraid to swim in the ocean because a shark might get you. They don’t hunt humans, when people get killed by sharks it’s usually because they bleed out or the wound gets infected. People need to realize this and stop killing sharks, they’re an extremely important part of the ecosystem almost everywhere in the ocean.

      Lol, "they are just testing if ur food, they dont kill you... You just die from bleeding out" lol, sounds awfull, would be better to just get head ripped of by the shark than laying there with a huge wound and slowly bleed out.
      Ofc few people get killed by shark, few people are staying close to them....
      Every predator got killer instinct, you should respect them all. A bear might eat berries 350 days a year, but he might as well slay 50 sheeps in a go just for fun/training.
      A man lived like 10 years with a bear family, suddenly the bear ate him and his gf alive. Probarly felt him and his bear kid needed some food.
      And yes, they found audio record of it, both him and his gf did not seem to love the action of the bear. Beeing eaten alive, meanwhile bones crush in the mouth of a strong animal gotta hurt like hell...
      People trusts animals way to much, huge numbers of people get killed by dogs, espesially kids. Think how grusome that is..
      A farmer can Pet his cows for 30 year, then suddenly a cow squeeze him to death...
      Animals CAN be dangerous for you, everything else is a Lie.

    • @unknownplite
      @unknownplite 3 роки тому +57

      @@gel87Kjetil doesn’t mean it’s likely at all. If you wanna go by that logic you should piss yourself every time your dog walks into the same rooms as you because it might fucking kill you and your entire family. Literally every animal you named there is much more aggressive and more likely to attack a human than a shark is. They only kill around 3 people per year. Also if you get attacked, chances are you’re gonna survive. Only around 1 in 30 people who are bitten are killed from a shark bite.

      Thanks for that. I always have been puzzled at how often a shark cage is deployed to film and study Great Whites. It is not needed. Like you said, if you know what you are doing they can be harmless. Whites really only attack humans at the surface of the water, and it almost always is because a persons sillouhette looks exactly like a seal from down below. They will bite once and let go when they realize their mistake. Unfortunately a single bite from a 20 foot two thousand pound shark can be pretty devastating to a two hundred pound human. Recently I am seeing more and more video footage of divers interacting with Great Whites and not using the protective cages. proving that they are not the agressive killers that the media has made them out to be.

    INCREDIBLE footage! When the Great White turned to look at you...amazing! It was like a mutual understanding between different species was at play.
    You are living my dream!
    What a great man, I would love to sit and listen to his stories...I could do it all day.
    I’ve had some experience diving in cages with Great Whites...I can’t even explain how incredible and even serene it was.
    I did have an alarming encounter with an approximately 4 metre Tiger off the coast of Northern Australia. I was floating on my surf board waiting for a decent wave when the alarm sounded, so I looked around to see if I could spot the culprit. Yep, it was literally 5 metres to my left, I just caught the last inch of its dorsal fin as it dived beneath the water. My two options were to sit on my board, not knowing where it was or if it was going to strike at the board, or dive beneath the water so I could see it coming, face it, spread out like a starfish if it were to approach. I chose option 2 as visibility was great that day. Sure enough, it was still only metres away, so I kept my eye solely on the beautiful creature, although I was absolutely terrified. I watched her glide past showing no interest in me whatsoever, then waiting til she was out of sight, promptly hopped back on my board and high tailed it back to shore! Was a crazy and heart pounding moment or two, but I now have so much more respect for the ocean and beautiful sharks 🦈...They aren’t mindless eating machines like they are made out to be ❤️

      I respect Nature and enjoying it without messing with it. So I'm down to your opinion. But, just bcoz you're someone who goes into the ocean... my advice is: try to balance optics. Watching shark optimistic and glorifying videos/testimonies over documenting yourself through shark attacks. It might help you keep tracks of what's real and what's not

      @@alananalderladywarrior1754 What I mean is: since you're someone who spends a lot of time in the water, I'm giving you my example- besides the videos and what not presenting the good side of the sharks, when their calm and everything turns out into a wonderful experience, you should also try to watch the bad experiences. It will help you have an objective idea.
      Basically, I'm saying that always listening to both side of a story helps you keep a correct understanding of things. Be aware ! That's all.

    The amount he laughs, often when there isn't a joke, indicates him having a nervous disposition when having any conversations, probably off camera as well.
    That is interesting considering his confidence with massive sharks that'll kill you in literally a second.
    Goes to show that people can be very confident, but maybe not in every way and possibly not in a way many would define confidence, so don't let your initial judgement of someone make you think you know that person's entire personality.
