I downloaded the bigscreen app then deleted it a few hrs later. The room app is very nice but the TV is much the same as Netflix and prime, I joined for the 3D films only to find out its only clips and if you want the actual movies you have to upload them from external sources and they take up very large chunk of your memory. So to gimmicky for me
I haven't used it in a while, for me it was used for Hulu and UA-cam primarily. I never bothered with the 3D movies, because you have to pay to see them. The different environments was the draw for me, but they haven't added any new ones so I pretty much stopped using the app, unfortunately. Pushing down on the joystick extends a curved line from the controller, that is where your teleportation point will be, you then have to line up the end of that curved line to the blue teleportation points on the floor and release to teleport to that spot. To turn around you can either physically turn around in real life or use the joystick on the controller to rotate in place.
It's been a while since I made that video and they have updated the app several times. Sadly, I don't use it much, it's possible they removed the option or just changed the layout. I'll check it out and post an update.

Aside from that the environments are great for watching the streaming services that are compatible.
Funny thing, I was actually thinking of that movie the other day, but it had nothing to do with VR, it's all because I happened to see a pic online of Sandra Bullock now compared to when she was in that movie and realized she was the love interest of Sylvester Stallone... who looks way older than she does now... kind of weird that you bring it up.
Hi, I haven't purchased the viewer yet because I still have some reservations: Would it be possible (with both the Quest 2 and 3) to watch a movie without the video window being inserted in a virtual or real environment? It wouldn't do me any good, on the contrary. I would just like to see the window of the film (or video on UA-cam) full screen with nothing around it and which remains still and does not deform in perspective when I turn my head. I understand that to many it will seem like blasphemy or at least a contradiction, because it is a VR viewer and was created to do that type of work, but I don't care. I'm looking for a good quality standalone headset that is just a headset when I want it. Is it possible, or do I have to move towards another type of device? Thank you. A greeting. Davide.
Honestly, I haven't used the app in a while, but many video streaming apps are available to watch through the Quest's Browser. For example you can open the browser and watch youtube just like you would on a PC
It has it's uses, but I have to admit I stopped using it for a while, easier to just watch on a tv, even if it seems smaller. I noticed they put most of their update energy into pushing their new VR device, but haven't bothered to update the actual app, unfortunately. But from my understanding the video format can go as high as 4K for certain videos on the Quest 2, personally I don't think I would notice a big difference beyond that. Forgot I had these videos set to hold comments, didn't see it until now. I'm pretty sure you just push forward on the right joystick, it will display an arch that you use to highlight a square or diamond to move to and release it.

Unfortunately, I can't. I tried and found that the video doesn't record. They have it set up that once you open the app the video goes black. It continues to record the audio but not any video, which is a shame because the environment is pretty cool, looks like a cardboard city. I was so disappointed after recording for 20 minutes only to play it back and see just a black screen.
Watching this in anticipation of the Quest 3. Excited to try Big Screen for the first time.

Can you make the screen ginormous like with Apple vision pro.
When using the Big Screen App, the screen or theater you choose dictates the size of the screen. Even their smallest screen is pretty huge, though.
