Other basic tips from another experienced Church of Annie member: 1.) When you back, don't leave the fountain without any passive stacks. 2.) Experiment with initiating fights with a stun from your W or Q. There's a time and place for each type of stun. 3.) Tibbers bugs out sometimes. If he ever refuses to do something, instead of using R try Alt + Right click. Works for other champions' controllable pets too and can be reassigned in the keybindings options. 4.) If you are forced to back while Tibbers is on the map, you can use him while you are recalling without cancelling your recall. You can even get kills without it cancelling your back.
The alt+click one is especially useful for taking inhibitors/nexus. Tibbers won't attack those with R, but will with alt+right click. Can be the difference between safe inhibitor takedown and dying for it.
Man, this brings so much memories back. When I got into this game she was my first main champion. I used to play her everywhere and build anything. Then I learned other champs and forgot about her. Now, plying in plat I thought this champ couldn't teach me anything else, but you proved me wrong. I think will pick her again. Thanks for the great guide!!

Hi I haven’t watched the whole thing so you may have covered this, but a cool tip from Cutemau is if you’re against a Morgana in a team fight, charge 3 stacks, and you can do the q trick where you e when the q is mid flight. Normally this would be a trick to stun, but the extra cool thing is that if the morg spell shields it, then don’t use the e and now you have 4 stacks and you flash ult the enemy team (since no spell shield).

Thx for the guide coach. I never rly got any interest in annie since I always considered her a very straight forward basic champion with a very linear kit and low skill expression. But I changed my mind with this video and I might try her out a few games. She kinda lacks the mobility that I favor, but I mained shaco for quite some time and I think I can apreciate and get used to her ult uses quickly. In the end even if I don't pick her up this will still help me quite a lot when facing her, since I m kinda new to mid lane and trying to learn all the matchups.

Guys there is a item that replaces the old liandry, which is demon embrace(gives hp ap and the %dmg). The following path would be: Proto>rylai>demon embrace

I am a low-elo silver trash and played Annie, I usually picked up some good wins on her and have a decent win-rate. Hoping this guide will help me with my climb to gold, currently working on some other aspects so I'm hoping if I learn this I won't have to worry about the mechanics or how a champion plays and I can focus more on wave-management, warding and jgl tracking. I fell into the trap of ludens and electrocute standard build so hopefully this Annie build will take my Annie play to the next level.

No problem at all man! You can go ultimate hunter, but for me personally the healing from ravenous feels super nice. Also if you use tibbers correctly, the CD inbetween tibbers is quite low. But try it out and see what works best for you
I started playing with your Annie build and tips, and my winrate started sykrocketing. I also played this build with a Garen duo, and it had great synergy.
hi coach ty for the video as always great content, but i have a question : how do u manage mana with the darkharvest build that only build dark seal for it? i tried the build 2 games and they went very well, but still i found myself out of mana a lot of times, one game cause i had an ekko jngl that didnt let me the blue all the time, the other i got almost all the blue but in the time between one blue and the following one i finished mana very quickly.
Only use E to stack passive, and use Q and AA's to last hit. Very rarely use W to stack passive and only use W when you get blue buff or you are sitting on a lot of mana
Early game rune setups only usually make sense because of the amount of aggression level and feeding in my games typically the amount of killing that happens in one of my average games is tremendous and often I have to get heavily involved even on an OK day to win games on Annie. Sometimes on a bad day not only do I end up getting behind but I have an intentional feeder on my team so I have to resort on extreme bush camping and nasty roams possibly even with Predator to gamble for a win. A good portion of my matches I have to gamble on extreme tactics sometimes even lv 1 or 2 in order to keep my team from losing their minds as they are often very impatient and toxic. I know this guy doesn't cover Veigar strategies but I am pretty sure someone covers Veigar strategies and refining Annie strategies (despite recent nerfs) is important to keep her as a reliable backup.
This is exactly the guide I needed but I'm sad that you made it a few months too early. :( I wonder how much of this changes with the new items, since most of this guide is built around the fact that you will be building protobelt and now it seems Annie favors liandries or ludens. ;__; Or would you still recommend the replacement item for protobelt? I'm so sad because I love these in depth guides and I really want to learn mid (I'm an adc/support main), but it's just so hard to move into mid since I don't know the match ups and I don't know how to trade well 1v1. Also, was this before the nerfs to TP or did you still take it even after they made the CD super long early on?
This champion quite literally is one of my top 3 mids in the game the others are Veigar and Talon granted not many know about the other 2 but I still use them on a reasonably regular basis. Annie is quite literally my flame thrower champion but I want to learn her at a more optimized level so when I take her to ranked after spending even more games grinding her out I have a high chance of success and am able to get a good number of wins along with minimizing any personal salt for teammates costing me games. (Yes my team still does cost me a fair number of games regardless of how fed I get or how many towers I manage to get unless its bots.)
Your approach reminds me a lot about Gordon Ramsay in terms of involvement. Those "beautiful" comments you do, overall excitement and deep attention to details. Like with Ramsay it really shows your passion to the game and what you do and this is inspiring on it's own not even taking the info you share into consideration. True coach, wish you all the best.
@@CoachCurtis it was rough. Saw your rune page and it made sense. I use quick cast on Annie so still trying to get her range down on some abilities. Of course it was into a Syndra. Got flamed pretty hard from a 3 man club qued together. Gave me crap for the build and all but I think with some practice I can make it work.
@@JW-cn3jt Yeah that is a really hard matchup :( Ideally in those matchups you play safe, try and minimize and cs as safely as you can till 6, and then once you get tibbers use it for contrl
*Constructive Critism* first of all very VERY good guide. just one thing I dont agree on. You said that going defensive is a mistake and you should never do it because we aren't considered as a threat anymore. But I think the ability to buy Zhonyas/Banshee's is a way bigger threat than not going defensive at all. I played Annie a bit before your video and always went Zhonyas or Banshee's (depends on Team ofc). After watching your video I started not buying those two items at all and I don't know I just felt waaaaaaay weaker because the enemy *insert literally every second champ* just flashes on me one shots me and I am lucky when I was able to get tibbers off in time. Ofc I am not a high elo Player ( just Gold / Plat) But I feel like this Guide should also help the low elo Players and NOT buying Zhonyas/Banshee's is a huge Mistake! (of Course that's just my opinion and Maybe its also just my playstyle to have Zhonyas / Banshee's). But as a low elo Player I consider being able to buy Zhonyas / Banshee's is way more of a threat than the Chance to one shot everything but also the Risk of getting one shot by everything. As I said very very good guide. Just wanted to say that one thing! :)

1:37:15 you could have placed the ward whiteout risking it there is a trick to place it in the middle of the big wall and it would buffer to the bush

You can go ultimate hunter, but for me personally the healing from ravenous feels super nice. Also if you use tibbers correctly, the CD inbetween tibbers is quite low. But try it out and see what works best for you
I started playing with your Annie build and tips, and my winrate started sykrocketing. I also played this build with a Garen duo, and it had great synergy.

My question is why not just start dark seal with potions? You don't need to back for items that are not your core and you can build hex much faster.

hi coach ty for the video as always great content, but i have a question : how do u manage mana with the darkharvest build that only build dark seal for it? i tried the build 2 games and they went very well, but still i found myself out of mana a lot of times, one game cause i had an ekko jngl that didnt let me the blue all the time, the other i got almost all the blue but in the time between one blue and the following one i finished mana very quickly.
Only use E to stack passive, and use Q and AA's to last hit. Very rarely use W to stack passive and only use W when you get blue buff or you are sitting on a lot of mana

Early game rune setups only usually make sense because of the amount of aggression level and feeding in my games typically the amount of killing that happens in one of my average games is tremendous and often I have to get heavily involved even on an OK day to win games on Annie.
Sometimes on a bad day not only do I end up getting behind but I have an intentional feeder on my team so I have to resort on extreme bush camping and nasty roams possibly even with Predator to gamble for a win.
A good portion of my matches I have to gamble on extreme tactics sometimes even lv 1 or 2 in order to keep my team from losing their minds as they are often very impatient and toxic.
I know this guy doesn't cover Veigar strategies but I am pretty sure someone covers Veigar strategies and refining Annie strategies (despite recent nerfs) is important to keep her as a reliable backup.

This is exactly the guide I needed but I'm sad that you made it a few months too early. :( I wonder how much of this changes with the new items, since most of this guide is built around the fact that you will be building protobelt and now it seems Annie favors liandries or ludens. ;__; Or would you still recommend the replacement item for protobelt?
I'm so sad because I love these in depth guides and I really want to learn mid (I'm an adc/support main), but it's just so hard to move into mid since I don't know the match ups and I don't know how to trade well 1v1. Also, was this before the nerfs to TP or did you still take it even after they made the CD super long early on?

This champion quite literally is one of my top 3 mids in the game the others are Veigar and Talon granted not many know about the other 2 but I still use them on a reasonably regular basis.
Annie is quite literally my flame thrower champion but I want to learn her at a more optimized level so when I take her to ranked after spending even more games grinding her out I have a high chance of success and am able to get a good number of wins along with minimizing any personal salt for teammates costing me games. (Yes my team still does cost me a fair number of games regardless of how fed I get or how many towers I manage to get unless its bots.)
Your approach reminds me a lot about Gordon Ramsay in terms of involvement. Those "beautiful" comments you do, overall excitement and deep attention to details. Like with Ramsay it really shows your passion to the game and what you do and this is inspiring on it's own not even taking the info you share into consideration. True coach, wish you all the best.

@@CoachCurtis it was rough. Saw your rune page and it made sense. I use quick cast on Annie so still trying to get her range down on some abilities. Of course it was into a Syndra. Got flamed pretty hard from a 3 man club qued together. Gave me crap for the build and all but I think with some practice I can make it work.
@@JW-cn3jt Yeah that is a really hard matchup :( Ideally in those matchups you play safe, try and minimize and cs as safely as you can till 6, and then once you get tibbers use it for contrl

first of all very VERY good guide.
just one thing I dont agree on.
You said that going defensive is a mistake and you should never do it because we aren't considered as a threat anymore.
But I think the ability to buy Zhonyas/Banshee's is a way bigger threat than not going defensive at all.
I played Annie a bit before your video and always went Zhonyas or Banshee's (depends on Team ofc).
After watching your video I started not buying those two items at all and I don't know I just felt waaaaaaay weaker because the enemy *insert literally every second champ* just flashes on me one shots me and I am lucky when I was able to get tibbers off in time.
Ofc I am not a high elo Player ( just Gold / Plat) But I feel like this Guide should also help the low elo Players and NOT buying Zhonyas/Banshee's is a huge Mistake! (of Course that's just my opinion and Maybe its also just my playstyle to have Zhonyas / Banshee's).
But as a low elo Player I consider being able to buy Zhonyas / Banshee's is way more of a threat than the Chance to one shot everything but also the Risk of getting one shot by everything.
