I just picked up a gallien Krueger 400rb iii bass head for $100.00 at a Local pawn shop I think it was a good deal I love the sound of these things thanks for posting the video
I had the same question! I think it is a matter of testing in pratice what sounds better to you, even though MB-500 have 220 extra-watts. In my case, I think MB-500 will be better because I plan to built a set with 4x10" + 1x15". But, I'm saying that because I already tested both in the same situation. Hope it is useful!

I have one of these. It sounds beautiful. Nothing more to say. It's a GK!
Really starts to shine when you crank both the boost and volume at the same time. Ungodly growl and overdriven grit.
Definitely found the amp I am going to invest in. Now I just need to find some cabs too. lol.
The E string always sound muddy with my 700rbii, Neo 410 and Neo115. Im using a Fender jazz bass active deluxe 4 string.

Class D of MB-500 makes it little plastic. Anyway i already bought castom tube AMP on EL-34

280 watts @ 4 ohms ain't shit. You'd have to turn it up all the way to get loud with a 4x10.

Watts does not equal volume. It's more about headroom and clarity.
