    I have been using the MB115-II for a few years (since the first year they started making them in the US again). I play a Sadowsky Metro 5 sting. I love the sound of this amp. Very versatile tone spectrum with EQs that really work :) I like a deep "feel it in my chest" tone and this does that really well. If I need "bright" it has never been a problem. No build or mechanical issues after more than 4-5 years. We have a MB 150S where I play a lot and although it's fine for quick and portable, I really appreciate the speaker configuration of the MB115. It is double the size and weight of the 150S though. My wife made a nice padded cover made of double cordura and padding so the amp has stayed very clean and unmarked. I hope this amp keeps up for some time because I love playing through it.

    Sweetwater should use this video on their site for the various MB / MBP Series stuff that they sell. It's the most in depth video on this series of combos anywhere.

    Nice review. To the point and no noodling despite having the skills to pop and slap for days.

    Hey Norm this is Patrick with Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale I've got an MB 115 series one with the red light syndrome. I tried to plug it into different outlets in different buildings and I still have the issue. I used to be able to tap the on-off switch and it would come blue but now it doesn't do you have any suggestions? Thanks God bless!

    I had a GK like that but 500 Watts. It was stolen. I was told they don't make that model anymore. Do you know the model number? Thanks.

      115s generally have a much rounder thump and 210s have more articulate highs, depends what ur shooting for

      I am going between the 12" and 15" as well. Leaning towards the 15" because it is a little more than I need and can grow into it. Any thoughts on that?

    • @crypticmystic3489
      @crypticmystic3489 8 років тому

      Daniel Durazo Michael Warner IMO, the 15" gives you a great warm tone that emphasizes your low end. It sounds fine by itself but I picked up a 12" in an attempt to have more pronounced high notes, which it definitely does. You can still get good high notes out of the 15" but you may have to play around with the eq a bit.

    • @dubswarner
      @dubswarner 8 років тому +1

      Thanks for opinion. I have the 12" sitting in my apartment right now. It sounds great and is louder than I expected. Having said that, I haven't taken into school auditorium to hear it in bigger venue. That's why I'm debating which combo amp - I need it for small cafeteria/auditorium for playing with elementary students. I ordered the 15" and will be returning the 12". The 15" will meet my current needs and give me wiggle room if we end up playing at one of the larger spaces on campus in the future. I think having the horn built into the 15" is a plus.

    Sadly, 200 watts will not cut it in the real world, unless you’re with an acoustic band. You push these things, they tend to fart out. I’ve had to use them many times and was always disappointed. Great tone, at low levels however. Bedroom volume only. A loud drummer will make you disappear....

    • @lk63
      @lk63 8 місяців тому

      This amp is 200 watts at 4 ohms, most combo amps are 8 ohms and only give you half the power unless you use a ext speaker cab.
