    The lumpy one is cool though! That’s great texture.

    Great hack! Thanks I'll try it, a lot cheaper than the crackle medium. :)

      Who knew right? Lol! Super easy if you have the patience to let it dry by itself. Ty!

      @@ScrappysRustics patience are not my strongest points. Lol. I would be the same. Dry that baby with heat tool. But after watching you I will refrain from it 🤣.

    Hi friend, thanks for trying this out for the rest of us! Just wondering do I have to add heat? If I use hairspray then cover it with chalk paint will it crackle on its own?

    • @ScrappysRustics
      @ScrappysRustics  Рік тому +2

      Hey there! You don’t have to use heat but it does seem to help it crackle a bit more. When using the Elmer white glue method I never use heat and let it sit while I sleep and wake up to beautiful crackle! Have fun if you give it a go! 👍

    Does it have to be hairspray from aerosol can or no? I imagine to get the evenness of the coat, you would need an aerosol can

      I’m not sure. I don’t own any other type of hairspray. Can’t hurt to try it.

    Does it work with vinyl paint as well

      I’ve never used vinyl paint so I can’t say for sure. Maybe test a tiny little something and see what it does. I’d love to know. 💗

    The problem I see is cleaning it, the hairspray will turn back into liquid once it interacts with water, which is underneath the paint.
    I had this very exact idea for airbrushing a negative effect, spray the image you want through a stencil with hairspray, remove stencil then and spray around the edge of the hairsprayed image with paint, wait for it to dry then wash away the hairspray with soapy water. Currently looking if anyone's tried it lol

      Very cool idea! You should totally try it! I have not heard of it myself. I’d imagine sealing it would solve the issue of the hairspray getting weird? If you do try it plz let me know. 👍

    Have you ever tried the crackled effect on metal or tin ?

    • @ScrappysRustics
      @ScrappysRustics  Рік тому +1

      I did! Metal pumpkin garland from walmart. I thought I uploaded here but I’m not finding it. I’ll see if I can find it later. It was easier than any other surface mostly because I put the hairspray on the metal and than one coat of paint.
