This is the best, and easiest, faux rust method that I've ever seen. Thanks.
Thank you so much 🙏
I could watch you all day, Natasa, you’re definitely my favorite for journaling. I’m new to this world and enjoying it so much. I purchased your book and I love it, so much information, so well written. I appreciate your life story and all that you’ve shared with us. I’ll be 70 years old in a few weeks and I’ve been a crafter all my life but never got into junk journaling, now I’m obsessed with it. You’re never too old to learn something new. You’re so talented. Thank you so very much for all your inspiration.
Me too
Beautiful. Thanks for making it seem a bit easier to rust things up. Your pup is calmed down well. He's bound to. You have a very relaxing voice. Tfs such a wonderful journal.
Personally, I don’t see how any of them were fails! I'm pretty sure that rust takes on its own distinct look depending on the metal that has rusted. I think they are ALL fantastic! Great video! ❤
Thank you for being my muse. I watch you create and it gets my creative juices flowing. I've been in such a rut since covid. (I'm an ICU RN) A three year rut. I started making ATCs again about 4 months ago and was looking for inspiration. I found your channel and got back into making junk journals. Thank you for inspiring me to create again. I really appreciate you. I have showed my appreciation too. I just received your wonderful book yesterday!!! Thank you so very much.
Wow, thank you so very much! Your comment means the world, and that's what this is all about! Thank you
Your intros are the best! Your tutorials are wonderful.
Thank you so much!
Well...here we go with idea number 9,369!
I must remind you that YOU have NO fails...only inconvenient miracles!🤣
Wonderful instructions and great ideas!👍❤️BFE
Thank you for sharing your inspirations with us. I make books for a charity project and sometimes i am low on motivation and watching you lifts my spirit.
I'm in the process of decorating 3 signatures in my very first journal. For some reason, the papers that are mostly for journaling are the hardest. This video was helpful and timely. I love the rust technique you've created here. It's gorgeous. 😍
I didn’t plan on liking the grunge look, BUT this entire book is just the right combination of faux rust and regular journaling pages. You should make more… I bet they will well. I would buy one like this as it’s well-balanced. Good job Natasa😊
I look forward to your videos so much you are my VERY favorite UA-camr! These are always techniques I have never seen before. ❤❤
Yay! Thank you!
I just love that you show us your mistakes as well as your amazingness
😊 thank you
It never ceases to amaze me that you take bits of this and that and turn them into works of art. Your faux rust method is brilliant but something anyone can do. Thank you for the inspiration!🌻
“Be careful with this you do not want to burn your house down.” I love watching you.
So beautiful like all your work Natasa! I was looking for your rustic book 📖 to purchase it! Someone is a happy camper with the grungy rustic book. Thank you for letting your creativity take its course and the fails are always victory’s!! I love all your videos, besides your creativity, your voice, your hands, your funny at times, just a genuine heart pours out from your videos! God bless🙏🏻
Gosh….. I love your tutorials ❤ Not only are they fabulous ideas, but you’re so thorough in explaining and keeping it very simple and easy to understand. Thank you ❤
Nik the Booksmith did this same technique many years ago, and it is one of my favorite rusting techniques. Thanks for reminding me about this. Your work is always inspiring. BTW, I asked for your book for Christmas. If Santa doesn’t deliver, I will treat myself. ❤️Had to add, I love seeing your sweet Banjo. He is precious!
The dog is the best!😂❤
Yay! It is Natasha Day! I would never have thought this look or technique, but the more you created the more my mind became a popcorn popper with ideas for my upcoming projects. Thank you muchly!😊
You’re so innovative, I always learn so much from your videos & I’m glad your puppy is fitting in very lovingly.
Always a pleasure viewing your channel...Your technique are FABULOUS and your instructions are clear & easy to follow...Thank you for sharing your creative process..................😻
You could have a side playlist doing ASMR flip-throughs. I love your intros! (And I love your projects too.)
What a fast and easy way to faux rust things! Thank you so much for the tutorial Natasa!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
I just think you're so inspiring and the best of all is that you make it so fun & easy + not having to purchase expensive products but making art with what we have around as living in countries where we have to apply currency exchange, shipping + high taxes make everything so so expensive. I just love all your ideas, art, colors you add to everything. ❤❤
Thank you so much!
This is another wonderful technique. Would be great for those who love Steampunk.
I really love how you explain the mishaps along the way & show how you remedy them.
Fantastic. The larger ones look fine to me...and likely you would cover parts of them in use. BEST rust idea I have seen. Can't wait to try this.
It's Treasure Day!
Thank you for sharing such an easy way of doing rusty look😊 you are truly talented. Banjo is precious...thank you for rescuing him.
The absolutely best method I have seen to create faux (aka health-safe) rust. Thank you!
I heartily disagree with you! There were NO fails in this video!! 🤩Everything looks great! We have cheap cinnamon in our US dollar stores, I wonder how salt might work, or other fine-powder spices. Will have to try this soon!
You, once again, are amazing!!! Such an inspiring project!! However, you have a magic ability to make me think I can do what you do, and then FAIL CITY!!! 😂😂😂
Banjo looks so so so spoiled!! You are right, that’s the life!!❤
Natasha, you have saved my life and boat load of $. I love ❤️ you girl. You never sease to amaze me. Thank you so much.
Great faux technique! A definite must try for people who love grungy effects. Thanks for sharing.
Super idea!! This would be a great element to add to a masculine greeting card, too! 😊
Beautiful work! Charming journal! The rust technique turns out so realistic looking 🤩🗝✨🦋🐶✨
Thank you! Cheers!
I love how original your ideas are.
Thank you for sharing this rust effect technique. Easy with great results. I’ll be trying this.
Whoa! TFS the rust effect. Your journal? EXCELLENT 😮
So glad you showed the teal. I couldn't imagine what that would look like and why you would suggest it. It looks like the patina of aged copper. Can't wait to try it.
And I'm also glad you didn't mention the cut-outs initially because the first thing I thought of 'rusting' were bunches of real keys. You know how we all have those keys we don't know what they're for? Well, I have them. I wanted to use them in my work, but they looked like boring keys and I couldn't think of any way to make them 'artsy'. Now I have a way. I. think I might need to rough them up with sandpaper of a file, first. Really looking forward to this project. Thank you so much, Natasha
Well, the grass isn't going to get mowed tomorrow. This would look cool on little picture frames as well as a number of other things 😂👍❤️ What you were calling foam, we call felt and it looks lovely on that journal cover! I have a bunch of that and now I need to try that too! You're always inspiring!
You make evruthing so simple. Thanks for sharing. I am relatively new to the junk journal world. I have been collecting things, purchsaed your book and now I need to get down to business a d " just do it"! This is a great hobby as I am an educator by day and crafter in my spare time.
This is GENIUS! I can't wait to try this, it's the best faux rust method I've seen!
Aged, distressed, worn, well loved and used - not dirty!😊
😍You are SO creative Natasha! Thank you for sharing this technique, I would've never thought of it! It has a very 'Steampunk', Tim Holtz kinda of feel to it. As a matter of fact, had you not shared with us that you made the rust elements for the cover yourself, I would've thought they were from a Tim Holtz collection! Just AMAZING work on your part! So inspiring! I never regret taking the time to watch your videos! I also learn something new and get inspired to create something more---you are such an ARTIST!💕
You are the most creative person I have ever watched
Love your technique. It’s easy to follow and fun. I’ve seen other tutorials for this but none are as easy, nor as quick as yours. Plus the added bonus of your quick wit! 💜 I had never done any JJ until I found your channel. You inspired me to be creative with my love of papers, inks and ephemera. To create something beautiful out of junk and waste! I’ve been laughed at for saving it until they’ve seen what comes from it !Thank you for sharing your talent with us so we can create from our hearts too! 💜
They are ALL FABULOUS, just like your videos!!!!!
Wow !! Certainly alot easier than other tutorials I've seen dear. Super simple and not alot of steps . They look absolutely amazing and you always explain everything so beautifully .I appreciate you sharing your talent with us Natasa . Tfs !! Crafty hugs and blessings .
Thanks so much 😊
So pretty. I really like how you performed surgery on the rips
I love all of this video. Love the rust and grunge and neutral.
You create wonderful things!
Instead of 'dirty' - a rougher version of vintage ? Very inspiring content, as usual! 🙂
You truly are the most talented person. Stunning Natasha!!
Oh WOW!!!!! This is the best ever. You are amazing!!! Thanks so much Natasha.
Definitely easier method than others I have seen
Great technique and video! I will be playing around with that. What you are calling foam is what I call felt.
Ok this is so cool, I’ve got to try this. Thank you Natasha for teaching us science class today.

Cool "rusty" things! And it probably smells good too. TFS 🤗
Natasa thank you for sharing this. You never fail to disappoint me.
I needed corners for a fabric journal I've done and cannot find any near to me in South Africa. I found a tutorial by Chasing Papers on making faux metal book corners. Very Happy with the end result. I don’t seem to be able to make my corners come to a nice neat point .
Thank you again for the inspiration you give us.
I think this needs an edit🙃
I love watching your videos and this technique is almost addictive because it allows you to experiment and try many things and the result is usually very satisfactory
👏👏👏großartige Ergebnisse...vielen Dank für dein Video und die Inspiration 👍😍
Beautiful!!! 😍 It really looks like little rusty pieces of metal! Total genius 🤯

BRILLIANT!!! I love this process and the results. Real rust is just not my thing and this is a simple budget friendly solution. Thank you so much for the inspiration!
Thank you! I agree about the real rust hehe, not a fan!
Banjo is getting so peaceful. Happy. And it looks like he’s bringing you just as much peace and happiness as you’ve given him. 😊 wonderful. Bow I watch to hear your voice, learn a little and see happy Banjo
I love all of them too. The variety and no rules is the love of junk journaling
Clever ideas. Thank you for sharing your time, talent and inspiration.
Thank you so much!
Cool fake rust and always nice to see Banjo in his happy, forever home 😀. Thanks for sharing your time, talents and inspirations. Take care and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
This process is so much more doable. I have wanted to try the rust but not how they showed to do it. Thanks very much.
This is genius🤩 no need on spending fortunes on special rust materials 🙃 thx 🎉
What a fantastic idea. Thank you for showing this idea. Love it.
your videos are so comforting... i might use this technique but i mostly put this on because my tonsils are so swollen i cant relax and this is totally helping me :)
Great tutorial. I love this technique. Your fails are gorgeous in their own way - just a different corroded look.
Thank you so much!
Wow, love your idea and tutorial on faux rust treatment. Your pieces look great, very authentic. TFS
Thank you :)
I love your introduction of this video, scrunching the journal was cool. I love the faux rust look. I always let mine air dry but may try the heat gun. Your journal is incredible. Love it.
Eres de lo mejor. Amo tus explicaciones y las diferentes tecnicas. Gracias por ayudarnos a crear cada dia. Saludos y abrazo fuerte Natasha. Desde Bariloche - Argentina......(of the translator)...... You are of the best. I love your explanations and the different techniques. Thank you for helping us create every day. Greetings and big hug Natasha. From Bariloche - Argentina.
That is so great! I've wanted a little rust here and there but I've heard that real rust is not good for humans so I've never used the real thing. Plus I'll bet your fax rust smells pretty good, too. Another wonderful project, Natasa!
Absolutely gorgeous. That rust method is do easy. Thank you
Awesome video! I absolutely love your talent! That rust is amazing. I also love how you stitched the tear in the paper and that stitch pattern is really cool. Your foam is felt, it looks soooo good. Thanks for sharing!
LOVE THIS!!! They look so real! TFS! Austin TX USA
Wow, these look so real, I was kinda shocked when you started with paper..lol I thought you were rusting up shinny metal. Wondering, would this method work on metal, maybe using alcohol ink instead of paint 🤔 ? Now You've gone and done it Natasha.... brought back the rusty ephemeral craze! I love how you hold back on the grunge, I agree much more appealing but still provides the essence. 💕💞💕
Amazing and achievable faux rust tutorial.Thank you so much for sharing.
Most welcome 😊 Thanks for watching 😊
