It is so easy to achieve a great look . Love layering lots colours. Key is really pressing the packing tape done hard before you pull off. 🌸 have a great day Sammie
I love simple. Thanks for this instructional! Packing tape idea. I leave it wrapped around a small pair of kids scissors I still had and leave with it.
That looks great. Thanks for sharing. I wonder if the tape with the paint can be used for other creative things. For example to stick it on glass (from an old window) or plexiglass at the back side. Then put a nice picture frame around it and you have modern art.
Very impressive!! I have a barn wood looking board like yours that I want to do something with, but not sure.. I'm turning my dining room color's turquoise and yellow, but I don't think I want to paint the entire board.. It's really rough n I don't have a sander.. Idk, I'll keep watching your videos until I find what I want and can do.. This will be my first time.. 😶
Hi, such a unique way to distress. I am practicing on some old kitchen cabinets. Can I do this with painted cabinets? I would layer paint, having my last color a metallic paint (modern masters) would that work? Also I have the good wax that I use for chalk paint could I not use that up? cheers, Jude
We are going to do this on “barn” door that we use for entrance into our bathroom. Should we seal the doors after the process? What sealant would you suggest if sealing the doors is the way to go? Thanks in advance.
help !! I am having problems my second time round. First was perfect but now I'm getting no removal of paint when peeling off tape? Could it be because I let the paint stay on too long? This is the only thing I did different from first batch? How can I fix this? Heat it up? Put another layer of wax and paint? Thanks Chris
@@OurUpcycledLife Thanks for that. I did try , didn't work too well, maybe I used too much wax or paint? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks Chris
Scraping the edges of the wood with the back of the scissor blade removed the dark stain and de-antiqued the piece, ie it lost any semblance of realism.

Are usually go to Home Depot and just pick out the closest colour that I can find to resemble a pumpkin

Thanks for watching ❤️ this was salready sanded when purchased but you could def give it a little sand before staining
Thanks for the tips.
Happy to help!
Thank you. Soooo cool!!!
Glad you like it! It is so easy :) Thanks for watching
Do you seal the wood with anything so paint chips won't fall off
Yes I seal with polycrylic sealer! Thanks for watching
@@OurUpcycledLife thanks

Should we seal the doors after the process? What sealant would you suggest if sealing the doors is the way to go? Thanks in advance.
I would water based polycrylic sealer
Thank you! We have finished the doors and they look great! We’re going to seal the doors tomorrow.

Is packing tape cellotape
Yes it is. We call it packing tape here and it is clear.
I want to do a multi colored flag. How would I go about making it look weathered?
Is it going to be a painted flag?
@@OurUpcycledLife yes painted and want to give a weathered look
I would used candle wax to deidre as the paint
Distress ! Lol
Seems pointless to paint 3-4 layers of colors.
I find it gives it more character
