Both players are good, Phil Hellmuth in tournaments and Durrrr in Cash Games. I'm without a doubt an huge fan of Durrrr and his style of play, and he DID play well this hand, however, Phil Hellmuth also has his merits, as he set a perfect trap VS an aggressive opponent, giving 0% change of reading his pocket Aces. That was a very big bad beat, it WAS NOT a wrong play of Phil's.
Funny how Hellmuth is mocking on how Durrrr played the hand. What's even more funnier is how Hellmuth won his first bracelet after he shoved All-In with Pocket 9's
"We will see if your around in 5 years" that was awlful. Ive had stuff like this happen to me a lot, just as other poker players have. Hellmuth just can not handle the luck part of poker. never could, never will.
durrrr is a fearless player who doesnt care about money, which can bite him in the longrun blowing his bankroll, but his fearlessness and aggression is what wins him money, but in this case in a heads up match, with a third raise with the blinds that low, and with it being phil hellmuth you had to have figured you were at least a 4-1 dog... but you can argue it either way if his play was rational or not...
you have good point. there're people who get mad when losing... Joe H., Devilfish, Scotty N, just to name a few... on the other hand, there're people who keep their poise and stay calm even during bad beat... Doyle B., Chip R., Greg R., Patrick A., Jennifer H., Jonny C., ... again just to name a few. what's different is their attitude.
Phil is totally right. Tom over played his hand. It was a fabulous play by Phil, he got Dwan to do exactly what he wanted him to do in raise him, he just got unlucky. But you cant blame Tom because he made a play with the 10's by pushing. If Phil would have pushed and Tom called it would have been a horrendous play. Tom is the 3rd best player in the world next to Ivey and Hellumth.
uh this kid, is pretty humble. he dosnt talk shit about ppl he soul owns at the table. Phil Helmuth, however, talks shit about ppl who buttrape him on a consistent basis.
i have to agree with durrrr its pretty standard play HU.....I love hellmuth but he needs to realize the game is evolving and the internet stars are gonna take over
Listen guys the truth is that Phil should have won this one. Im not saying that he's better but for a poker player he sure does get unlucky one hell of a lot of times. Its normal for him to get angry when he plays brilliantly and gets bad beats like this one.
And it's so funny that helmuth is saying shit like he's afraid of playing dwan because he's afraid of getting sucked out on again. He's just afraid that dwan will run him over, which he probably will.
The worse off player psychologically is the one who gets up and paces around as soon as they are both all in. He's the one who's more worried --despite being a big favorite. Hellmuth does NOT have the upper hand versus Durrr heads up, that much is clear.
All the pros are super-tight players, believe me. especially when they play with amateurs. their loose agressive style pays well against the other pros, at the final tables.
the hand was going to end that way anyway... lets say dwan flat calls thinking he indeed has the best of it going to the flop then phil either small ball bets the flop with the king out there and 2 small cards or checks intenting to checkraise.. either way if this hand got to the turn with standard raises and calls preflop then i would think by the turn the chips were going to hit the middle.. especially phil would of had 4 spades to the flush plus aces backed up... .
yeah, against a tight player like Phil, it wasn't a great move. However, Durrr has recently said he didn't know Phil's game that well, and retrospectively it was a slightly losing play. But for Durrrr's aggressive and loose game, pushing with 10s is pretty standard against most opposition in a HU match. Watchin Durrrr make three or four bets with complete garbage, he has to loosen his all in range. But, as you said, against someone like Hellmuth, it isn't a great idea
Young, cocky dwan ftw! No way would you everrrrrr hear him talk like this now that hes signed. This is also back when people thought ferguson was good, lol.
I was watching durrrr vs Hellmuth and this watch?v=HuKva8GUwBk simultaneously and i just couldnt stop laughing at both Durrrrrrrr Lets see if you will be around in 5 years.
Just to everyone who keeps saying 'Durrrr is gay' on these vids, Poker has nothing to do with having sex. Whether Durrrr likes guys or girls or whatever, he's a great poker player. Leave it at that.
as much as dwan is a good player it does seem he runs better than anyone else i know someone liek him like literally hits every thing every time - flush, straight yo know name it he wins - even in vegas on the eectronic roulette machiens he won over 400 dollars profit... all in on a king high board he calls with king 4 other person has ace king a 4 comes on the river.. he is tom dwan the 2nd
I'm proud Tom can stick up for himself, Hellmuth again looks like an emotional loser. Phil you wish he was just lucky, but hes good too... he does run hot though. Go Tom!
Durrrr is the man ! LOL Phil Hellmuth deserved the suckout , AND the challenge from a 21 years old boy who definataly is a better poker player than him .. Someone relly should some like that ; " Ok , i suck out this time . lets play another game , u pick the stakes and we plays as many hand as u want , i'll still win , so stop using the suckout as an excuse "
That Dwan is a punk. Cant even admit he is horribly outplayed. And as far as people calling him the best poker player in the world....they must be on crack. He doesnt even have 750k in tourney winnings yet!
LOL, Durrrr sucked out big time but man, Hellmuth is such a freakin' sour loser! Hellmuth could have at least cracked a smile, shook Durrrrs hand, and then went someplace private to have his hissy fit. I hate to say it, but this shit happens in poker. Deal with it!
Tom is a true gentleman. The greatest are almost always the most humble.
I like how he walks around like the king while chewing on his glasses
" Yes, Phil you're brilliant! You are going home, son."LOOLLLLLLLL
This is the right answer. Poker isn't a game of reading other people's minds, it's about getting it in with the right odds.

Funny how Hellmuth is mocking on how Durrrr played the hand. What's even more funnier is how Hellmuth won his first bracelet after he shoved All-In with Pocket 9's
and then there's Phil who looks like a real man in his Vanilla Ice drag.
I love how Durrr proposes Phil to play like 100 times to even out the luck factor.
love the music in the end... EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Let's see if you're still around in 5 years durrrr"
Good one Phil. Simmer down.
"We will see if your around in 5 years" that was awlful. Ive had stuff like this happen to me a lot, just as other poker players have. Hellmuth just can not handle the luck part of poker. never could, never will.
lol..."you're brilliant.. but guess what? you're going home, son..."
LMAO
durrrr is a fearless player who doesnt care about money, which can bite him in the longrun blowing his bankroll, but his fearlessness and aggression is what wins him money, but in this case in a heads up match, with a third raise with the blinds that low, and with it being phil hellmuth you had to have figured you were at least a 4-1 dog... but you can argue it either way if his play was rational or not...
thank you GOD for putting the verve music in there hahahahahahha...made it so awesome
Tom dwan is the present and future of poker.
you have good point. there're people who get mad when losing... Joe H., Devilfish, Scotty N, just to name a few...
on the other hand, there're people who keep their poise and stay calm even during bad beat... Doyle B., Chip R., Greg R., Patrick A., Jennifer H., Jonny C., ... again just to name a few.

The starting stacks were only 75 big blinds, thus Dwan's remark "That's standard. Learn to play heads up no limit."
LOVE how Durrr needles him on haha
I love Phil....LOVE HIM!!!
"would you have put in 3100?" haha im surprised phil dident lunge across the table at him
uh this kid, is pretty humble.
he dosnt talk shit about ppl he soul owns at the table.
Phil Helmuth, however, talks shit about ppl who buttrape him on a consistent basis.
i have to agree with durrrr its pretty standard play HU.....I love hellmuth but he needs to realize the game is evolving and the internet stars are gonna take over
Durrr may be the best in a while knowledge and gamble are hard to mix. Fearless. BUT he does get REAL lucky
Listen guys the truth is that Phil should have won this one. Im not saying that he's better but for a poker player he sure does get unlucky one hell of a lot of times. Its normal for him to get angry when he plays brilliantly and gets bad beats like this one.
the music killed it, did the poster add it in? If so good job haha
lets see if you are still around in 5 years....hmmmm love that one:)
the limp with AA was good though, thats how he got it all in preflop.. i think hellmuth is one of the best players in the world, in MTTs that is..
tom dwan shows respect and challeneges him for many matches, alot of respect there, dwan would kill him in any aspect of holdem .
you can understand phil being pissed off
surprise surprise, Phil never played him headsup
And it's so funny that helmuth is saying shit like he's afraid of playing dwan because he's afraid of getting sucked out on again. He's just afraid that dwan will run him over, which he probably will.
2009 is the year of the preflop play ;)
The worse off player psychologically is the one who gets up and paces around as soon as they are both all in. He's the one who's more worried --despite being a big favorite.
Hellmuth does NOT have the upper hand versus Durrr heads up, that much is clear.
Phil: What Happend if he suckout again.
Leanne: Thats poker not?
Totally pwned
The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony
"I did the quick re-raise, which I thought was pretty beautifull" lol
If Phil Hellmuth was a woman he would PMS 24/7.
lol, nice response, my comment was sarcastic cos of the other people sayin stupid, I knew people wud be like WTF! nice 4 step breakdown!
Phil is right, dwan is the sucker putting it in as a huge dog
All the pros are super-tight players, believe me. especially when they play with amateurs. their loose agressive style pays well against the other pros, at the final tables.
the hand was going to end that way anyway... lets say dwan flat calls thinking he indeed has the best of it going to the flop then phil either small ball bets the flop with the king out there and 2 small cards or checks intenting to checkraise.. either way if this hand got to the turn with standard raises and calls preflop then i would think by the turn the chips were going to hit the middle.. especially phil would of had 4 spades to the flush plus aces backed up... .
Phil was right, made a good play but makes it very easy to hate him.
its called metagame... durr wanted to look weak so he could get Phil to actually play him online.
he also wona lot before the poker boom when the fields were small
When he started poker on Full Tilt Poker, his Nickname was and still be Durrrr
yeah, against a tight player like Phil, it wasn't a great move. However, Durrr has recently said he didn't know Phil's game that well, and retrospectively it was a slightly losing play.

But, as you said, against someone like Hellmuth, it isn't a great idea
5 years later, Dwan is still around.
the only reason why I wouldn't knock durrr here is because phil started the talk after they sat down...
comentator is epic
ahah
"yeah phill your brilliant"
Young, cocky dwan ftw!
No way would you everrrrrr hear him talk like this now that hes signed.
This is also back when people thought ferguson was good, lol.
hellmuth wasn't willing to play him heads up because he knows he'll get destroyed
"This is why you lose money online." LMAO
I was watching durrrr vs Hellmuth and this watch?v=HuKva8GUwBk simultaneously and i just couldnt stop laughing at both Durrrrrrrr
Lets see if you will be around in 5 years.
If I was Phil I would have challanged him to a heads up fist fight.
dwan rocks, he got lucky here but he is the best
I love nothing more then to see PH and Matesow (?) get bad beat, nothin better
hellmuth wanted him to call. it was just an unlucky turn for him. he should just get over it.
"Son I would tell you this much son."
gota LOVE durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :D
Phil is to cocky for durrr not to hit that 10.
There's some validity to his statement though.
Bitter Sweet Symphony - The Verve
this is what you'll find on my dictionary as "ROFLCOPTERATAKATEPWNED"
phil doesn't want to play tom. phil likes money too much
dwan seems to be a nice guy
a bit nerdie but nice guy :p
Got to love 4:38 to 4:40 ! xD
I know that feel bro.
Just to everyone who keeps saying 'Durrrr is gay' on these vids, Poker has nothing to do with having sex.
Whether Durrrr likes guys or girls or whatever, he's a great poker player. Leave it at that.
hellmuth so prevedible... i would have fold after he did the tiny raise.
1:21 .. priceless
King of spade gives Tom a Full house, wich-as we know-beats the Flush.
durrr is such a thug, he knew it was a suckout, and ever offered a rematch, he'll play anyone, anytime
as much as dwan is a good player it does seem he runs better than anyone else
i know someone liek him like literally hits every thing every time - flush, straight yo know name it he wins - even in vegas on the eectronic roulette machiens he won over 400 dollars profit... all in on a king high board he calls with king 4 other person has ace king a 4 comes on the river.. he is tom dwan the 2nd
I think hes only being arogant because the way phil acts.. it dosnt seem to b too bad lol
I'm proud Tom can stick up for himself, Hellmuth again looks like an emotional loser. Phil you wish he was just lucky, but hes good too... he does run hot though. Go Tom!
Awesome vid lol :D
durr online winnings 2008 just on FullTilt: 5,6million
Honestly im 100% certain that hellmuth would go broke if he plays dwan HU for like 100k hands.
this is priceless
ROFLOL, BRiNG ON THE PIES MATEY
phil doesnt understand fold equity, it was a good play by tom
aahhaahahhaha i love helmuths whining its hilarious
I wonder if there's a durrrr video on youtube where this has not been mentioned.
Durrrr is the man ! LOL
Phil Hellmuth deserved the suckout , AND the challenge from a 21 years old boy who definataly is a better poker player than him .. Someone relly should some like that ; " Ok , i suck out this time . lets play another game , u pick the stakes and we plays as many hand as u want , i'll still win , so stop using the suckout as an excuse "
lolol at people saying durr sucks
it was a pretty much standard play from both of them imo
everyone sucks out on Phil, he should be used to it by now
That Dwan is a punk. Cant even admit he is horribly outplayed. And as far as people calling him the best poker player in the world....they must be on crack. He doesnt even have 750k in tourney winnings yet!
haha i love this kid
Durrrr is a robot guy he win with luck not with skill he look ever over... hmmm

Phil is scared to play him
hahahaha
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Phil himself won with going all in with pocket 9s against Chan at the 1989 WSOP :D
"people only reraise with QQ KK AA or AK?"
*BEEP* wrong you fail BIG TIME. thanks for playing though did you have fun?
