thanks for your insight on a nosebleed headsup no limit hold'em game, I'm glad that your playing in micro stakes ring games has allowed you to comment on what these guys were thinking
because he is one of the most respected high stakes players, one of the few that is open with sharing strategy. For those who really appreciate poker it is a rare treat to listen to a winning high stakes HU specialist sharing his insight (most of the great players don't like to give anything away and haven't done so since the games started getting worse in 2006). I can deal with a grating voice for those reasons
Pretty sick. I've actually made the same type of play before when I was almost certain my opponent was drawing and then missed, and got them to fold getting ridiculous odds on a call.
Of course it's a great bluff. Dwan had upwards of 5 to 1 to call that river but Marcello read him so well that he knew he would fold. Awesome play by the Italian.
The entire heads up between Dwan and Marcello is one of my favourite and one of the most beautiful I've ever seen! Anyway in this particular hand, Marcello made a great read and a spectacular bluff !! GRANDISSIMO ! :)
I wonder if in preparation for this match Marcello went back and reviewed recent sessions and found that Dwans 1.3 pot sized AI riv shvs had been bluffs and that when he beat almost nearly all in it had been hands. Therefore he would know that with Dwan knowing this that he would likely try this exact trip barrel move on this kind of a board fta and he would pounce on Dwans expected near AI R bet and would just pick it off with the all in shove that was seen in this vid.If so then brilliant play.
It was genius given that his opponent is Dwan and that he made sure his line was perfect so that when he came all-in over the top it was totally believable. The only thing was the insta-shove off Dwan's final barrel. He should've waited a beat before shoving, how quickly he did it was the only thing that could've been taken as weakness, but Tom was in no position to call anyway.
Yes, but presumably Marcello had a read on him that made him quite certain that Dwan was bluffing. Maybe the raises before the river allowed him to narrow down the hand that Dwan was holding.
The play worked, but just calling on the turn was the crazy thing. Because, as dwan said, he's going to go all in on the river a lot of times in that situation.
Great play here by Marcello on the river. I also think it was a great play by Dwan even to bet on the river knowing that Marcello could have a monster there. But once Marcello re-raises he obviously can't call, but what a great call that would have been if dwan made it. call of the century for sure lol.
@ModeLTU Yup. If that was his plan, then it wasn't well thought out at all. That was why Dwan was so stunned... he could never imagine playing that hand that way.
In Doyle's book it states even if u are pot committed if u know you are beat you fold. This is a prime example of this statement. Dwan knew there was 0% chance for him to win. It was just Marcelo's bad play, because if Dwan had A high he would have called. But I think Marcelo just thought he was going ro straight didn't catch it so he was going to get the pot anyway with the all in
Marcello said that he decided that he was gonna play this hand the way he did at the start of the hand, which is a pretty donkish thing to do.. I mean, he didn't even check what the stack sizes were, so if Dwan had anything at all, he would have called as he was getting like 6 to 1.
why is this dwan guy famous? it is amazing how when someone successfully bluffs like they did something incredible. great awareness, quit analyzing it like it was tiger woods or lebron james.
The guys at the end with the tea pots and wine glasses filled with water... lmfao. Also, haha @ that douche kid, that's what he gets for tapping his chips and being cocky.
Lately, I'm playing pretty much durrrr online.. winning a ton of 1.50 dollar sit'n'gos. Play a lot of pots, very aggressively and stuff. Worked out well. But guys like luckexpress are so dangerous .. especially when they raise or reraise all-in every river, it makes it so hard for me to continue my agressive style, but when I tighten up, he starts bluffing me. Very difficult for a newb like me to adjust my play..
@ModeLTU i agree, it seems like such an incredible bluff on the river for a mere 40k more as tom dwan is calling with anything legit, but committing yourself to 'that play' from the flop is suicide and trying to milk another river bet from dwan is suicidal too, i think he should've trusted his instincts on the turn and moved in then
@kimvalones123 the commentator with the nerdy voice is Isaac Haxton, one of the best online heads up players under the online name LuvtheWNBA. He's not as funny as Gabe, but his own view on poker and level of thinking is one of the best around.
Issac Haxton is fucking awesome, and is an insanely talented player...He's got a pretty unique voice yes. One which you kind of have to just learn to like. Not really the vocalization of the voice but more so the wisdom and enormous levels of poker knowledge of the delivery is what makes him great and potentially very profitable to listen to...
3:45 "I did save myself a little by not shoving the river at least" lol
i cant decide this is a sick bluff or the donkiest move ive ever seen in my life.
Look on Dwan's face is priceless.
TOM DWAN LOOks like he is from MIDDLE EARTH
tom got durred
thanks for your insight on a nosebleed headsup no limit hold'em game, I'm glad that your playing in micro stakes ring games has allowed you to comment on what these guys were thinking
I still come back to this. theres never been a better play in heads up...
lol durrrr was speechless in the interview
3:51 take that Dwan
wuhu that is really something special cant get enough
this guy sounds like he's about to cry
Lol they're sitting there sipping tea
wow that is really something special cant look away
Christ. That guy sounds like he's gurgling with whisky.
Dwan: "I'm so confused" lol
damn he feels so owned it's delectable. Ty marcello
i love how they all sit around discussing hands over tea and scones at the end... jesus.. you would have to pay me to watch another one of these..
love the way the dealer smirks when she sees the cards marcelo had :DDD
Durrr getting durrred....Priceless

Pretty sick. I've actually made the same type of play before when I was almost certain my opponent was drawing and then missed, and got them to fold getting ridiculous odds on a call.
Its incredibly rare though
Well played, sir.
sick
sickest bluff EVER
8 6 is one of the hands I have seen Tom play again and again, too.
Those chips are flippin HUGE!
duurrrrrrrr!!!
"Insta muck on the river"... hahahahahaha.
This is the best bluff in my opinion.
Neil and Roland = Bevis and Butthead
lol nice one
donk question- what hand was marcello representing? full house?
Also.. is marcello some rich businesman or something or actually a very good player?
sick.
Damn that took guts!!.
Their crumpets are currently in the toaster :)
Pretty sick bluff with so little fold equity
Of course it's a great bluff. Dwan had upwards of 5 to 1 to call that river but Marcello read him so well that he knew he would fold. Awesome play by the Italian.

coomentator sounds like screetch from saved by the bell
LOL that's Ike Haxton and your right
If my doctor ever told me I had 6 months to live, I'd want to spend it with that commentator... because it would be the LONGEST 6 months ever!!
I wonder if in preparation for this match Marcello went back and reviewed recent sessions and found that Dwans 1.3 pot sized AI riv shvs had been bluffs and that when he beat almost nearly all in it had been hands. Therefore he would know that with Dwan knowing this that he would likely try this exact trip barrel move on this kind of a board fta and he would pounce on Dwans expected near AI R bet and would just pick it off with the all in shove that was seen in this vid.If so then brilliant play.
very very nice hand
WHAT A GUTSY MOVE BY MERCELLO
that hast to be one of the weirdest bluffs ive seen so far ^^
Look, there eating tea & crumpets

commentator sound like he's been smoking some of that good stuff.
yes, yes they are.
Great play here by Marcello on the river. I also think it was a great play by Dwan even to bet on the river knowing that Marcello could have a monster there. Durrs initial reaction of the flop had to be why the guy did bluffed like that
Yes
that's weird i thought dwan checked the flop also, but it's actually the card flipping graphics in line with his hand
"MISSISSIPPI BLUFF"
yah i agree, worked out here but its rare any opponent is doing this with air
The commentator has a titling voice
lol at their tea
You just got Durrrred
lol. they are having tea.
@nybombs so far you've gotten lucky more times than you havent you mean?
tom clearly felt humiliated there.
That's Isaac Haxton, one of the top players in the world today.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂omg brilliant
what does the 82% and 15% mean at 1:11? Is it the chance of winning?
Yes. It is the percentage you that gives you outs to win
If you never play back with air, a player like Tom Dwan will run right over you, especially in a heads up match.
Durr got durred
Haha durrrr..was like what bahahah
Is there a story behind those four R's in his nickname?
What is a "fake" deep voice?
hey thats my tv in the back
the sickest thing about the play was that he shoved in for only like 40k more, because now dwan has to call with pretty much anything but total air
@ModeLTU Yup. If that was his plan, then it wasn't well thought out at all. That was why Dwan was so stunned... he could never imagine playing that hand that way.
If Dwan would had an '8', Marcello would have been called ''donk'',
but because Dwan had nothing, he is considered as ''sick'' raising him with K9
@TobiKooiman It's actually Isaac Haxton and his voice sounds almost exactly like Jimmy Fricke's
0:58 THATS A MONSTER on the turn.....
Ike Haxton really should consider a career as an airplane pilot.
LOL HOly Toledo"
The dealer is fucking hot
1:47 "this feels like a real heads up match.." no shyt
@EarlZMoade so how did he lose when he had 100% chance of winning?
Jam B. He folded
me too she is fine!
That dealer is hot. Durrr was clearly distracted by her lol

Also, haha @ that douche kid, that's what he gets for tapping his chips and being cocky.
it did look like he tapped the table and checked but it was just the card animation

"Only $48000 to call"
Yeah cuz that is nothing
@kimvalones123 the commentator with the nerdy voice is Isaac Haxton, one of the best online heads up players under the online name LuvtheWNBA. He's not as funny as Gabe, but his own view on poker and level of thinking is one of the best around.
Watch him on High Stakes Poker: he consistently makes great plays against the best in the world. He engenders fear in the best.

durr jam the river bro
"It's awlso a good hand to semi-bloff with on this flawp becuz if you hit a king or a kween that's a munstur on the toorn.
Pot odds only work, if you have a another card coming or have a hand. 5:1, on the river, when you got nothing means, you have 0% equity.
Dude I'll take Isaac haxton voice anytime if I get to have his poker skills and knowledge to..
@marvin8dabes yeah...they usually that hot... got to make a player wonder whats the flop like down there
THERE IS SOMETHING TERRIBLY WRONG WITH THIS HAND
