    All who think that PH did not evolve his game since a few years and is stuck in his oldschool style poker should watch this match. It was by far the best play ever vs one of the greatest heads up and overall poker players, Tom Dwan.

    Phil played this poker match PERFECTLY! He played all of his hands without discussing them. If he played like this in all of his tournaments and cash games, without literally telling people whether he is weak or strong, he would be a MONSTER to deal with! He is still great, don't get me wong, but I think he would be much better if he played just like this every time. Way to go Phil!

    when i watched "the suckout" years ago i always wondered if these two would meet again and really play some poker who would come out on top, and you would think dwan's style would just steam roll hellmuth, but phil is the best to play the game and people need to realize that

      yes you are correct, in phils eairler cash game play style, he was really gettin steam rolled by everyone. But lately phil really adjusted his super tight image in cash games and man, you should see him play in recent cash games, he is really aggressive and its almost like a new phil. this particular game i think was the 'new phil's" comming out party

  • @AxelAlexK
    @AxelAlexK 8 років тому +31

    If they played a headsup cash game over 12 hours I doubt phil would come up on top. To hit a boat with 9-5 when durrr hit trips was a little ridiculous. Although I'll admit Hellmuth made some good plays. But this really says nothing, the variance in these tournaments is through the roof. They'd have to play 50 of these same matches before we could have an idea of who was the better heads up tourney player.

  • @ThomasLinnaneMusic
    @ThomasLinnaneMusic 10 років тому +17

    Phil's blowups are a huge part of the entertainment for the poker world. But when it actually comes down to the respect of players who give him respect as well, Phil is a very classy guy. I know people get caught up in the antics, but outside of the cameras, or even in this video, Phil is a respectful guy who loves the game.

    • @oiyou15

      Nah that's rubbish, Phil isn't classy. It's easy for him to be really nice and respectful in victory, but it's not so easy to be respectful in defeat, and it's in defeat when people show their true colours and class. Do you really think Dwan would have got the invite to meet his dad, and be called the best in the world by Phil had he won? Not a chance, it'd have been the same old 'OH MY FK GODD, HE CALLED ME WITH AA?!?!?'.

    I think Hellmuth deserved this, he played in a new way to his own to adapt to Dwan's playstyle and it payed off. Not only that but he didn't pull a Tony G at the end by gloating, probably because he knows how it feels and had a moment of empathy. Like other people have said though, he is kinda a bad winner.

    Tom Dwan couldn't give any less of a shit about playing this heads up match. He pulled an allnighter and was gettin Lit in Vegas all night (lit=drunk, sort of a slang where Im from). He's a simple man, all he wants is the money fuck the fame. This headsup match was all about competing for ego, and Tom dwan clearly didnt give a shit, pulled an all nighter and was playing heads up at a poker level 1 and clearly was sleep deprived and impaired. Why? because he's not about competing for ego and swollen pride. You want to see Durr take it seriously, watch the big money cash games. That's also where you see helmuth getting spanked like a baby seal by durr. FactsOnly.

    Dwan is just so good and so ruthless, that I actually found myself rooting for Phil. What is the world coming to.

    he really showed respect for dwan. i'm very surprised. the truth is that dwan is an all around great player and its about time that the old pros acknowlege it.. tom always shows class to the other players and he should be treated the same way.

    dwan is a upcoming star and yes the pros have had problems against hes style,but now when they have learned his style it not gonna work i think...this year he is down over 3 millions in full tilt and more to come after durr challenge against patrick...the thing is he played like a beginner last year against the pros in the tv shows, and they didnt now what to do..but know i think most pros that play high stakes beat him..but he have allot of luck...he allmost allways get lucky on river

  • @snitox

    Dwan's weakness is that he really wants to win.

    yes and no, i think phil did a good job smoothing things over for last year...he could have rubbed it all in his face but no. Either way...they are 1-1

    @mrt110883 It said "raise to 68,000" at the bottom so you have to assume that is what Dwan had at the start of the hand. They both started with 80,000, so Phil only had him 92,000 to 68,000.

    phil talked good about dwan because between the last match, dwan did a lot in that short amount of time in high stakes cash games beating and owning the best winning millions, things hellmuth can only dream of doing - Dwan is the best

      +Brandon chilian Yes he is still making money playing poker, doing what he wants. He cares about making money Phil cares about fame. Durrrr didn't want that he is happy playing how he is now.

      you fanboys have internet and UA-cam users
      you also can uploading some of Phill's victories
      it's mean nothing
      finally phill wins on UA-cam
      wtf

    • @Sweetluckk
      @Sweetluckk 8 років тому

      Well you see , phil hellmuth is actually a really good player but since his temper gets the best of him, that's mostly what you see of him on UA-cam, so that's probably what he meant by "yes Phil won on UA-cam"

    • @Yusufsanad
      @Yusufsanad 8 років тому

      Sweetluckk he is one of the really big players in the world it's obvious
      and he is in top five in history maybe
      But this sentence is annoying as f**k
      " finally Phil hellmuth win on UA-cam "
      IDK why there's no one fan for him uploading some of his wins
