    regarding the AA vs TT hand:
    phil: "it does leave a sour taste in your mouth"
    tom: "whatever, it's one hand"
    pretty much sums up the mindset of both players

    I really believe this is the best I have ever seen Phil Hellmuth play. Playing Tom Dwan is a huge challenge, and he couldn't approach it in a better way. He's 3-bet shove preflop with 63 shocked me. He really showed the world that when he's super focused, he is the best NLH player in the world, just like he says. Just a shame we cant see the whole match.

    This is one of the absolute best games i've ever seen Hellmuth play. It shows the talent that he has. If he could just play like this more regularly I think people would have more respect for his game.

    I agree with you. I just think that even people that are not famous that you may not even know could be just as good as Dwan or Hellmuth. There are literally thousands of great players out there in the world.

    There might be talents as big as Dwan, but remember Tom Dwan have played the highest stakes with the best players for years and showed a huge profit. There is no way a up-and-coming player would beat Dwan right from the bat.

    Phil steamrolled Dwan here. He got better cards as well, but you gotta give him credit for some perfectly-timed bluffs. It takes a lot of courage to make those kind of moves, especially against a hyper-aggro opponent.

    dwan is always going to be at a huuuuuge disadvantage in a tournament style game because he can not use 'unlimited' chips as a huge ally....thus intimidation and aggression is very limited in these types of games....in a cash game Durr absolutely demolished Phil each and every time

  • @NathanMessengerTV
    @NathanMessengerTV 12 років тому

    I don't know which match you were watching. Phil clearly outplayed Dwan in this one and also had him beat the year before when he got lucky hitting his 2 outer. At least the kid learned some respect and finally admitted it was a mistake. Judging by their friendly conversation it seemed like they had gotten to know each other better by the time. However, it might be true that Dwan thinks he is better, but the record shows another picture. Dwans style is good online bu not in the real world.

    ya i don't believe Dwan can beat Hellmuth. Hellmuth has to good of a read on him. Even in cash games Dwan has had a hard time with Hellmuth. Hellmuth wont play Dwan online heads up cause Dwan wants to do at least 2 to 4 tables. He wont just play 1 table.

  • @INear1

    Hellmuth knows Durrrr is probably better than him, but you cannot argue with Phil's results to date. They both are good in their areas, hellmuth=tourney pro durrrr=cash game pro

    @fliptthescript 15 років тому

    you got to be fair though. Every flop that came out helped helmuth and nothing really hit for dwan. He hit a set of 9s at the end and helmuth had a full house. What skill do you really need when you have hands like that? There both top line players but so far helmuth i think has out played him in tourney play and dwan out played him in cash.
