Thank you So much for this tip man! I ordered them. Installed them (only took like 15 minutes including calibrating. It is So much smoother but stronger. Such a great jmprovment on the original brakes. Very easy DIY. Looking for some further upgrades as well. Considering to upgrade the range with the chi battery to go on propper trips. If anyone else has some cool upgrade ideas for the ZX Please let me know!😊 Anyway. Thanks for the tip And easy diy turtorial. You earned my sub big time! greetings from the Netherlands!
These are hybrid brakes as they are still cable actuated. Hydraulic brakes don't have cables, they use fluid instead. So only the calipers are hydraulic.
The ENTIRE point of a hydraulic brake system is to replace the stock brake line “wire” with hydraulic fluid. Fluid is superior because it doesn't stretch like the wire.
Great to see an option to install hydraulic without messing with the oil. Although I’m guessing bleeding the oil in the calipers is recommended very year or so.
@@SESSIONS73 Hey Man. Just installed actually. Couldn’t do it before. Yes. They seem to work great. Thank you for the $40 bucks option instead of $200... Keep it up on the videos. Cheers!
Hey! Thanks for this video as I wanted to upgrade to hydraulic brakes for my new ZX but wanted to keep the brake switch. I did order the juintech ones as I couldn’t find the ones you’ve got in the UK and do cost a little more but that’s fine! Seems dead easy to do and thank you very much! I may also upgrade the front rotor to a 203mm as the stopping power will be much better. No real point doing both as 80% of the stopping power is at the front of the rider. Maybe you could try 203mm rotor at the front and let us know what you think?
I have a ZX and I bought these hydraulic brakes. unfortunately the rear pads are sitting slightly above rotor which causes the pads to wear unevenly. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Hey bro. I have the ZX and want to upgrade my brakes. The back brake is completely broken and wire is torn, so I will need new wire, new caliper and new brake levers? Could you please help me find a complete set for a whole new brake set that will fit? 🙏

I'd love to visit sometime. I only had these on for a short while before I sold the bike for an upgrade, but they work well and I've seen others comment that they do too.
@@SESSIONS73 Hydraulic disc brakes use a sealed fluid system to transfer the braking force from the lever to the caliper. The ones you are showcasing are cable actuated. If the piston uses a hydraulic reservoir that doesn’t mean it’s a hydraulic brake. It just means the manufacturer is playing a little game of semantics. There is a big metal cable that runs the length of the bike that has to be mechanically pulled in order to brake. That’s a cable brake.
I understand your point, and I feel like I am pretty up front in the video about how they work differently than your standard hydraulic brakes. Either way, they feel a lot better than the brakes that come stock. Not trying to mislead, so thanks for your comment in helping clarify.
Thats what i was wondering. The whole point of hydraulic is the brake lines making for essentially zero loss unlike cable and their usually very flexible housing. You could upgrade the housing to stiffer ones if super73 uses standard ones, and they'd run you maybe 20-30 bucks, but would reduce some of the sponginess that comes with cable brakes. Dont quite see how the little reservoir would be doing anything. The normal mech lever is already linear so not much that can be improved. Maybe a bit less friction because the cylinder is more free floating. Though cleaning a potentially clogged up normal mech cylinder probably would do as well

Wanted to thank you for this video. Just got a Z-Miami and upgraded to these brakes today. It's definitely a big difference!!! 👍😁👍
Awesome! Thanks for dropping the comment. Others will find it useful.

Right, Cable Actuated Hydraulic Pistons. I believe I state that in the video... I'd have to go watch. :D

True, but you get some nice pressure with the Hydraulic caliper. Anyway, it was an easy swap, but a who hydraulic system is superior. I agree.

The brakes say its for 160mm rotors but Super 73 ZX's are 180mm break rotors? Do those exact brakes fit on the Super 73 ZX?
A bike mechanic told me that as long as they don't overlap the rotors, you're OK.
since its hydraulic doesn't it need like some sort of fluid or is this one different
It has a reservoir in the caliper that is actuated by the cable pull.
I love ur vids man will this break work with the S2 model or only the ZRX?
Thanks! You wouldn't want to put these on the S2 or RX. The brakes that come with the bike are nicer.
the manual of the super73 ZX says that the stock brakes are hydraulic, so are they not?
Nope, mechanical.
I lost my charger and I don’t know what type of charger it is where can I get a new one?
ChiBatterySystems sells a Super Fast Charger. You can find the link in my description.
the guy at the bike shop said I have to buy an adapter with it also? is that true? if so could you tell me which one?
I don’t recall. I believe I just mounted it to existing mounts.
Where are these brakes on Amazon?
There’s a link in the description.
What kind of tail light do you have on it?
It was battery powered from Amazon.
@@SESSIONS73 is it possible to send me the link? I am having trouble finding one that's not mounted to a seat post of a traditional bicycle

Do you know if this will work for Super73 S-1?>
I think it will.
Does it work with the Miami?
It should. I don’t think they’ve switched much up besides the color.
what is the size of the rotor?thanks
180mm
Do you know where I can find replacement brakes for a s1?
I just looked up the eManual and found the part for my S2. I am sure Amazon or a local bike shop has what you need.
After 9m how are they holding up
I no longer have this bike, but other comments are saying they’re holding up great after making the switch.

Lol
it says 160mm rotors in the description, the zx has 180mm rotors, does it have enough space ?
It does! Plenty of space.
Would these breaks work on the z1?
They should work with most mechanical brakes. Just make sure the rotor is wider than the pads.
@@SESSIONS73 did they work on the Z1?
Errr.... these aren't hydraulic. They are cable actuated disc brakes. C'mon man.
You just replaced one cable brake for another.
No no, there is a hydraulic reservoir in the brake case. The cable actuates the hydraulic pressure to press the pads against the disc.
