I just got this for my boyfriend for Christmas and I got a bottle for myself. Such a fantastically mature bottle. Not mature from an age perspective (although that hits a sweet spot), but from the perspective that it’s not trendy, it’s not flashy, it’s not the latest finishing process or packaging. It’s just damn. good. whiskey.

Picked up this bad boy a few weeks ago, and backed it up before I even cracked open the first one. Smart move - it's good stuff! Perhaps my favorite WT so far. I didn't get the cherries you did, but I sure did get a lot of the oak barrel and the spice notes, as well as "creamsicle" and even some "butter" (like poundcake). "I'm just gonna assume you're ready." LOL! 3:47 More LOL!
I cracked mine yesterday and am drinking it tonight as well. I tasted it against regular WT101 tonight and it is so much better. It was a little sharp on the first pour last night but is mellower tonight. It might be a good candidate for additional aging in a barrel or with an oak aging stick thing.
Lucky enough to grab 2 bottles at a drop. Setting one aside as the first backup I've ever bought in my early bourbon journey. Excited to pop the other bottle, with family, on the holidaze.🎉

I think it is one of my top 5 bottles for 2024 when you factor in what you get for the price. So often I am underwhelmed after paying more for a bottle and just getting ok whiskey. I enjoyed ever sip of this with a satisfaction of knowing I only paid $50 for the bottle.

We slipped off to the WT distillery during the KY Bourbon Festival. Jimmy and his missus were at the door, so I figured I’d pick up a 70th for signing while there. They were out! 😮 However, I did get a MK Voyage, but and had it signed! I also bought a worth while pour of 70th Anniversary while there! Delicious!

Oregon State Store $50. I really enjoyed it right from the beginning, sometimes a Bourbon will "grow on me" or is it the post uncorked oxygen transition. Totally agree with your review Matt! I am a long-time fan of WT and I really love this bottle! Is it a top 5 Whiskey of the Year contender? Hell no, but its delicious and for $55 /bottle ( or less ) its an absolute STEAL! This is one of the few releases where I went out and immediately bought a backup bottle to serve my guests for the upcoming holidays. Cheers!
Bevmo has is for $99🤯🤯 most stores had it for $54-64 and they are gone in no time. Costco got them in on Friday for $40. Picked up a few bottles and it is very deliciousi drink this everyday and not think to get anything else.
Unfortunately it just wasn’t for me. It was super earthy for my palate on the finish. Luckily it’s sitting on shelves in my home town so I might pick up another bottle just to see if there is a difference. Also it was great meeting you in St. Louis. I hope your DoorDash orders are full of Starbucks coffee and the surprise Taco Bell order. 😂
That's the standard bottle they sell in Japan for a little over $20. I've blinded them and cannot tell the difference. Japan gets all the 8 year and the 12 year.

Am I a terrible taster lol? I don’t get any cherry on this or the ‘funk’ I find on my RB BP…on the 70th I get some honey, oak, a little spice, and like a smooth dark flavor. Kind of like a chocolate, but now that I think of it, possibly like the secondary flavors in one of those cocktail cherries in some aspects.

Can't find a bottle in western New York and my local store can't get any. A very large liqour store 40 miles away only got a single case.

Costco got it. All fully allocated doesn't hit the shelves here for less than 125% secondary, but Costco helps us feel less secluded

I was amazed at how good this bottle is. In my opinion it’s a noticeable difference compared to standard 101.
