The most ridiculous thing is when museum stores hold lotteries at secondary pricing. I went to one and BTAC was $400! People bought em, so they’ll keep doing it. Anyway, congrats and good on you for sharing it with the owner and friends! Cheers!
Big congratulations on getting that bottle that some of us have been trying to grab for a while, its awesome when someone gets a bottle they have hunted for. Its like we all win in the end, thanks for sharing. Happy New Year!!

Awesome. It’s cool how grateful you are to the owner that called you. That’s what it’s all about. I’m a rookie to this bourbon stuff. But I am knowledgeable from watching so much content. I feel like I’m set up well to start my selection and get the bottles I want. I plan on starting with everyday selections and working my way to more rare bottles. I know I like the Buffalo Trace stuff. But I have yet to try any ryes or anything other than straight bourbon yet. From the friends I have spoke to they said they wish they could go back to where I am bc it was so much fun to discover new things. I’m very grateful to have discovered your channel and content. It’s great that you share your hunting journey with all of us. God bless you and keep Hunting Brother. 🤜🤛
I've been searching Ga and SC for about 3 years for a bottle GTS. A REASONABLY priced bottle! I've seen a couple places that had one but they wanted as much as $2500!!! I finally got one about 3 weeks ago and after averaging I got it for about $200!! Now sitting in my cabinet along side the Stagg Jr.
I made a deal with my local shop today (NYE) for a GT Stagg and Blanton’s SftB. Even just a few days ago I didn’t think I’d be buying a BTAC. It’s a small town shop so I made an offer for the two…he made some extra $$ to pay his light bill and I still got a pretty nice deal for what I was buying.
@Bourbon_Hunter Wish I knew, but you're right. Fortaleza is hands down the best. It took me a full year to find my last bottle. Tequila is what got me into Bourbon. Now, I'm trying to find my way around in the Bourbon world.
This was a great year for me to add killer bottles to my collection. Pretty much had the opportunity to buy every bottle, except BTAC/Pappy, at MSRP at one point or another. Last week I picked up my loyalty rewards from two shops - Coy Hill and 13th Colony Double Oaked. Not the most insane pickups during allocation season but the two bottles I wanted the most. The only miss I've had is Four Roses LE. I had to pick between Coy Hill and Four Roses LE. Secondary on both is about the same but MSRP is VERY different. I went with the one that was cheaper. Easier to stomach paying 2x MSRP for a Four Roses LE than it is to pay 5x MSRP for a Coy Hill. Best decision I made this year was getting involved with a local bourbon club and bottle share. I've sampled pretty much everything under the sun this year outside of KoK and OFC. Made it real easy to pass on RR15, Lot B, Parkers 14yr Malt, Elmers (lots of them around this year), and CYPB. I had shots at all of those at basically MSRP and I passed because I didn't think the pours were worth wasting my picks on or paying the MSRP. So I guess I had a shot at Pappy but I've only enjoyed the 15yr and the rye. The 23 year was disgusting to me. So far my favorite allocated pours of the year were Heaven Hill 20 and 13th Colony Double Oaked. Russels 15 had the best nose but the palate didn't hit for me. Similar problem I had with Pappy 23 - just assaulted my mouth with dry oak. The cherry/fruit notes were buried under a collapsed barn. Other notable pours this year - Little Book Path Not Taken (top 3 rye for me this year) and Little Book Infinite. Both were killer bottles that I wish were closer to $100. Best things I drank this year were from a local distillery. They produce the best rye on the planet IMO. Their juice is the only stuff I've ever given a 9.5. It's just about perfection. The only hit on the whiskey is that the finish is short on your first sip. It's one of those that starts to cling to your tongue and the finish build and builds with each sip. In a blind it doesn't have time to build up so that was the only knock I've had on it and I've blinded multiple bottles form this distillery and it's always the same issue. Otherwise they produce nearly perfect bourbon and rye.
I'm so glad I do not live in one of these crazy states where bottles are so hard to get, standing in line for shelfers is wild. And that first spot is over the top ridiculous, and I gotta believe the folks camping out overnight knew what they were getting themselves into.
@ yes sir. I was able to build a great relationship with Kevin the owner from the video you did for Maryland with S&W Liquors and I’m truly thankful. Happy new year to you sir. Cheers.
Hey Hunter what a score , I was at a event and eyed the GT Stagg and Eagle 17 but by time my number was pulled they were gone so I walked away with Rock Hill Farms and Weller Full Proof Store Pick .... Thanks
That was superb opening the GTS bottle in the store. I live in Alaska and have only held the GTS and WLW. Didn't get either. The store manager kept the GTS and auctioned off the GTS. Don't know what the final selling price was, but stopped watching when it hit $1K. Alaska doesn't have a large population, so we don't get the numbers of allocated bottles most of you get. Oh well, still fun to hunt and find/get an allocated bottle. Cheers!

Congratulations on that relationship coming to fruition! Insane numbers of Fortaleza. Nice that they have Cazcanes, though its normal price point is a bit high, IMO, especially for the aged expressions & No. 9 & 10 blancos. I think I see some Siembra Alteño too, which is excellent. The 46 Still Strength is amazing, $99 is a bit high, though. But if you like the regular blanco, you'll really like the 46. It's the regular blanco dialed up to 13. Try to find a pour at a bar maybe.
@@Bourbon_Hunter In the DMV, the 46 SS usually runs around $120-140, which is even more ridiculous. Some places even charge more for it than the reposado.

I’ve been supporting the same store for 4 yrs and can’t even get e Stagg @MSRP lol I have got Blantons @MSRP and that’s about it The market is definitely competitive in my parts

Paying secondary prices is not hunting
Who paying secondairy?
I respect the hustle but not for me. Green River full Proof is amazing...
Green river full proof is awesome!
Go Gamecocks! ;)
BIGGGG BLUEEEE YOU KNOWWWW
I have a lot more Stagg than Russels 15. And those few at $750.🤢
Already seen 2 you tubers get ER 17 for MSRP and now you get a GTS lol hmmmmm
I've supported this store all year. Luckily I got the phone call. A lot of stores at the end of the year help out their loyal customers! ER 17 is way more rare down here in SC than GTS! Both are great however!
I’ve been supporting the same store for 4 yrs and can’t even get e Stagg @MSRP lol I have got Blantons @MSRP and that’s about it The market is definitely competitive in my parts
Are you in a smaller state? I wonder why its so competitive where you're at
Live in La just south of New Orleans You have to win raffles by buying store picks to get chances at those bottles I’ve never won lol I can buy at other places for secondary but refuse 2
Instead of bitching about it, go start a UA-cam channel, and get some followers and give a liquor store some free advertisement to help them generate more revenue with newer customers and maybe you'll get a favor done for you. He's literally brought in more money for that store. You're crying over a fucking bourbon
I can get staggs for 150 all day 😂
Bro where you at? I know people would jump over barbwire for that
@@Bourbon_Hunter SATX, I know a bar owner connect he just gives me random allocations. he gave me 6 Stagg 24a and 2 gts 24 last week. The gts weren’t at msrp but he still gave me a good deal. Traded one of the bottles for a wsib and a cypb sold them off online and essentially got a gts for free lol

Oh nooooo
First
It’s a rainy Sunday! 🫡
Was just at a liquor store in michigan and the clerk showed me the receipt of a GTS a customer got at MSRP, BUT he had to buy a $1000 worth of assorted 💩 bourbon/whiskey to get it at that price 🫣😖😵💫 , YOU DID WELL 👍👏😉 CHEERS 🥃
That’s wild, it seems like some states have a much harder time getting this stuff!
