Yeah, the movie started off with her wanting to catch up with him I think really just because they had a pact that if they were still single they’d just get together as like a “why not” and her safety blanket was moving on
Jules was the literal definition of a pick me. It’s one thing to love your best friend but it’s a whole other thing to constantly speak bad about his fiancé who was nothing but nice to you. I felt so bad for Kimmy because she was only 20 and I was not a fan of the way Michael wanted her to leave her career behind for him and made her feel bad about her wealth and Jules was loving every bit of it
I agree, I don’t like how he yelled at Kimmy and embarrassed her in that restaurant, that should’ve been a private conversation and I think he was too old for her.
@@gayavardan Girl/Boy ma’am if you don’t get out of my comments with this long drawn out over explanation of why you don’t like Kimmy, it was never that serious. Tbh she behaves like a lot of moms when their sons get married. Plotting and scheming because you don't want to lose your son's affections, meanwhile it's more of an ego situation. Tragic
Sorry, but Kimmy should have just left that mess and focused on her career. She was 20, and had plenty of time to find a man with less baggage. And idk how she didn't smack Jules.
Yes, she only wanted Michael because he was getting married, when he told her on the phone she made a comment about it just being another unserious relationship but when she found out he was getting married she was shocked. Even if Michael chose her I think the max their relationship would have lasted was about 2 years because she knew he would always come running back to her and she had commitment issues. She liked the idea of Michael propping her up
Poor Kimmy tho, she kind of read her at the beginning but just naaarrowly missed her intentions. Though, it was more to be like "hey I want you in his life too cus y'all are friends" and that was so sweet of her but like... ughh. Almost wished she peeped game. If this were any other movie i feel like we would've initially booed her if she were written as the typical "i dont want your **friend** here, you have history!" Fiancee
The way Jules constantly propped up herself over Kimmy showed she was not only a pick me but had a lot of narcissistic qualities. She was intimidated by Kimmy's youth, beauty and the fact that she came from money, that makes a lot of women insecure because they feel like they don't deserve it because they had to work so hard, it also makes some women insecure when they have present fathers in their lives who love and adore them I've been around a few of those kinds. Jules wanted Michael because she felt like Kimmy already had it all and getting Michael would be too much
@@vwatchem Ma'am they don't play their ACTUAL ages in the movie. like are you okay? do you know how acting works and how it's not real???...they speak about how much younger she is than her and Michael. Michael was the real one who deserved to end the movie alone. He spent the whole movie flirting HARD with Jules, he wouldn't even turn around when she was changing......meanwhile, he chose a young girl to marry and went about trying to destroy her ability to get a career.....I think Jules was worried about ending up alone and panicking, but Michael was obsessed with himself and loved every second of women struggling over him
I feel like for Jules, she realized “I waited for nothing” as soon as she heard he was engaged. So she tries to sabotage the wedding and even though when Cameron Diaz says she wins, Jules doesn’t really win anything…..Like jasmine from “Aladdin” said “I am not a prize to be won”, Michael wasn’t a prize. He isn’t even in the wrong, he just fallen in love with someone after Jules lead him on
@@Lboogie0711 well that’s the thing she didn’t “wait” for anything, it’s not like she was sitting around waiting for her turn to be with Michael, she was dating and couldn’t be in a committed relationship and didn’t even want him until she realized she was no longer the woman who was a priority and someone that he would fawn over. She knew him being married now meant that, she couldn’t come before his wife like I’m sure she did with previous girlfriends he had
Juels gives that she came between a lot of his relationships and always made it point to let them know she was there first and his best friend, that's exactly why I don't date men with female best friend's because a lot of times they don't know their place and are always trying to come be a part of your relationship just like you said in your Syd and Dre video - one or the other always has feelings for each other or even both - and some women are just very catty and competitive and I don't have the time or patience for it
Michael was in love with Jules for years, but she was too arrogant to see it. It wasn’t even until Michael told her that he was marrying Kimmy that she realized that she was in love with him, but it was too late.
I loved watching this movie when I was younger and I still love it. I thought the chase scene and revelations made were written very well and the music choices were golden

Jules was terrible! I love this movie though. This movie and Gone with the Wind made me love protagonists that were up to no good lol. What she did to Michael was out of pocket!!! That email was outrageous (I know she didn’t mean to send it, but even writing it was diabolical). I may be wrong, but what I got out of the movie was that you should be honest about your feelings. Jules should have been honest about how she felt and told Michael. I think that her doing all those things instead of just admitting her jealousy showed Michael that Jules never changed. She was still that woman that never wanted to hug him in public and kept her feelings inside. Kimmy would always hug him or kiss him in public. She was his type. She was what he wanted from Jules in my opinion. I felt that deep down, Jules knew that.
Yesssss hungry eyes instrumental!!! You should do a video on the movie dirty dancing 🤗 When she wrote up that email she was playing fou l , she was jealous of Kimmys wealth, she brought it up a few times. I think that drove her even more to want to get Micheal because she was jealous of Kimmy
I remember seeing the movie when it came out, and I thought that Jules was so pathetic and a classic example of wanting what you can't have. I was actually rooting for Kimmie to dump him and to hit Jules... that was my idea of a happy ending :)

For me, the real villain -besides Jules- is Michael. He wanted to marry Kimmy because she was 'young and naive,' making her easy to manipulate without regard for her needs or wants. Michael was spineless, and the only reason he left Jules was that Kimmy was a more convenient partner in general.
