Damn I wish I had a pc that worked lol well I did but I brought a graphics card from Ali express and my pc don’t work no more and my family can buy a new one and I’m only 13 :(
I love the attention to detail which tech channels like yours have! 4:22 and 4:52 The little icon at the bottom left showing how much longer until you finish talking about this product is very clever, along with the tips! :) Thank you.
I find that when this is turned on it can annoy me as I sometimes use very quick and sharp mouse movements causing the task bar to go up and down a few times before settling on either staying fully or dissapearing. I just find it a bit janky
Hey, big tip for you - your speakers misplaced. They need to be even with or in front of your side monitors so you don't block their dispersion and eliminate nasty reflections. 😊
Could also mention that having them triangulated really helps too. They should be the same distance apart as they are from where you sit and listen to your music, games, etc...at, and should be off the wall several inches too. Another thing that also really helps but is often ignored outside of music recording is building some bass traps and putting them in the corners of the room you game in. You can really tighten up the acoustic signature of your gaming room very quickly and cheaply this way.
0:16 did it for me.. as a grown as man in his 30's with two daughters about that age, I decided to build a home gym. I gotta set an example. I really wanted to create something like this but nah. They need to see me do things that will enrich their lives.
Good for you man. I think you did the right thing. I know a guy who lives together with a girl who has 2 kids. And he has no job as far as i know, because he plays video games every day pretty much all day. And i hear him sometimes in party chat yelling at his kids with his headset on. If that was my dad, i would not be able to take him serious at all even as a young kid. I'm not a kid btw, but just imagining i would be in that situation.
On a side note, Shargeek (the brand shown at the start) are making some very cool and unique products. I think if they dropped the price to compete with other brands (even with the discounts they are still hefty) they could create a very great company here
Great tips, especially for when first setting up your pc. However I suggest using a different game launcher. Razer cortex consolidates all the games to the one app but has some extra features including game boosting, which pauses/stop certain processes while gaming.
One thing I did as far as cooling is placing risers under my tower. I went to a local hardware store and got two wooden blocks the same width as my PC's case. In my situation: I chose a one inch thickness and the length from back to front is two inches. I the paint the black to match the case. While this may not seem like it would have made a difference: my overall system temperature dropped by 5c and my graphics card started running 7 to 9C cooler. I have 3 fans on the bottom of my case set as intake. This also decreased the suction effect generated by the bottom fans (let's just say a piece of plastic almost got gobbled up by the fans). As my PC sits on my desk: I wanted to minimize the amount of dust that could potentially end the system. Another small trick I use if my PC is going to be crunching on something like a game or encoding a video is to place a small desk fan where it can blow into the front intake and (in my case) the bottom intake. This, I found helps to break the heat loop that can sometimes happen when the air in the room isn't moved much. Doing this helps the exhaust fans remove any heat that has built up around the case: especially the rear and top. Yes, heat rises; but, a fan moving fan around the case gives it more of a shove to get out of the way. It also keeps my room a bit cooler as the heat collects more at the ceiling that on my desk.
Great video as always Ed. On the power button section, you can also hibernate your PC and have it wake from the keyboard, that way you save even more power than just putting it to Sleep
I finally picked up a mousepad! The designs are so good and the price is so cheap. Well done, Ed. EDIT: Forgot to mention the fact that it's free shipping in the U.S. AND you can return them for any reason within 30 days! Such a good buy.
Thank you for making me notice that, after a couple years since I bought my monitor, the refresh rate was still set really low. It's feeling a lot smoother now, thx
I usually optimise my windows after I install a fresh one, but my last reset was so long ago that I forgot when i upgraded from 10 to 11 to change the boot programs from msconfig. Thanks, Ed

Thanks man. The fan curve app doesn't play nice with my fans so I didn't use it but left a like just bc you're the first person to tell me about the ultimate power setting. My PC has been on balanced the 9 months I've had it haha.
Sometimes for lower-end monitor setting the refresh rate to max can make games choppy, instead in my experience stick to the second highest or what the manufacturer recommends (144Hz for his case)
I think you could mention the re-sizable bar in the bios in your next video. It allows your gpu to have a better performance and it is not activated by default. However it only availble to enable on more recent gpus like the 30 series and up. There is a similar function for the amd gpus but i dont know the name.
It's called the exact same thing. The BIOS doesn't change. Resizable Bar and 4G encoding are two I always ensure are on so my AMD card can use S.A.M and have increased performance.
Hey Ed, always giving great ideas. I was curious about one thing. I know you use 3D rendering software for allot of your setups. I was wondering which one you use or anyone you might recommend? Thanks!
Love these tips! Changed a few settings. Struggling with Windows 11 to get my Task Bar to the right side of my screen. I have an ultra-wide monitor so I don't need 2.5 feet of Task Bar on my screen. :D
there is a way to center the apps in taskbar without using any app in windows 10 (idk if it works in win 11 too) basicly right click the taskbar and hit "taskbar" then click "links", you will then see some 4 lines: 2 in the right and 2 in the left. you just then need to slide the one in the right all the way to the left and then you will slide the other one to make the apps centered or put them where ever you want
Who else hears the copyright free song that Smilecicle used for the Jort Storm song lol Wonderful tech vid as always, gotta love when your task bar finally disappears and it just looks way cleaner

Tip for those who like the taskbar. Auto hide it and when you need it, it's there. No need to remove the function
translucent TB stills keeps the task bar but makes the background transparent
I find that when this is turned on it can annoy me as I sometimes use very quick and sharp mouse movements causing the task bar to go up and down a few times before settling on either staying fully or dissapearing. I just find it a bit janky
When I dont have auto hide on I have a problem where I cant full screen apps without the taskbar always showing, is there a way to fix that?
You don't need taskbar X for the smaller taskbar, in rounded tb you need to switch on dynamic mode. This will give the same effect.
I have 1 startup program, wallpaper engine. Not even steam start on windows.
