- Hunting the old LNER milepost signs on the busy high speed train line north of York, in a 10-mile section there's the halfway mark, a 200 Miles to Edinburgh sign and a 200 Miles to London Sign. In this video, I try my hand and focus on the signs and building Railway Photography compositions around these railway signs and the high speed trains running on the East Coast Main Line.
Plenty of high speed East Coast Main Line (ECML) trains to enjoy on this busy stretch of railway.

Many thanks, i do appreciate that, its a challenge of how much to keep in a video, I could easily make the videos twice as long, but I do try to keep them moving without getting too boring (hopefully!).

Another brilliant piece of filming. Stayed at the Sidings in Shipton close to the sign. Location was ace especially the black and white shots. Thanks for sharing and defo look forward to the next one

Many thanks Peter, it was a bit of luck the camera stopped the train where it did, my camera has quite a slow burst rate, so the train does travel quite a distance between shots.
@@AndrewShenton I did not realise that it was only 8fps if that is the case then even more kudos to you. My Olympus EM1X is capable of 18fps even with my old 4/3rds lenses.

Thanks, Keith, the wellies are new, hopefully stopping me bringing home half of North Yorkshire on my walking boots. There wasn't so much planning on this one, I kind of made it up as I went along, however some photo trips I do quite a lot of planning.

I came down the ECML today from Edinburgh and wondered if you'd ever thought about the stretch north of Berwick where the line hugs the coast for several miles? It's great seeing how you think about the shots you take. Very inspiring.

Wonderful work Andrew. The mono image of the half way signs perfectly aligned and the Azuma is outstanding. Really interesting and informative and creative. Great work as always 👍😊

Another excellent video......btw Andrew, what camera do you use on the video recording shots ?
On this video I used my old DSLR a Canon EOS70D and a DJI pocket for the time-lapse shot, I sometime films bits with a phone too and edit it all together.

@AndrewShenton I think you have named the camera that you use when you take photographs of these amazing trains but what camera do you prefer if you use different ones?
For all my photography I'm currently using a Canon Mirrorless EOS-R which is now nearly 4 years old, so I'll be looking for a replacement at some point, I use a selection of cameras for video.
Andrew, have you thought about a vid for beginners to rail photography ?

You can, I'm using I-movie, the video editing program that come with a Mac.
