I’m still annoyed that people say Henry Cavill’s too old to be Superman but Josh Brolin was offered to play an old Hal Jordan Lantern!
Look at Hal Jordan in Emerald Twilight when he becomes Parallax and solos the Justice League, he has the grey sideburns like Reed Richards, Josh’s casting could be a hint that they might go that direction. He would be a cool first villain for the Justice League, Josh has proved that he has the chops to play a great major villain with Thanos

@@SarcasticEnchilada Hal and Superman have always been similar to age, secondly you think making one of the best known Lanterns who has been the lead, a villain in his first outing without years of character development? Snyder did the same with death of Superman in the second film.

@@MarkGuerrero-cz9bh Except one of those Green Lanterns is the main Lantern, was the lead in over 90% of Lantern stories, has always been the founder of JL and he has a rich history.
And let's be real, Snyder didn't know anything about DC and its characters, he saw the animated series and assumed John is the only Lantern without knowing anything about Lantern mythos and it seems Gunn is doing the same.
U always deliver real news and thoughts about Dc than other channels. This is the best channel for dc news ever.
When Christopher Nolan was ready to show OPPENHEIMER to fellow directors, before the film was released, he screened the film for Steven Spielberg, Paul Thomas Anderson (THERE WILL BE BLOOD and LICORICE PIZZA), Todd Phillips (JOKER), Denis Villeneuve (ARRIVAL and DUNE) and Zack Snyder. Obviously, these are directors that Nolan respects. I don't think James Gunn was part of the group.

I really think Dc is a curse to a career these days unless you are doing a " The Batman " Or " The Joker" type version of the characters.... It would never happen but imagine a Multiverse that has the Christopher Nolan Batman Universe,Todd Phillips/Joaquin Phoenix Joker Universe and Matt Reeves/Robert Pattinson Batman Universe .. All colliding ... Oh well... Wishful thinking.. Would give Joaquin Phoenix a change to meet an older Batman/Bruce Wayne and see how Joaquin Phoenix version would handle different Batman incantations

Gunn really laughing in our faces idk it's just messy nothing is explained about the universe and you probably pick these older actors yet you got rid of Henry and people looking at that. I just can't be optimistic about this bc we been backstabbed too many times all these people act like they care about Superman and these heroes but they don't. I don't think Gunn or anyone of that leadership knows the mountain task they have I think they only care about getting Gunn stuff out hell with the money or trying to heal the relationship with the fans.
TOTALLY AGREE, "PridedTomb55". Yeah, i don't trust Gunn or these people. LOOK a t the past Track record with DC hollywood people. Unless a miracle happens, most of Hollywood, Disney, Warner Brothers ...they are not part of a culture that normally cares about fans. Only a few of their movies were good. And even then, they don't make near as many movies as Marvel.
Gunn knows more about Jimmy Olsen than he does Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps.

This has always been my dream film. We had a small glimpse with BvS but I want a full on movie with those 2.

I've been hearing from people who saw Joker 2 in Vienna that it's been getting mixed reviews. Either people thought it was artistic or a complete bore
Now reading Snyder/Capullo's Batman run. Gonna pickup Mora's new Superman next!
Just a wishful thought... Of who I personally had in mind for a good Hal Jordan-Green Lantern casting. (Zack Efron who's 36) and or (Ryan Phillipe who's 49). Both, I think would kill it as (HJ), in live action. But, under the direction of someone who would elevate, and take the character seriously! And PUSH!! Green Lantern... That is mind blowing, given perfect visual effects. And most of all a realistic, character driven, cinematic adventure. Kinda like... Man Of Steel.
With Joker's gritty looks I assumed The Batman was linked to it, and we would at very least have a shared Batman Universe. Perhaps in the future something would come out of it and link DC in general, slowly but steadily. But that was never realistic.
Brolin is the same age as Hugh Jackman, and nobody had a problem with his age when he returned to play Wolverine. Brolin will be fine if he's gonna play the role as more experienced Hal.

How come? Jackman showed that actors pushing 60 can easily play superheroes. Don't see any reason why Brolin would be different.

Didn't really answer the question? And Brolin played a DC character already in 2010, years before Cable or Thanos.
Though a good actor I think Brolin is the wrong type for Hal Jordan GL and not just because of his age. Imo Brolin's got a more grumpy image, look, and personality more suited to his roles as Cable and Jonah Hex, but not Hal.
I am extremely excited for Joker 2, i believe in Todd Phillips.

Funny out of all the actors there talking about to play Green Lantern there not even bringing up the actor Zack picked to play him.

I was willing to give Gunn the benefit of the doubt mainly because I didn't like Snyder's vision and Gunn actually treated the Guardians of the Galaxy with respect but if they ruin Hal by giving him the Hank Pym treatment and making him the Agent K of GL then I've officially lost faith in this rebooted universe considering Hal is the OG and they're gonna cast him off in favor of Stewart and we all know why.
This DCU is off to a bad start, featuring numerous heroes in the Superman movie, making Guy & Hal seniors, making Booster Gold a middle aged Asian man(rumored), skipping the first 3 Robins and going straight to Damian and I'm going out on a guess if Damian is in his teens then Batman is most likely in his 40s & 50s so he gets the age wash treatment like Hal & Guy. You can't say Henry was too old when you're casting even older actors for Bruce & Hal who are the the founders of JL. Gunn has shown more respect to Jimmy Olsen.
It's not hard to build a universe, Marvel focused on their core Avengers members first before expanding. Why couldn't Gunn have focused on the core JL members first in Superman, Batman, Green Lanter(Hal Jordan), Flash(Barry Allen), Aquaman, Wonder Woman & Martian Manhunter who seems to always get ignored. But he's introduced too much in his first phase.

I still think it was a missed opportunity not to cast Nathan Fillion as Hal, since they are going with an older version of Hal. Nathan was born to play him and has already voiced him. He is totally miscast as Guy Gardner.

@@myreview-aaronfischer I think it probably will. A lot of people enjoyed the first one, and there’s definitely curiosity for more. Plus, Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn could attract an even wider audience thanks to her star power. It’s easy to forget the mixed reviews for the first Joker, and yet it shocked everyone by hitting a billion. I liked the first one, but I’m not sure about the second 😂.

@@MarkGuerrero-cz9bh First of all: Their first films were successful and fans adore them, DC should have continued to be dark and serious and not make them stupid clowns, look at Flashback FM, Fighting Cinematic or even the UA-cam channel of Warner Brothers, everyone writes about it in the comments.
Second: Justice League 2021 was as successful in streaming as Wonder Woman 1984 (although it was weak), a lot of people petitioned for their return.
Thirdly: Cavill appeared there only as a shitty cameo in the scene after the credits, the main character was Black Adam, and look for the reasons for the failure in him and the plot, not in a five-second cameo, they don't sell the movie.
Fourth: Jordan should be around 30-40 years old, not under 60.

@@ii-mp1sp First of all : The tone needs to be dictated by the character. Not every character is Batman (If i want Batman ill watch Batman who is my favorite hero). The most successful DCEU movie was Aquaman, which had the same tone as Aquaman 2 and was goofy as hell.
Second : Look at any case of petitions actually leading to box office results. 9 times out of 10 what is given fails.
Third : The Rock gave you what you wanted, was openly supporting the snyderverse and failed. He was the closest you guys had to show something and you didn't. Also you guys say Cavil is a big star but he had 2 movies this year and both bombed. His biggest successes have him playing second fiddle to bigger names,
Fourth : Yeah a 40 something Hal would work just fine. on whether 56 is too old, kind of depends how much they are going to use him.
Hopefully they arent thinking of doing Hal jordan/Paralax too soon and if they are hopefully its better than how the tomorrowverse did it.

But sometimes he says something creepy. Look at the comment at beginning of vid he said a while ago, about he thinks superheroes are silly. Why trust this guy? he has never been great, only good. Yeah, he had the Guardians of Galaxy, but Suicide squad was lousy especially the sequel. Outside that, he can't do great things. He employs his relatives.
