Another way I often use id to just stand up in a crouched position, then slowly stand up. No need to grab the board just push both hands down behind you. The mistake a lot of people make that makes them fall when doing this is they try to stand up too fast instead of just getting up on the board in a crouched position.
Bro the first move is like Gods work. Thank you. I’ve been riding for years. I’m decent at riding switch and most things. But always got to flip over like a dolphin. So thx man.
I struggled with this at first but I found a way that helps. Basically what you do I pretend that someone is pulling you up with one hand and push up with the back one
I have had to do the pull on the toe edge trick a lot these days where my boards are 181cm and 183cm and I'm in hard boots its so tough to spin around from the sitting on my heel edge. Both tricks work very well.
Bro I was just struggling to get up on my toe side this weekend 😭 if I wasn’t on a decent slope facing uphill, I couldn’t get up :/ snowboarding is hard at 6’7” 300lbs 😂
@@aerowenn433 Two tips: 1) Practice skating and gliding at the bottom of the hill. You have to get good at going short distances without having your back foot strapped in. Making sure you have a good grippy stomp pad also helps. 2) Put your weight on your front foot when you are gliding down the ramp. I can not emphasize this enough. If you can make keeping your weight 70/30 on your front foot a religion, not only will it make getting off the lift easier, but it will also make you a better snowboarder on the hill. Get those arms up and pointed in the direction you want to go also helps to emphasize getting that weight forward.
Just had my first try on a board. I had no problems just getting up from sitting. I think being Asian and able to do the Asian squat such bith might have come in handy 😅
Here is a tip for all snowboarders : you NEED to stretch your legs before snowboarding, I went to the doctor and it was painful for me to walk for a week. The doctor said it probably was because I don’t stretch… so yehahhh
Push those toes to the top of your boot, and lean a little back and crouch down a little more. That should help with your heel side sliding. It’s also going to make it so much easier to learn carving as well.
@SnowboardProCamp not only that, it's pretty much the only way to get up if your BMI is pretty high, you're unathletic, and/or elderly. • I had to do that - as embarrassing as it was when I was riding at 250lb 🤦🏾♂️ but none of that shit matters once you're cruising :)
Flip over so your on your stomach makes a shelf with your board and then stand up put a lot of weight in your backfoot and turn your board down the hill
...... Why not just stand up over your "backfoot" / support foot. instead of trying to forcing your body through like that, just lean on your one foot, and stand up like that, its not like your other foot wont follow

The roll over has another advantage... You can look up hill before riding. Shred safe!🤙
Actually, depends, because if you’re too close to someone or something you might crash but riding switch makes my argument invalid.
Once up GOOOOOO. I see so many newbies finally stand up & then stand there....only to fall back. You're up - let's do this.
Surprisingly simple what the addition of the hand on leg does for momentum in the rollover. Did not think of it! Thanks! 🙏🏻😎
I still struggle as an experienced snowboarder, welp guess i'm rolling over then slipping a 180
Man I wish someone showed me this when I first started, I can get up no problem now but this definitely would help new riders. 👏🏽

I think there's some limitation in flexibility for some people that prevent that. I can't do what you described, I've tried.

Can you go over your gear setup? Your board, boots and bindings?
I struggled with this at first but I found a way that helps. Basically what you do I pretend that someone is pulling you up with one hand and push up with the back one
Finally an independent dependent

My goal before the end of the season is to else to stand up from heel side 😩 and get off the lift but that's another story lol
Girl same going in 3 weeks been doing snowboarding workouts lol. last year was a nightmare haha, but I not giving up.
Getting off the lift is insanity. I can ride down a blue strapped in, but I cannot get off a lift.

I always roll over because my belly doesn’t let me bend myself without being out of breath 😅😅😅
for some reason i hate starting off on my toes
I can push myself with momentum up. I’m also not old

Or get clew or stepon bindings
I like to roll back like a Chinese getup and dig in so I can stand up and have a little ledge to stand on
I am 6’3 so its more difficult to grab the board and when i try to stand up my back hurts so thks i will get up from my toes
230 lbs I cannot rail grab to pull myself up. Lol😂
I just stand up

-I can't slide on heal edge
-Just stand up on the front

Going to belly is always much easier for me
I always teach this, I hope everyone sees this!
It’s a good skill for sure!

Get into a nose press, to get up it’s fast and you look like a pro
Psh. Put pressure on your back foot and just rotate as you stand up. Done.
I roll over and I'm not a beginner I am 12 and can hit double black diamonds soo.... 😂

You ride goofy
