Try pulling the sway bar out from the passenger side. I found a video on this and since I am a true DYI, I would suggest that you try it. Just unbolt the control arm and you don't need to drop the subframe.

I just did this on my 2004 3.4L base model impala. I pulled the old one and installed the new one from the passenger side. Like some people have mentioned that they unbolted the control arms and moved them out of the way, I simply jacked my rotor up until it was about lifting the car off the jack stands it was sitting on. That moved the control arm out of the way enough to finaggle it through. I did the passenger side jacking of the rotor first, then moved the jack to the driver side to jack the rotor and it too moved the control arm out of the way enough to get it entirely through to the drivers side. Hope it helps some people as I was not looking forward to unbolting that whole subframe n stuff being that I did this in my parking lot.

Thier is a easier way to change your stabilizer bar just take the tie rods loose and turn the bar upwards and it will come right out so if you have a lift but no jack or your working on jack stands this works easy just did it today.

an easier thing to do if you dont have a car jack like that to do that is take the tie rod off of the passenger and pull it out from there. did it with my dad and uncle and it works very well and way easier to do.
great video for if you dont wanna do that and have the other things accessable

Yes just did mine , jack up car with front tires off…put on jack stands , move steering wheel for good access, it is a slow go with the wrenches and sockets, but it is a sit down job.., all by sitting next to the wheel wells
Get lithium grease for inside bushing and outside of bushing so clamp goes on easy. Use pb blaster on everything

Hey can you help me iam at my wits end. My steering wheel got very loose over night. Also something is clunking under the car. I lifted it up and noticed control arms have bad bushings . Do you think this is the cause of loose steering? My rack is not leaking, fluid is not low. My tie rods are tight. The loose steering gets worse on flat roads that are smooth. Mostly noticable when wheels are straight.
