Going to replace both lower control arms, both anti sway bar links, and the bar itself (2008 Impala) . Seems to be pretty straight forward and your video confirmed that. Very good job!
Excellent video. Very thorough and omitted no steps. Nice job. This procedure also applies to Buick Rendezvous, Pontiac Aztek, and the '97 and newer GM minivans (Venture, Montana, etc).

Wow, that is probably the best instructional video I have ever seen for a task that seemed so daunting to event attempt at first. Great Job!!!
thanks for watching
Awesome vid man, I need to basically re-do my front end cause of previous owners neglect, and this is gonna be a big help on saving me a ton of money for the control arms. Thank you!
+Cuzn55 awesome thanks for watching
Thank you very much for the well detailed video. Im redoing all my suspension and brake parts minus the struts and wheel hubs on my Pontiac and since your cars setup is the same it should be easy going for me. New rotors new pads new sway bar pushing new sway bar end links and new control arms both sides. Thanks for the guide seemed not too difficult.
Not bad at all..good luck and dont forget to subscribe
Man I wish my car was as clean as this. Need to find myself an impala from south of the salt belt.
Thanks for watching..don't forget to subscribe 😉
Just replaced on my 2009 Chevy Impala. My driver side lower control arm. And upper tie rods inner and outer driver & passenger side. (Thanks to your awesome video..!!)
But noticed tie rods and lower control arm doesn't have a spot to attach a zurk ball fitting to fill with grease. It's covered completely. So I bought a adapter needle to add to my grease gun.
**Where do I properly inject this needle into a ball joint and upper tie rod so it doesn't ooze back out?**
Great Video Klowny. I m going to show this to my wife and hopefully she can get this done by this Friday. ;)
Now that's what I'm talking about!!
Good thing there’s people like you..... thanks, now I can do it myself, instead of wasting hundreds

How much should or would a mechanic charge for a job just like this?? I need one done on my 98 oldsmobile archieva
...
Thanks for posting this video. I really only needed it to see what the size was for the torx bolt. T-55! Awesome.
Great thanks for watching
I believe it's a T57. It's a really uncommon size but everyone uses a T55. T55 is close and common and it usually works
Saving me bro I subscribed, I’m about to have to do this on my 2011 Chevy impala today
Thanks! Awesome, good luck!

I’m looking to replace my whole front end….2012 impala ltz control arms, inner and outer tie rod ends, struts and stabilizer bar link. What should I start with first? Control arms, struts or tie rod ends? Thanks
I watched a video about the control arm bushing and how to change that. I'm buying the kit and changing it all. I don't have a hydraulic press.
Awesome good luck!
thank you so much for responding having issues with a 2010 impala. had both CVS joints repaired and as soon as I got the car back the axle and CV broke now my transmission is leaking so it's at another shop getting repaired I feel ripped off from the first shop.

Hahahahahaha "beat it like it owes you money" hahahaha
Thanks! This is good for all the w-bodies.
jayr yup thanks for watching and commenting
Great job, explanation for a relatively easy repair job, but those control-arm bolts should be dosed in wd-40 or similar, because they are the original ones and you don't want any rust or anything else that can cause breaking. I would take those bolts to a specific fasteners place, and replace them.
Thank you..don't forget to subscribe!
Good job!! Smarty pants
Love your video

great video. thanks 👏
Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe
Nicely done, I'm doing the same to my Malibu tomorrow. Do you follow up with a wheel alignment?
on this car there is no need..some cars its necessary
What's the difference between this video and doing the work on a 2002 Impala? Possibly just less electrical to disconnect? Does the original '02 Impala come with a ball joint that you can't add grease too?
this is so fucking 100% perfect

Thank you for sharing your expertise !

I put a new 06 Chev Imp driver side master window control switch. But only works for rear windows and with front windows.
So when u load the control arm up you want it level before tightening the bolts right?

@@klowny1969 appreciate it and for sure subscribed.
great video! i have to do some work on my 08 impala. this is a great help.
awesome..thanks for watching
+klowny1969 if there's anything more u can post on fixing impalas of this year, please post. thank u.
+allmightyjamestown yes i have a ton on my channel
+klowny1969 any advice, my 09 impala is not starting. it cranks but it won't start. I checked the relay and even switched it arround with an identical one from the ac compressor and still nothing. no port on the fuel rail to see if fuel will squirt, I'm thinking it's the pump but I don't want to drop the tank unless u have to. any other advice? or opinions u could provide? I'd greatly appreciate it.
+allmightyjamestown there is a schraeder valve gotta look on the fuel rail..also check for spark
I just changed both outer tie rods due to cracking noise when I turn the the steering wheel. I still have the cracking noise but mostly on driver side. is a control arm issue or is it my struts cause I do need all 4
Klowny, I have a 2002 Chevy Impala that needs a new front sway bar, that i plan on changing in the near future. I have heard that i have to drop the cradle to get the sway bar out and i heard that it will slide out without dropping the cradle. Can you give me any information on whether i need to drop it or not? Thanks!
No need to drop it..thanks for watching
Great Work Man !
Steven Brugger thank you
Question was the rear spindle issue with impalas ever corrected ? - Do you know - i bought a 2011 chevy impala ltz and just got an alignment and noticed from rear of vehicle both tires have a negative toe - in - it appears there is a class action law suit for just this reason - please respond - appreciate it sir .
Nice Tripple Tread's there.
Thanks for the video; I hope to use it yo save me a lot of repair $$$
+Kevin Ashby thanks for watching!
Nicely done , what's the price for the fifty star bit?"
great video ..the control arm I purchased doesn't have a nipple to grease how do I grease the ball joint?
xelism 86 some are sealed for the life of the ball joint
Great video!
Quick question. Will you need an alignment after this? Thank you.
No u do not..dont forget to subscribe
great video. I think I have a bad cv joint on my 06 impala ss. it's making a clicking noise when i turn left. any recommendations?
thanks..i have a video on how to change a cv axle..its on a ford eacape but its the same concept..thanks for watching
+klowny1969 your welcome. I'll check it your other video as well. Ire century discovered the clicking noise and think that's the issue. Sucks because I just changed breaks and rotors a couple of weeks ago and didn't notice anything..
I have to change both my cv axels on my 06 grand prix gxp. Do you have any videos showing how to do them?
I have a cvaxle video on a ford escape..similar procedure
Really pisses me off when they mix SAE and metric on parts
lol
07 impala do i need just to buy the control arm or ball joint separate
when turning sharply to the right and accelerating right front wheel makes a rubbing sound and feels like it wants to pull in another direction. Only when turning sharply (I notice it mainly leaving from a stop) and accelerating sharp to the right. does it sound like a control arm issue? other then that car drives perfectly stright.
Its possible..check the whole front end
The ball joint nut, not really torquing that? Just get it as tight as you can?
yes pretty much..and make sure it aligns to the cotter pin hole.if not tighten it some more until it aligns. never loosen..thanks for watchng and dont forget to subscribe
@@klowny1969 I did front brakes on my 04 Grand Prix GTP yesterday, and noticed there was movement on the passenger side, which I assume would be ball joint play. Looks like this is the exact same set up as Grand Prix, so I’ll be doing this job soon too.
question is it possible that your rear right control arm if it's cracked really bad that it could cause the car to drive hard or different? alot of vibration when going at a certain speed.
certainly possible..that can be a dangerous condition
Was this making you car shake because mine shakes a lot and i was told that by replacing this it would stop???
Oscar Velazquez if its really bad..its possible. .i would check everything else as well
Very knowledgeable
You have a video on how to replace the steering intermediate shaft 00-05 Impala?
part number
If I had to watch this guy remove a lower a arm I'd be saying no mames and dearly laugh inside
Good job on the video. I don't understand why they riveted the ball joint to the control arm though. Why not offer a replacement joint that allows you to drill the rivets out, swap in the new ball joint, and then replace the rivets with bolts and lock nuts? That A arm is over $200, s stupid solution to a common wear item if you ask me.
+Randy Greenwald Replacement bolt-on ball joints are made for many GM vehicles & cost a fraction of a new control arm. Due to limited work space, drilling out & removing the rivets usually requires removal of the control arm but doing so will pay for itself in the long run. The bolt-on replacements are readily available from online retailers including Amazon.
Do u need alignment after doing both sides
Not on this car
On a 2009 Impala, I found you really should disconnect the strut. Otherwise, it is a pain in the ass if not impossible to get the ball joint back in. It was very hard to get it out without disconnecting the strut

have you ever ran into an issue with these cars that when you cut the wheel left trac control comes on like it's spinning but it's not I'm stumped I have a 2010 impala ltz
Mitchel Mcgarry im not sure i understand ur description of the problem..when u go all the way left or right the belt squeals on these cars..is that what ur talking about?
