Jimmy, I don't know how but you really got my glued to the monitor of my computer. Great Job!! I really am awe with your talent!!. Don't loose it, Jimmy!!
I like how the process evolved. You went in expecting it to work one way, applying glue to the letters directly, and end up finding a more effective method as you went!
Since you don't see the back of the letters, you could print out a mirror image of the letters to glue to the material and cut out. Then when you peel the paper off it's on the back not the front, you don't have to worry about getting off the leftover paper, or getting the side you see dirty (unless you paint it like you did, I guess it doesn't matter as much then!) :)
Man, where does he get all these ideas from? For who don't know Dirty Money, it's there where he shines the most. Just unbelievable creation. Thanks for sharing.
hey jimmy .. im working with the same principle using acrylic ..stainless steal ,,,copper ..brass to do signs for stores ..malls ..companies ..cafe shops ..restaurants ..also we use LED lights (Samsung 3 Led bar 12v dc)to light the acrylic
Masterful craftsmanship! I learned a few useful techniques from this, for sure. Can't wait to merge these skills with my dabbling in origami and kirigami.
I had a taste of it last year, but missed so many great exhibits. I really want to. Also, what's up with the parking situation? That was a horrible experience =(
Mike Trieu We took the shuttle last year and it was awful too. Parked at Oracle and waited for hours. You know it's bad when there is a Twitter hashtag for the MakerFaire shuttle traffic. This year I'm using Waze!
Anybody know what kind of spray on glue that was that he used? Or if not then can someone suggest a spray on glue that I can use? I have some cut out projects coming up that I could use that technique for cutting out shapes.
Huh, I just did a project like this- decided it was too much work and ended up laser cutting and laminating to make solid block letters. I did, however, find that wood glue works better on paper than regular glue.
Hola Beken, puedes usar casi todo tipo de papel que esta mas grueso. I wonder if this was just for fun because he could have made a more durable, easier to make, and faster to make version of this using a plank of wood and a band saw.
please read the caption , it is very obvious i can make this in number of ways , my motivation is to inspire and show many options for various skill levels of the viewers. thank you for looking.
Greatest praise I can give this is that I never would've thought of it and DiResta pulls out off flawlessly.
This guy's skills blow me away
I'm glad you can show people that anything can still be done with your hands. Everything does not have to be bought, it can be made.
First time here, love to work with paper (card stock), amazing what you can create. Always a precious keepsake if nothing else.
MAKE plus DiResta plus MAKE equals complete win!
Love it Jimmy, making MAKE for the sake of making, perfect!
Jimmy, my family and mi use to watch your videos. You´re like a movie star for us. Congratulations from La Patagonia, Argentina.
Thanks again Jimmy. Yet another skill I have learned from you.
Jimmy, I don't know how but you really got my glued to the monitor of my computer. Great Job!! I really am awe with your talent!!. Don't loose it, Jimmy!!

Yet another DiResta masterpiece. And this one re-affirms my point: I wanna be Jimmy DiResta when I grow up.
Man, where does he get all these ideas from? For who don't know Dirty Money, it's there where he shines the most. Just unbelievable creation.
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you !!!!
Great efficient presentation! Thanks.
When they handed out skills you must have camped out the night before to get to the head of the queue. Excellent.
Are you following me!? You literally watch and follow everyone I do on UA-cam!

what kind of paper did you use?
Would love to see you make a ladder! Your awesome!
Can this be done with clear plastic? If so, what would be the best adhesive for it?
That’s fab! ❤️🛠🔧🗜☠️
"Hey honey, it's Wednesday. Have you made your Make: video yet?" *crapcrapcrap* I NEED PAPER AND GLUE!!
were you listening???!!! xo
What sorcery is this? He has the power of cutting curves with a scalpel!
He is DiResta. Bow before his magnificence!
this is one of them things that looks easy but I bet you its so hard and fiddly
You're killing me Jim!!!!!!
Here's a question. Could this method be used to create molds for using a two-part resin?
Wowww magic!! I want sooo many of them
diresta Has Got Patience Like None Other
Whats that thing he's doing at 4:23 to 4:26 - sanding? If so, what with?
Yes, he's sanding. It looks to be a piece of sandpaper glued to a piece of scrap 1/2" plywood.
What kind of materials did you use for this project
What glue did you use mister Diresta?
Nice, how long did it take to make these - real time?
Relaxing.
Hey, James, what glue is that? I guess its not just a usual PVA glue, cause it wont glue pieces together so fast/
awesome but please name of used material ko mention kijia Bhai.
Watching you make shit is just plain mesmerizing.
Awesome dude...
Jimmy, what kind of paper did you use? I must try, It looks so professional!
Was that latex paint? I assume oil based paint would have warped the paper or de-laminated the glue
Nice job jimmy,
Semantic satiation. The word "Make" no longer looks like a word to me.
Does anyone know the name of the square he used to cut the paper?
Fairgate Aluminium Triangle, i think.
Hi Jimmy sir can u tell me material description like paper type n thickness of it
what is the name of the brown board?
Masterful craftsmanship! I learned a few useful techniques from this, for sure. Can't wait to merge these skills with my dabbling in origami and kirigami.
You going to MakerFaire this year?
I had a taste of it last year, but missed so many great exhibits. I really want to. Also, what's up with the parking situation? That was a horrible experience =(
Mike Trieu We took the shuttle last year and it was awful too. Parked at Oracle and waited for hours.
You know it's bad when there is a Twitter hashtag for the MakerFaire shuttle traffic.
This year I'm using Waze!
Awesome as usual. If ninjas made things out of paper, you'd be their teacher.
what kind of board is that ?orange and yellow ?
Great job excellent and very nice
Can u please tell me the materials used on it?
what kind of paper is that? (the orange & green one)
Marvelous.
What kind of glue is that?
I need a visit from DiResta to get a little of his talent.
Diresta, the man that uses all types of Tree mediums
Long time no see!
did you use foam in this
Is this acrylic sheet
Anybody know what kind of spray on glue that was that he used? Or if not then can someone suggest a spray on glue that I can use? I have some cut out projects coming up that I could use that technique for cutting out shapes.
That would be Super 77 by 3M, but honestly, Super 77 is pretty tough stuff for that application. Any spray glue would work for this.
Replicator 2 X DiResta !
My money is on DiResta till the end. He is the human´s John Henry on the robot´s Revolution!
hahah Thank you !
z jakého to je materialu .. děkuji za odpověď
Great stuff one more time.
You make it see so easy too.
I think my favorite part is when he curled the e...
***** Theres a new translate feature for jibberish and you got it! and he may not be a fan of the video
Jimmy DiResta fights the system and rebelliously sands a piece of cardstock.
sand everything
Verry good
Do something in a Serif Font next!
Some other guys get light-up metal signs, but diresta just gave Make: some paper and foam board shit
MultiCandyAddict he usally makes big stuff but this episode hes making something anyone can do check the discription
Alex Forman I know, i was just joking around
Omaiga! Haré uno de estos!
Thanks for showing me how to make a make =P
Huh, I just did a project like this- decided it was too much work and ended up laser cutting and laminating to make solid block letters. I did, however, find that wood glue works better on paper than regular glue.
I make sure all my glue is made of wood, I never use glue made of regular.

Hola Beken, puedes usar casi todo tipo de papel que esta mas grueso. Aqui estan las instrucciones completas - Emmanuel

This's how to make a make :P
Wow
WOW
This video is cute, and I'm happy! =D
Vare CoooL
Too bad the paper couldn't take the paint layers that fast. The "a" long end has been deformed under which I assume is too much humidity
Why waste all of that ink when you can printed outline only
i personally hate glue, its so messy! isn't there any onther methods instead of glue?
+Saldainis Use painters tape or Masking tape, same thing different name depending where you are from.
Hot glue isn't as messy and it might make it a little easier
thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou
We learned how to do this in 1st grade...
no you didn't
Yes we did actually! I remember making a simmilar thing to this!!!
***** OMNOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM
OK, so what have you done since the first grade?
Sammy Campbell Loads of things
It's funny how 3m get the whole nine yards with brass and welding but Make: just gets paper
I wouldn't have the patience...
hi...
The natural orange/dark green combination looked better imho.
It would have taken way too long if he made DiResta intro paper letters =D
I wonder if this was just for fun because he could have made a more durable, easier to make, and faster to make version of this using a plank of wood and a band saw.
