I wrote Tamlyn a fan letter in 92 and not only did she respond with a letter back, but also sent me a autographed photo. I have met a lot of celebs in the business, but not her yet. I still have that photo and am eternally grateful for her kindness. Much love and success to her..
I watched the Karate kid part 2 when I was a kid. I love Tamlyn Tomita when she was a teenager. She suppose to be my crush 😊❤️. And I didn’t know her mother is half Filipino
I fell in love as a boy with Tamlyn Tomita when I watched The Joy Luck Club! Her grandparents' story is fascinating! She should definitely adapt it into a novel or a screenplay- the part where her Filipina grandma turned up in Okinawa and found her parents-in-law post WWII sounds like a movie scene in itself!
Yeah! She says that she, her paternal grandparents who are full Japanese and her maternal grandfather who is also full Japanese are all from Japan and her mother who is half Japanese and half Filipino and her maternal grandmother who is full Filipino are both from the Philippines and she has 2 younger brothers who were born in the USA just like her father who is full Japanese was.
What a beautiful, talented, classy woman. I've been a fan of Tamlyn since Karate Kid 2. It's funny how she mentioned her chubby cheeks, I never noticed that about her when watching the movie. All I saw was her georgous smile. I wish nothing but great success for Tamlyn in her future projects. This is someone who deserves all the best the world has to offer.
@@rockynostelgic Well, she maybe older now but someone like me never forget a beautiful woman. Besides, the beauty of an Asian woman has a believable illusion that they're immoral through age.
She is a lovely and beautiful lady. So poised, graceful and intelligent. She carries herself so well and with such old-fashioned values and timeless wholesomeness.
OMG pinay blood sya …the first time i saw her on the movie come see the paradise i was mesmerized by her stunning beauty! Now I’m even happy to know she has pinay blood 😂
I like this interviewer does he have a full time gig on some other show or something? Great story and interview, loved it. What an amazing woman and so beautiful. Asian women are so beautiful in general.
I remember watching Karate Kid 2 when I was 11 and was so happy to see her awesome character. I used to wear my hair like she did in the movie. I also had a huge crush on Ralph.
I love the kimono that Tamlyn wore in Awesome Asian Bad Guys at 4:00 the same way I love all the ones she wore in Karate Kid 2 (the one she wore to Pat Morita's father's funeral, the one she wore for her and Ralph Macchio's tea ceremony and the one she wore at the obon dance).
Tamlyn Tomita is absolutely beautiful. I can't help reminiscing about her as that Japanese ingenue the Karate Kid fell in love with, and I can't believe how gracefully she's aged and how fresh and lovely she still appears!
I know right. She was the only Japanese American celebrity in Karate Kid 2 who was issei -- a first generation immigrant from Japan. I refer to her as issei because that's what Japanese Americans who were born in Japan and then immigrated to the USA are usually referred to as while those who were born and raised in the USA are referred to as nisei, sansei, yonsei and/or gosei -- second, third, fourth and fifth generation descendants of Japanese emigrants and so on and those who were born in the USA and returned to the USA after being educated in Japan are referred to as kibei -- distinguished from nisei and also because she was born in Japan to a Japanese American serviceman who was nisei -- a second generation descendant of Japanese emigrants and his wife who is half Japanese and half Filipina and then immigrated to the USA as an infant where she was raised and where her parents had her 2 younger brothers who are sansei -- third generation descendants of Japanese emigrants just like she said in this video. The part of Japan she comes from is Okinawa as in born there and the part of the USA she immigrated to as an infant and was raised in and where father and 2 younger brothers were born in was Los Angeles, California.
Before no internet i knew it she have that Filipino Blood maybe of Her Skin...and i heard theres a lots of Filipino in Okinawa but due tonthe WW2 they kept silent and choose to remain only in Japan tight there in Okinawa.
Cant recognize her at all. She looks like any middle aged asian woman. I mean, she is beautiful but I'd just not recognize that she was once in karate kid 2.

That's kind of racist dude. You are implying that one race is more attractive than another.
So if she were fully Japanese, she would not be beautiful?
And Okinawaian. Many ties between the two.
Japanese women are beautiful too.

Wow she’s Filipino!!! She really looks Filipino though.
She's more Japanese than she is Filipino.
@Vince Sang I don't any other Japanese people with Filipino ancestry besides Tamlyn Tomita.
@@andrewcolinwilson1 You forgot Hawaiian/American actress Tia Carrere. She's born Hawaiian, but has roots in Japan and Philippines.
Everyone’s an expert
