I put a tiny screw into the plastic and fit it back into the housing. Seemed much stronger than using crazy glue.

My issue was the female tab that your pin fits into. Basically, it was the same fix though!

Why baking soda on the super glue?

It creates an instant bond so you don't have to sit there and hold it. It also increases the strength of the bond.
