555 Timer delay off circuit
Переглядів 539Рік тому
In this video we build a circuit to turn run some Christmas led lights on a 18650 battery and use a 555 timer to make them turn off automatically after some time. You can use other types of batteries also such as NiMH. If you use Li-on like i do in this video you have to make sure it doesn't go below around 2.5 Volts because that could ruin your battery. #circuitdesign #electronicscreators

Переглядів 557Рік тому
In this video we go through the process of troubleshooting and fixing (???) an issue with the Presonus Audio Interface - humming noise on one output. After a thorough diagnosis, I discovered that the problem was likely caused by a faulty op-amp, which I was able to replace with a new one.
BOSS Pedal switching circuit analysis and modification. Forcing it to turn off when plugged in.
Переглядів 1,3 тис.Рік тому
Why does my BOSS Pedal turn on when I plug it in? Some BOSS Pedals turn on when first plugged in and some remain off until you step on the foot switch. In this video we will examine the circuit to see why that is and then we will attempt to modify it so the pedal is always OFF when you plug it in or put a battery in it. This the first video episode in a series I will be calling "Irregular Mods"...

Garage Door Keypad not working? Easy fix. Lets also make it brighter
You, sir, are absolutely brilliant! Without your help in the video I would have spent a ton of money to replace the control board and probably a service visit which would not have even fixed the problem. Amazing when you look at the two metal strips, which I did before watching this, you wouldn't image there was a film on them thick enough to block it's function. Followed your directions and we are back in business this morning. You're awesome. Thanks for taking the time.
What size are those caps? Please
Its never the switch. First cap after the switch needs to be a higher value... its way cheaper and its the actual long term fix. This is a temporary band aid.
clean the machine ! , and use descaler or vinigard not sandpaper !!!
LED light output simply drops as they age. End-of-life is sometimes specified on LED lamp packaging in terms of light output at end of life versus that when they were new. Datasheets for LEDs intended for lighting purposes (versus just indicator duty) almost always aging information. That circuit is a "buck" switching regulator that will be directly controlling the LED current. It probably directly regulates the peak current each switching cycle. In a circuit like this controlling the peak current results in reasonably good control of the average current (not always true for buck regulators).
Remember the good old days when washers and dryers worked for thirty years without any maintenance? So called advancements like adding moisture sensors, which work well in the lab, are idiotic. It's time to make appliances great again!
Outstanding work 👍 Warning for any hobbyists thinking they can do this at home. Unless you've got a good level of experience doing SMD level board repairs, don't even think you can tackle this one, it's a BASTARD !!
That was realy a great idea, thanks alot
I’m like 10 min in and I’m so excited . I love the way you just show us the entire troubleshooting process you’re taking, live read . I love it 😻
Great watch it worked for mine.
Hello: I would like to ask you 2 Questions. 1: How to adjust the screw/blue tab on the top ? (I accidentally turned it many times, thinking it held the board in place, I did this before opening the enclosure… 4:33 2: what can I use as a protective coat for a scratched/exposed copper line. Can I use UV Resin ? 11:20
Hello 1. That's an adjustable capacitor for the RF. If it works when you put it back together, just leave it alone. If not, then you can use a flathead screwdriver to turn it 2. Don't waste your money on UV. I just use lacquer or some of my wife's nailpolish.
Some of pins are not soldered
Thank you. Good video and will be helpful. I do have one question. I'm assuming (yes, I know) that you're removing a standard plug from the outlet for illustration purposes only. My LG takes a 4 wire 240 installation. Am I correct?
They can be different Mine is 120V. Mine is a gas dryer your might be electric. You should always unplug it when working on it.
So far, this is the only explanation I’ve found for the symptoms and the corrective action seems to be effective. Had very similar resistance measurements before and after cleaning, so hope this solves the problem. Testing just finished and seems to show that the problem is corrected.
Thanks for the good info.!
Hi! Thanks for the explaination on Boss Flip-Flip switching.. it helps me alot.. but still my problem on my Old DS1 is the switching is not Stable.. sometimes it wont turn OFF/ON.. tried replacing the Q4,Q5 even Replacing the Boss Switch.. still the same..😢 any hints on what part to Look at?... -Thanks...
Perfect video exact issue fixed in same manner. Good job!
Great, great tutorial! Purely empirical! This is the first time I'm here and definitely not the last.
Very good video
This is probably a dumb question, but would optimal behavior be a continuous sound no matter where you placed the red and black leads (so long as they're along the same bar)? Patchy sound comes from minute differences in where the leads touch as you're measuring, so it's showing a presence of film (under at least one of the leads) in at least some areas? Something like the angle changing slightly as you hold maybe increasing the surface area from the very tip of a lead to along the side, upping the odds of finding a path SOMEWHERE between the leads, or sliding over a millimeter? And then no sound, so long as the device is on, means the area around at least one of the leads is pretty solidly covered? I THINK the sound is just binary - if there's a path from where the red lead touches to where the black lead touches. (I repair my own electronics, but circuit stuff is something I've no background in. Want to make sure I'm interpreting what's going on properly before I take something abrasive to the metal in our dryer. Have a cheap multimeter from Temu and have it set to test for connectivity, but since we can't see your meter the entire time, I want to make sure this is more about the sounds than any number displayed. Thanks for posting this video!)
It is about the sound. The beep means continuity. Since it is a solid bar it should be continuous. The reason it stops beeping is because the bar has a film on it . That's why I used the Sandpaper to remove the film. You can try a scotch Brite pad
@@signalsandbits Theoretically, could you take the two places that wire connects to the metal bars and connect them together to bypass the moisture sensor? Closed circuit means clothing is still wet, so if you connect the two wires together, the dryer will always think clothes are still wet and run for the entire duration rather than deciding clothes are dry 10 minutes early and stopping to save power? I haven't removed the sensor yet to see those wires on our model (it's definitely the same part as yours), but it seems like it should work. Just don't know if there's a good pre-made piece to connect them or if it'd need wire stripping and twisting and/or soldering. People talk about having issues with that sensor if they do small loads, so doing this seems like it'd bypass a lot of potential trouble.
very interesting indeed
Nice one. If you have a zebra connection to your multimeter screen, take it apart and clean with ipa. You will get her back to brand new.
Thanks for a great tutorial
LG DRYERS ARE THE WORST DRYERS DO NOT BUY IT YOU WILL REGRET IT
I put a tiny screw into the plastic and fit it back into the housing. Seemed much stronger than using crazy glue.
How do I open the 0.7 cu ft one by Mainstays cuz idk and need to heat up my food
This is great. I am looking to replace the battery with a battery holder. How did you pull out the ribbon cable from the white connector? Also any idea how to remove the XLR latches so that I can access the underside of the pcb?
He didn't shows what's happened aftermath 😅😅😅😅😅
Wow I just hit the sensor with isopropyl alcohol, a light scuff with 220 grit, alcohol again, and boom! Works! Didn't even have to remove 🤙🏼
Grazie a questo video sono riuscito a fare tutte le misurazioni ed a risolvere i problemi. L'unica cosa romasta è il led rotto. Devo acquistare un tipo di led particolare? Grazie mille
Hello, it just uses a regular led. You can use any color.
@@signalsandbits Ok, ty so much
@@signalsandbitsscusa se ti disturbo ancora, dove hai poggiato i puntali del voltmetro per testare il led? Grazie ancora
Hey . What is the chain signal ? you must have some pedal before preamp for sure ? DS1 or booster any kind ? Thanks
It was a while ago but I think I remember going directly into my JCM900 send/receive bypassing the Marshalls preamp. I only used the boost and gain built into the Peavey.
Thank you! I have an LG front load dryer. The problem was the door wasn't shutting down properly and it kept stopping after running for a few minutes. This other video helped fix the issue: ua-cam.com/video/gpGilt38xSo/v-deo.html
thanks for sharing i don't know about this until i saw this video. wow, the metal bars looked clean not until you checked it with ohmeter.
Awesome video first off very informative and love the depth you go into explaining everything, thanks for that. I just bought the exact amp a month or so ago and hadn't even tried it until last night and it comes on fine everything seemed to function properly but no sound. The clipping light becomes more green as i strum the guitar so i'm guessing i may have a similar problem, battery leakage and dead battery. Ugh very disappointing i paid $200 for it and we met at his work so it was in his vehicle so didn't get a chance test it he seemed genuine and honest enough so i went ahead and bought it. I am going to take it apart myself and take a quick look to see if there is anything obvious. This video will help enormously thank you again.
For $200 you got a great deal. These are great amps
@@signalsandbits Hi again I meant to let you know about 5 days ago that I got my amp working after a lot of fiddling around and your right it sounds amazing for the price I got it for. Thought I would let you know and I needed to tell someone that understands the excitement. Happy thanksgiving if your in Canada that is I guess, take care.
THANK YOU for this video, I followed every step you mentioned and my dryer is working again!..
Legend no doubt. Took 30 min to fix it back for hopefully another 6-7 years .
NICE. ultimate professionalism good science
Very helpful video!! What would you recommend for a dryer that’s brand new? Surely there’s nothing built up on the sensors. It stopped drying after 10 minutes the first time I used it, and the clothes were definitely still wet.
Manually set the time to more than 10 minutes. This will bypass the sensors because you set it to a specific time (that's how mine works). If it still shuts off early then its likely not the sensors. Other than that, I would contact the manufacturer if its new they usually give 90 day warranty. Under the warranty they would send someone to your house to fix it.
Lots of simple repair procedures like this ..posted on UA-cam help numbers of ‘do it yourself-ers’ ..which is what I am ..a simple search provides the fix ..thanks for this ..much appreciated ..and ..yes ..great explanation of the basic circuit design ..ultimately allowing for a simple cleaning of the sensor surface without removal from the drum ..and ..done! ..
You are a legend! Microwave door now fixed 👍
Great video, I have to replace the battery on my AddVerb II also, Can I replace the battery with easy replaceable coin batteries instead of having to solder and unsoldering. Seems like it would be easier to replace the factory battery with something more user friendly. Thanks, glad I found your video.
The AddVerb II uses the same battery so you would have to use a 3.7V NiMH or Ni-cad rechargeable battery. You cannot use a single coin cell. The charging circuit is designed for NiMH or Ni-cad. There is really no other way to do it. You will need to remove the old one and solder in a new one.
Thank you for your fast reply. Looks like I need to heat up the soldering iron. Thank again
i have a TL5 and it has the same problem with the switch. is it same to change the capacitor?
Thank you for posting this. My GE profile dryer has similar sensors. After following your instructions my dryer works great.
Wow. Nice job.
