Perfect example of a Z owner. Clean car, colourful personality, really engages in conversation. Matt's picking up some great people and cars for these videos!
Revitalyzed that was two years ago. Z drivers now are what Honda owners where in the fast and the furious days. The new ricers that think they can beat anything on the road. Just because they see a fully gutted tin can Z pugz beating a few v8s.
One more 1-Take where the owner of the car is a nice, cool dude who knows what he's talking about. Matt where do you find these people? One of the reasons why I like these 1-Takes is the owners. I could listen to most of them all day. Oh and I love the Chris Harris impersonation.
Maybe the reason is that gearheads who know about their shit are generally much nicer than most people think. And if they wouldn't know anything I doubt they would like to appear in your videos. By the way if you'll ever come to Germany and want to do 1-Takes on the Autobahn I'd be the first to let you drive one of my cars.
+Jimmy the Saint car enthusiasts are a lot more understanding and friendly in person than most of the idiotic children you see online claiming to know about cars and flaming to be fair.
+Jimmy the Saint you can really tell by the build of the car if the owner really is a true gear head / tuner enthusiast. tasteful mods, clean platform, balanced, usually = cool owner... at least that's how these one takes turn out to be.
+TheSmokingTire agree with jimmy, imagine me coming in with my V6 camry, "hey so what have you donr to it?" "umm I changed the coolant, got new tires....new brake cylinders...yea" since people like me with stock cars know this will happen they wont contact you :D
+Dacrazy-can Yes but they do nothing to directly mute the exhaust. And not all blowers whine if that's not your thing. Personally, I find supercharger whine to be like the perfect melody to the exhaust's harmony.
ya they are the best sounding v6 you can buy pretty much, people with v6 Mustang and v6 genesis coupe always try to replicate it but you can always tell the difference
+Robert Nugent Nissan? The reason the car sounds half way decent is because Nissan borrowed the engine from Renault. Basically every Japanese car that doesn't sound like a tin can full of bees borrows its engine from some European company.
+Carl Manney . I actually bought mine [fully loaded '06] based almost purely on the startup note... this many years later, I still drive with the windows down [when possible] just to hear that exhaust music. Just under 47,000 miles!
I am actually loving the back and forth between Matt and the owner. Better then a LOT of One Takes where the owner is all quiet. I can't say much--If I ever get a chance for a one take I'd probably be kinda quiet, or awkward, but, either way, this is nice to listen too--and the car sounds great.
+Taxi Driver If I should choose I would probarbly go with the 370, but there's just something more iconic over the 350. I know that the 370 is a better car, but for me it would still be a tough choice.
Rottensteam yeah, it is just like when I prefer the C6 Corvette over the C7, its kinda unjustifiable though, but it looks simpler and better in some way in my eyes, still, I know that the c7 z06 is much better than the c7 z06
+Taxi Driver Only in stock form ;). And I absolutely prefer the handling and appearance of the 350Z better than the 370Z -- especially in a roadster version!!
lol, the fly-by when the guy was trying to say something isn't great timing. "Did you get the understeer sorted?" "Myeah, so what we did was....NNNNNYEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWW" Oh. Great. That was informative...
+WindmillStalker The flyby went right in his pause. You literally miss nothing. He says "It has a little bit of oversteer now, but I never push it past its limit." It's not like I put the shot over some great, epic moment where he solves all 350Z suspension design issues.....
the fact that the owner started from the brakes and suspension tuning which lasted a year shows his maturity and real world logic.adding the kindness and humbleness , I honestly hope he may enjoy his ride the best way possible !
...fly-bys are just the right touch of minimal input and maximum gains...hope they're not running you broke because we appreciate them being just enough to break the monotony...keep em coming...
Man just an awesome car . The sound alone makes me excited.. A car well done .. kudos to the tuner/owner. awesome. Loved hearing him speak about figuring out the alignment ... that's hard work.
+Eric Timmer Its hard to find a good one thats well taken care of. The interior quality isnt the best and doesn't hold up well but the engines seem to be bulletproof
+Eric Timmer Having a dual exhaust doesn't necessarily mean it will be quieter. His is really not bad, my Z has an agency power Y back with a Stillen Y pipe and Z1 test pipes and is obnoxious as all hell. After a motordyne Y and Art pipes it should sound much better though.
+hazerkitten Quit hating maybe that's all some of us can afford. The Hrs aren't exactly cheap if you look around I think the DE is perfectly fine. Sure it might be less powerful but it's also 200lbs lighter and puts down higher tq numbers. Fucking hate people like you always shitting on older models, were comparing the same car with some improvements over the years not a TT vs N/A.
everyone says this car is a dog which is unfortunate because they're relatively inexpensive and all the ingredients are there for a good car I'm glad I can get Matt's view on one of these!
Matt, you're a good man. U really made this guys day by complement in him in his modest build. I could see it in his face when you'd made a complement. Well done, sir👍🏻
The 350Z really comes alive as a drivers' car with two things: 1) more front negative camber, and 2) a proper LSD. Other suspension/power/brake work can add benefits as well but these two things I think are crucial for drivers like us. Very nicely done car, Matt. Perfect combination street car and toy.
Thanks for the recent string of drive bys! I'm sure I wasn't the only one requesting these in the one takes. It's nice to hear how these builds sounds from the outside.
Matt, loved the one takes ever since the series started. Few months back I started to kind of back down from them, started to seem dull, but the most recent ones are so good! Regained enthusiasm for them! Owners seem very nice and camera friendly, which I must admit, is important and adds a lot to the video. Also, keep up with the outdoor flybys and generally with great content. Respect!
We need (and love) the members of the More Money Than Brains Club, partly to deliver gorgeous money no object builds, partly to move the goal posts of what we think can be done. But: The majority of us are poor people, doing our best with what we have. This 350 didn't look like it belonged to the budget car group. Besides the exhaust which i don't like partly because it's to loud for me, partly because i'm SO over the 35,5" monster exhaust look, i LOVE how clean it is and the colour really works for me. Great looking car, and SO much respect to the owner for doing things in the right order. ..and spending the time to do it right. Major kudos :)
That's an 07 or 08, which has the HR engine with a 7500 rpm redline. They sound REALLY good, and have significantly more power up top than the DE engine. The feedback through the shifter is one of my favorite parts of the 350z (I've owned 2). Upgrading the suspension, tires, and brakes make it a track weapon. That car has to be heaven on those roads.
+Cornwall1888 was going to ask where in the uk your from. the name speaks for itself. I'm from the north east and there's going right up into Scotland or the lakes but the road in the lakes are chocablocka
+Cornwall1888 cool. anywhere you would suggest? i like doing the A69 up to Edinburgh from durham and heading up the forest tracks from Kielder forest in Northumberland
Love it! Watched this again now as I just bought a 2007 Nissan 350z roadster touring with a MT, only 62,000 miles/just shy of 100,000kms. Basically stock with a Magnaflow catback. Excited to get could and some other suspension upgrades. A little heavier as a roadster but I love it!
I met this guy up at Angeles Crest once. Very cool guy. Awesome video

Nice RPF1s. And good to see a clean Z once in a while. No 'stance' bullshot going on here. I like my red 300ZX TT more, but a clean red Z always get's my thumbs up. Keep your ride clean, dude. And I don't mean wash it.
That's a nice setup, good mix of increasing the handling from stock but still retaining driveability. As for the drone, I looked at a number of setups for my G35, and without a resonator they all seem to drone, but adding one doesn't affect flow enough, unless you're concerned about a couple hp.
Matt, the top part of this road is the best. Sometimes there is bad rocks on the uphilll lane if the rock removal truck hasnt come recently. I DH skate it with my buds all the time and run it with my mk6 GTi. We're serious dh skaters who stay in our lane, haul ass, slide to slow down as we enter the corners.
Matthew Sharbatian That too, titanium (low weight), is what I was looking for. Did you consider the Tomei Expreme Titanium Exhaust Cat Back? It saves ~43lbs. Double the price to the Agency, and does not sound as good. (EDIT: The Tomei is not a true dual. Memory error there!)
+Xo na (Matthew Doucette) True Duel? The Tomei should be a single exit using a y-pipe still. I did consider it but it is way to loud for my taste. I will be buying the Tomei y-pipe to save some more weight and some Berk or AAM test pipes.
Matthew Sharbatian That was my mistake, it's a single exit as you said. I edited my post but you got to it first! :) I was assuming the Agency was louder actually. Goes to show how hard it is to shop for exhausts online.
Matthew Sharbatian By the way, how can we stay up to date with your mods? I would love to follow your progress. If you do UA-cam vids, I'd be sure to subscribe.
Thats cause of that VQ35HR motor as well! Get those cats out of there you’ll livin’ the f%#%* up buddy! My HR did, and an Oil Catch can and clean out that entire mani and throttle bodies 🏎💨 Love the build & love the convo.
350's are definitely a bang for your buck car right now. All around a great car for low budget builds. The VQ35 is a proven engine with possibly the one of the top V6 engine notes. Only problems are the camshaft sensors which is cake anyways!
Every video you put out you have amazing heel to toe man, I've been working on mine this whole year, and the fact that you get it down in every car you get in is amazing much respect brother much love! By the way are the 350z pedals close together like the 300 pedals?
Bringing back memories of my 2008 HR Track edition 350z. I chased that clunk for six months. New whiteline diff and subframe bushings, new Exedy HD clutch and flywheel, new drive shafts and re-shimed the diff for backlash 3 times. Nobody could solve it. Sold it in the end. Though with just bold on it was proper fast! I bought another MX5 instead.
+Smash Da Gas not chatter... that was terrible with the single mass flywheel though. Actual clunk in the drivetrain. You can hear it a second after matt changes gears. It was actually worse when not pushing it. The owner thinks it's stuffed rear subframe bushings... hopefully that is the case for his car.
Thanks Matt, the video turned out great! It was a lot of fun meeting you and I appreciate the opportunity to come hang out!
+carbonjrk I appreciate it!
love the Z man and good luck with the rest of the build
+Stanton Getridge I appreciate it, thank you!
+Matthew Sharbatian are you armenian
+PapayaMan Yes, but born and raised in Texas.
Perfect example of a Z owner. Clean car, colourful personality, really engages in conversation. Matt's picking up some great people and cars for these videos!

One more 1-Take where the owner of the car is a nice, cool dude who knows what he's talking about.
Matt where do you find these people? One of the reasons why I like these 1-Takes is the owners. I could listen to most of them all day.
Oh and I love the Chris Harris impersonation.
We roll the dice every time. It's rare that I know anything about these people besides their name and their car. Most of the time people are very nice

+TheSmokingTire agree with jimmy, imagine me coming in with my V6 camry, "hey so what have you donr to it?" "umm I changed the coolant, got new tires....new brake cylinders...yea" since people like me with stock cars know this will happen they wont contact you :D
that trumpeting VQ note is one of the most beautiful things about these cars...the noise they produce is addicting and unique.
Nothing beats the sound of a nicely tuned NA motor. Forced induction sounds cool but the pure high pitch engine noise is just musical.
Superchargers don't muffle the exhaust like turbos do.
+Z33NY superchargers whine
+Dacrazy-can Yes but they do nothing to directly mute the exhaust. And not all blowers whine if that's not your thing. Personally, I find supercharger whine to be like the perfect melody to the exhaust's harmony.
+Shea Samuels I love N/A motors. No forced induction matches the way they feel and sound and never will.
911 gt3 for life
hell yeah, anybody who owns a 350 knows how damn good that car is...
The G35's and 350z have always sounded amazing even in stock form the sound is no surprise
ya they are the best sounding v6 you can buy pretty much, people with v6 Mustang and v6 genesis coupe always try to replicate it but you can always tell the difference
+Robert Nugent I know I love the exhaust note of my 2006 g35 coupe lol no need to change it
+Carl Manney yes man the vq35s have their own signature sound. kind of fluttery.
+Robert Nugent Nissan? The reason the car sounds half way decent is because Nissan borrowed the engine from Renault. Basically every Japanese car that doesn't sound like a tin can full of bees borrows its engine from some European company.

+Rottensteam Nah 370 makes the 350 irrelevant
+Rottensteam do you prefer the 350 to the 370 though?
I mean the 370s are more powerful

TheSmokingTire
It wasn't a big deal, I just thought it was mostly funny. Still though, seemed a bit awkward on the timing.
hahahahaha
That V6 howl sounds so good!
the fact that the owner started from the brakes and suspension tuning which lasted a year shows his maturity and real world logic.adding the kindness and humbleness , I honestly hope he may enjoy his ride the best way possible !
350 has the best sounding V6 I've ever heard.
The owner is reall passionate and knows his stuff, awesome car too btw
...fly-bys are just the right touch of minimal input and maximum gains...hope they're not running you broke because we appreciate them being just enough to break the monotony...keep em coming...
VQ with a nice exhaust setup is ear porn.
Do have to say its the nicest sounding car you've one-taked in a while. Just a clean smooth sound with out any funny business. Tastefully clean Z.
I appreciate it!
Man just an awesome car . The sound alone makes me excited.. A car well done .. kudos to the tuner/owner. awesome. Loved hearing him speak about figuring out the alignment ... that's hard work.
Love the sound but I think I would go with a dual exhaust to tone it down a little bit. 350Z is my next car, been hunting for the right one.
+Eric Timmer Good luck man :)
+Eric Timmer Its hard to find a good one thats well taken care of. The interior quality isnt the best and doesn't hold up well but the engines seem to be bulletproof

Mord Fustang also, not to fanboy but, HR parts are SOOOO much more expensive than DE parts and every HR owner can agree.
Im glad that you got back to the canyons
Excellent one take! Love the 350Z chassis; it feels so planted. Owner seems like a great guy, and knows his stuff. 👍
Love the All Blacks jersey you're still rocking from New Zealand. We just won the rugby world cup!
everyone says this car is a dog which is unfortunate because they're relatively inexpensive and all the ingredients are there for a good car I'm glad I can get Matt's view on one of these!
This is EASILY my favorite 350Z build. Absolutely stunning in person!
Matt, you're a good man. U really made this guys day by complement in him in his modest build. I could see it in his face when you'd made a complement. Well done, sir👍🏻
Z looks nice! Sounds amazing, perfect exhaust!
The 350Z is an iconic car. Thanks for the video, Matt. Looks like you really enjoyed it.
This Z drives very nice, and the sound is just amazing!
Yes, finally a one take with a Z!
wow, there's actually a 2-way conversation
finally some love for the Z! I DD an '03
The 350Z really comes alive as a drivers' car with two things: 1) more front negative camber, and 2) a proper LSD. Other suspension/power/brake work can add benefits as well but these two things I think are crucial for drivers like us.

True lol my vsld is going bad as we speak
Wow. I did not expect this car to sound this good!

Rpf1 is such a good looking wheel
Damn I love this 350z. Always enjoyed them but I really like how this one is done. Great car Matt!
The fly-by's are nice, Matt. Having the owner peel-out as well is also a cool touch that doesn't require as much effort as well.
GJ! Enjoyed this vid.

LOVE THE FLYBYS MATT, GOOD ADDITION TO THE SHOW
I think Matt was pleasantly surprised with this Z because it has the HR motor.. HUGE difference from the DE motors
Super clean Z. Really digging the outros!
wish there was empty roads like that in the uk
There are plenty in the country side.

NA 6 cylinder. Couldn't concentrate for that exhaust note. Now that is a real raw sound!
OMG I know this car! I used to see him all the time at the meets at Quickly Irvine! Love this car
Wooo! Finally some Z action. Hope you get a manual G37/G35 sedan to drive one day.
Sounds just like my G35. Gotta love those Nissan engines!
What a nice guy. You can see how excited he is :)
Very well done... that is a very clean Z, it's not to dramatic... simplicity goes a long way to me.
The drone is real! Still an awesome car!
that sound of HR engine is beautiful
I met this guy up at Angeles Crest once. Very cool guy. Awesome video

Smart man, suspension first
I just bought one. I'm about to go put the plates on it and drive it for the first time. Very excited to see what this car can do.
Great guest! Car sounds great as well.
Sick build, going back to watch all the Z videos since I’m so excited for the upcoming one lol
Simple, well balanced, sounds great! I dig it!
finnaly a 350z! these things are beautiful ass machines..one of the best sounding 6 cylinders to date.
Man that Z sounds like an RB26. Nice exhaust!
Kind of does bro, mixed with a r35 engine
1:52 Damn, that chirp on the first fly-by though! That's some commitment
Nice car. Seems like he has his base pretty sorted.
Great guest with an awesome var!
People rag on the VQ, but I enjoy the sound of them. Most of the time. The exhaust on this car sounds great IMO. Nice Z.
Loving the flyby shots guys!
Nissan did and outstanding job with the exhaust note on these VQs. Best sounding V6 engine!
+Christian Araujo Don't say that on an Alfa V6 video. Those Busso fanboys think their underpowered pos is the best V6 ever :0)
That's gotta be the nicest sounding VQ I've ever heard.
Thank you!
I like the addition of the fly-bys
Finally a VQ platform its long overdue, I can't believe a 350z or G35 hasn't been featured sooner
I would love to see a B13 sentra in a one take. Very underrated cars.
great exhaust sound from modified Nissan 350 z.
one of the few v6 sounds I enjoy
I had a 2007 350z for 7 years. Absolutely loved unit and still miss it :/
Beautiful video, beautiful car, beautiful driving roads;
Thank you!
One of my favorite cars I've owned. Since you have an HR I'd recommend a 4.08 gear swap. Really seemed to wake mine up.
gotta love that VQ. The intake sound in the cabin is great. Not as much the exhaust from the outside though
Wonderful owner and nice ride.
As well as being a nice looking, handling and sounding car, the owner seems to be a nice bloke too!
I was looking at Agency Power Exhausts. Love their sound. Great ride, Matt Sharbatian!
With its deep sound and low weight, it's a great exhaust. Thank you very much!

Cool guyyyyyy
good to see you rocking the all blacks jacket!
I have a z as well fully moded and agency power exhaust
Still your best one take
Thats cause of that VQ35HR motor as well! Get those cats out of there you’ll livin’ the f%#%* up buddy! My HR did, and an Oil Catch can and clean out that entire mani and throttle bodies 🏎💨 Love the build & love the convo.

Gallery Gasket too
Good job on this vid, love the Z's look. Matt has similarities to Cain Velasquez from UFC..
Pretty nice. Clean. I like the exhaust note.
What's the "illegal" blue brake fluid?
Man that sounds great haha. Z DRIVERS FTW
Every video you put out you have amazing heel to toe man, I've been working on mine this whole year, and the fact that you get it down in every car you get in is amazing much respect brother much love! By the way are the 350z pedals close together like the 300 pedals?
That Chris Harris accent though
looked silky smooth that road!! nice car also, need them roads in my life!!!!!!!!
Bringing back memories of my 2008 HR Track edition 350z. I chased that clunk for six months.
