KingDinasaur he mentions the brakes suck and fluid is 25 years old and there’s construction cones and slow cars, but yeah he went super slow I was hoping for some turbo noises
I saw this car in person 3 days ago during the One Take filming of my NSX. Looks absolutely stunning with the refinished wheels, meaty tires, and gun metal paint.
I love your car Matt and i'm glad you'll be keeping it stock! R32 prices are so inflated in the USA vs. up here in Canada that a LOT of people are now buying up and importing R33+R34 Skylines up here and sitting on them until they become legal in the US. It's a legitimate investment opportunity. So yes, my American friends, please continue to pay inflated prices for Skylines! You can buy an R34 Skyline GTS-T for $10-20k in Canada and a decent R32 GTS-T can be bought for $5-10k.
I really love when you review your own cars. I can sympathize with your desire to not come off as douchey, but honestly, it doesn't come off as such to anyone with any semblance of a brain. In fact, these one takes are my favorite because you show real knowledge and passion for the car. From what I've seen, as long as you focus on the intangibles, how the car feels to drive, and don't just read a list of mods and brag about how fast it is, it really comes off as humble passion, and not attention seeking narcism. This is, IMO, the best production quality of any One Take you've made thus far (though I'm sure that's do more to time constraints when filming fan's cars). Keep it up, man!
+Caleb Marshall Amen. It's the sharing of the intangibles and the best use cases of cars that make for the most interesting reviews. Glad that Matt is still on his A-game on these despite being restricted to one-take videos these days.
Digg it!! If i could afford to by a GT-R32,I'd be a werry happy man!! :D But...here in Norway.. We hawe some STUPID rules/laws, when it comes to rigth hand driven cars and import's! :( It's difficult to get them road legal and innsured! **It cost's a fucking fortune** (The system/law's,is shitt'y and corupt'ed) But,inough sayd about that subjekt! MAN,it's sooo cool 2 see a R32 With some RUBBER on the rims!!
+TheSmokingTire Matt first off great example of an R32. Loved the video.. Just 2 things: 1.). Handbrake light means your brake pads are worn OR brake fluid is low. (Or both) 2.) consider the oil pump collar mod for your RB26. Early motors were notorious for stripping them and losing all oil pressure. High revving a lot or a mechanical over rev from a miss shift can cause it. Just something to think about. Keep the videos coming. And I hope you see this post
"I'm going to leave the car stock"...I" powder coated the wheels" "I'm going to upgrade the brakes" ...."I might go with a 17" wheel" ..." I deleted the hicas" ..."took out the restrictor to up the boost"
+Drjve Delivering real JDM Vehicles Well he is just replacing the rotors and fluid, which it needs. He powder coated the wheels to look like they do stock yet new.
appreciate this Matt! not showing off at all, you're sharing. don't get me wrong, I'm jealous but you're humble and have worked hard for what you have. would love an update for this or a road trip video in it!
love the car, I got my R32 GTR a couple of months ago and couldn't be happier. car is completely stock besides a HKS EVC boost controller and run about 1 bar and is perfect early how it is. definitely one of the best GT cars for the money!
Must admit, that i do love your vids, specially with seeing the roads instead of you, meaning we all get to enjoy the roads with you, which means a lot more, than watching you, like a few of other vloggers do,in the Uk!!! Watching, from the island of Mauritius.
Your philosophy is spot on. I've dreamed of owning a 1st gen NSX for as long as I could remember. When I'm finally in a position to buy one, Ohlins, wheels, tires, Ti exhaust, paint protection film and perhaps some more aggressive brakes will likely be my only modifications to the car. Don't care if it'll be the fastest, but I know the NSX won't fail to make me smile. Great video, Matt! You've been on fire lately with all these uploads. Keep 'em coming!
Congrats Matt. I was really looking forward to this video. Your decision to leave it as stock as possible is a good one IMO. I know you take a lot of crap from chat and others sometimes, but personally I like your videos. Been here since Garage 419 and your "simplistic" no bullshit content is enjoyable.
Very nice review Matt. Thanks for taking the time to show us your car, I really appreciate you enthusiasm. You've got me interested in them now. Enjoy!
Ah dang matt you should get a job as a mailman now! You already have the right hand drive car! Think of all the complaints about how slow the USPS is... you have a chance to fix this! Almost like your destiny, a mailman with a 1990 Nissan Skyline GTR would be the most epic bruh.
+doctorlobsteroctopus My last 2 944's had that too, 85.5+ 944s all had the antenna glass. It sucks when you need a new windshield as they are a lot more expensive.
Im from Australia and I love Skylines and seeing that you got a 32 is just awesome! You need to come to Aus to check out the car scene, drive some other Skylines, I have a friend with a rare HR31 GTSX coupe and multiple friends with the normal 4 door R31 Skyline (including myself), you gotta come here soon to check it all out!
+TheSmokingTire The dash bubble is really easy to fix. Go get "marine vinyl conditioner" and rub it on your dash. Do it a few times and it will go away. Dividing the "twin turbo" pipe will make the power delivery much more linear.
Nice video, nice car. Love the Skyline GTR, even though they are pretty common over here, they are my favorite Japanese 90s car. These videos you make are so much nicer than the supercar vloggers, so keep up the good work!
Matt, for the parking brake warning light I recommend you top up the brake fluid. I think that when the fluid sloshes around it can momentarily read as low. It gave me the parking brake light in my Toyota for that reason so it could be the same on your car.
+GzillaR34 Ceramic turbos have a lighter mass and spin up notably faster. For stock boost- Theyre _amazing_. But you can *not* go past 1 bar (14-15 psi, depending on elevation) on them- They simply shatter, damn near like _clockwork_, once you exceed this. The steel turbos however, wont.
+SidewaysGts so basically the ceramic turbos spool up quicker but over 14-15 psi it will shatter correct ? The steel turbos are the opposite . And obviously weight a little more ?
+SidewaysGts wow never really looked into that and I know he said it in the video. One thing I always focused on the R32 was its ATTESA AWD system that you can hit a switch to make a burn out. But other then that that's interesting .
wow what a beauty. brings me back to the days when i got mine. my resistor was still in when i got it, 3.5 inch catback exhaust was so quite, 17 inch enkei blue rimmed 5 spoke. but i never got that dash bubble. but the miles on this one holy, crazy. good stuff bro love it.
Low brake fluid = Parking Brake Light. The AC controller can simply be a loose connection for the controller. Mine started acting up and it was just half way disconnected.
FINALLY!!! I have been waiting to see you buying and enjoying a True legend of a GTR ever since you came here to New Zealand and Drover Faizals R34! Congrats! I hope you keep it and enjoy it more and more
I wish more people had your mentality about how to own this car, as well as the rest of Japanese super GT type cars we were blessed with during the 90s. There's so much to appreciate and enjoy when keeping them mildly stock, and just driving the hell out of them. Great review, Great car, I wouldn't touch a thing either except like you said the pads, fluid, lines, etc. and a great choice of tires
Listening to this on the way home made me feel pure driving bliss. How you described the feel of driving that Skyline; that's what I'd like to find out of whatever car I own next.
I like seeing Matt drive his own cars :) He says we might not be impressed if we're not from the US where they were only recently able to be imported, but honestly - because we didn't have the import ban in Australia and R32s are a dime a dozen (sort of) it's actually really rare to see a clean R32 GTR. There's any number of base model Skylines dolled up as GTRs, and numerous GTRs that have been ruined by tasteless idiots and people with no mechanical sympathy, so it's relatively rare to see a nice R32 GTR.
Love this camera position Matt. Hope to see this more often. Heard the podcast and I know it doesn't make much sense but it's just a better view to see the cars speed
Kilobits Well I just recently picked up a '15 pro4x since they are extinct now :( it was so hard to find one!! But yes I have a lot planned including off road bumper, a winch setup, mild lift, etc.
I had no idea you had one of these, Matt! I thought you were all Mustang and Corvette Gung-Ho, but this truly signifies your exceptionally bad-fucking-ass taste in all cars! Thank you so much for sharing or else a lot of people would have never known!
+douwebaekelandt Well, 10 years of additional development will lead to a faster car, obviously. Using your logic though the R35 is superior to the R34, but the reality is that each car needs to be taken within it's historical context and appreciated for its unique aspects and the driving experience it delivers. The R32 was the first and original Godzilla. The thing was released in the 80's and dominated everything upon release. The R34 was dominant too, but in the 90s.
+Chris Cahill Yes, but the fox body and this car were produced around the same time. I've owned both, both of which were highly modified. The fox body, even with the entire Maximum Motorsports catalog thrown at feels like driving a horse and buggy next to an R32 GTR.
I remember looking at this car in video games from the early 2000s, but seeing this car in a review video like this brings back memories. You don't see hydraulic powered cars like this anymore.
I grew up around these cars in Trinidad n i always wanted one. I plan on buying one soon but i have a hard time deciding whether to get a Gtst or a GTR...Kudos to you Matt for keeping stock and in great shape
If I were Matt, I would do whatever mods I wanted to do to it, keep the stock components, and when it's time to resale, put the stock components back on. That way you have a funner car to drive, and also you don't put the mileage on the stock components :)
I was speaking in regards to keeping it stock for the sake of resale value. If you were to put it at auction down the line as a stock car you cant advertise it that way just because you put the stock parts back on
+Bender Rodriquez other than the skyline and mustang he has a 900000+ mile Lexus ls400, delorean, Aston Martin (vanquish I believe), C5 corvette, and Chevy volt
Really love the idea of keeping this mostly stock. It looks fantastic as it sits with the minor restorations you've done, but the tire situation definitely might call for some new shoes in the future. The slightly balloonish tires do have some character to them though!
tavi921 You can get a Skyline like this all day long here in Canada for roughly 10-15k Cdn. www.kijiji.ca/b-autos-camions/grand-montreal/skyline/k0c174l80002
As is normal for you Matt, a fair, balanced review and always a pleasure to watch. You've got a car there that's the dogs bollocks. Hope it continues to give you much pleasure. As an aside - glad to see that your cat's doing well. Live long and prosper Axel.
+presteronetj +1 for this. Not too sure a lot of Americans know what a Pulsar GTi-R is, though, or can appreciate it for what it was. A proper niche Nissan unicorn if there ever was one
+presteronetj You want to lightweight homologation special GTi-RA. Came in creme only. The problem is though, they are quite nose heavy and aren't the most tail happy. It was seen as the king of the turbo Jap hatches, and you can make them quick as, but personally I would rather have a Mazda GT-R AE
Wait. You don't go through drive throughs? so what are you eating? - From a guy that's your size, while doing no exercise, and eating way too fucking much fast food.
You realize that it's possible to eat unhealthily while at the same time not eating fast food, correct? About 2-3 years ago, I topped out at about 250 lbs. (I'm 6'2" and now weigh 165). Never ever ate fast food, just a crapload of chips, ice cream, and general junk foods in insanely oversized portions. Not to mention as little physical exertion as possible.
Such a beautiful car! I'm looking forward to picking up one of these or a RHD Supra MKIV in a few years. Thanks for giving the people what they want Matt! Enjoy your skyline :)
He drives other people's cars so much harder lolll
+KingDinasaur so true^
KingDinasaur he mentions the brakes suck and fluid is 25 years old and there’s construction cones and slow cars, but yeah he went super slow I was hoping for some turbo noises
It's weird cos my dad owns a Focus for 11 years and every time we go out he romps on it,
Right hand drive is the reason
I saw this car in person 3 days ago during the One Take filming of my NSX. Looks absolutely stunning with the refinished wheels, meaty tires, and gun metal paint.
I just watched your review of that white NSX. Been a subscriber of yours for sometime. Can't wait to see his review on yours.
+Gnik4144 Thanks for the support!
+Zygrene Look forward to his review on your NSX.
I love your car Matt and i'm glad you'll be keeping it stock! Thanks for the shoutout, Matt.
No worries
Thanks Meme Imports.
I love the amount of tire on it. no one puts enough tire on their car anymore :D
No - low profile tires suck. Especially if you live in an area with bad roads
I really love when you review your own cars. I can sympathize with your desire to not come off as douchey, but honestly, it doesn't come off as such to anyone with any semblance of a brain. I like the Ad placement! Its not annoying and it helps you out.
FYI- The Parking Brake light on older Nissans lights up for low brake-fluid levels too.
same on hondas
Even on my VW Golf lol
My 01 corolla same lol
Love those fat meaty tires, look so good!
Bloody oath!
@@offthewall4919fellow Aussie who remembers!
Wow, those wheels look great.
It's always nice to see Matt driving on the correct side of the car.
haha! yes!
R32s will always look best with wide tires with meaty sidewalls
+Seth Baker ricer?
dranel valle how is that a ricer fuck head?

I wanna get in those walls
I know I'm late but with a body like that you don't even need beefy sidewalls for the wide tires!! it just naturally looks so damn nice.
+TheSmokingTire
Matt first off great example of an R32. Loved the video..
Just 2 things:
1.). Handbrake light means your brake pads are worn OR brake fluid is low. (Or both)

Hes not modding it for drag racing
***** No one ever said that lol
This is heart warming. From a kid playing GT in the 90's -- I do really appreciate this.
Oh the nostalgia is strong with this one...Congrats dude!
appreciate this Matt! not showing off at all, you're sharing. don't get me wrong, I'm jealous but you're humble and have worked hard for what you have. would love an update for this or a road trip video in it!
You are so lucky to actually own one of these ultra rare stock r32 skylines... Amazing car!
I live in northern Utah, USA and there are 2 or 3 Gt-Rs and 1 or 2 Gt-s T's within a few miles of my home.
I love the way those tires/wheels look.
love the car, I got my R32 GTR a couple of months ago and couldn't be happier. car is completely stock besides a HKS EVC boost controller and run about 1 bar and is perfect early how it is. definitely one of the best GT cars for the money!
I think the 16" wheels really add to that feeling of refinement you talk about. It is amazing how much a little more tire can soak up bumps.
yeah i love fat meaty tires! reminds me of the 959 rally car.
If you decide to go 17's, stock R33 GTR wheels look great and they're not too expensive. Also they're 17x9 so easy to get good tires.
Absolutely beautiful R32 GT-R!
Must admit, that i do love your vids, specially with seeing the roads instead of you, meaning we all get to enjoy the roads with you, which means a lot more, than watching you, like a few of other vloggers do,in the Uk!!! Watching, from the island of Mauritius.
For the longest time I was wondering how you got California plates on the GTR only to find that it actually has South Carolina plates.
Your channel is awesome, be saluted .
+PacificCoastAuto You're the man Derek...hope the upcoming DriveJapan channel really takes off this year!!!
Hope everything is going well for you
Congrats on your car dude! What are you looking to get next?
Gt350R
+TheSmokingTire Merica
+TheSmokingTire review my Fiesta ST! its got upgrades!
+TheSmokingTire old jag with an LS is what he's wanting
+Griffin Blanchard Matt had a stage 3 Cobb fiesta so I doubt he wants to review yours.
Life's too short to stay stock......
Never liked the current GT-R but the old Skylines are just great!
+slaWterCH yeah the r35 is based on a really boring concept
r35 isn't even a skyline. An Altima is more of a skyline than the r35.
14:54 the ghost of GTR past just fell from the dome light
+steve j Hahahah
+steve j I wonder what that was...
+Vince Garage I think dust from the inside of the lens.
+steve j Wow I read this comment, scrolled up, and it was exactly at 14:54 and I saw it haha!
Get Volk te37's in the same color. That is the wheel for this car. :)
Don't leave it stock, modify it but keep the stock parts! Have a drive of our R32 GT-R project car and you will change your mind.
atleast change the ceramic turbos because if those break its gonna be a bad day
+MotiveDVD He already has the mustang project car
+MotiveDVD Matt, if you listen to anyone, listen to these guys, they know their GTRs
+MotiveDVD Try Andrew's car if you are in Australia sometime Matt! :)
please do what they say!
Exact spec I want. Love that you're keeping it stock, I think they look perfect right out of the box. The meaty toyo's look great as well.
Very nice review Matt. Thanks for taking the time to show us your car, I really appreciate you enthusiasm. You've got me interested in them now. Enjoy!
wow.SOOOO clean..and I'm from Australia and I'm impressed!!

Todd Ison I believe he has good potential for tofu delivery.
What is the line down the center of the windshield - the antenna?
Yep
+TheSmokingTire My SW20 has that also. Must be an early 90's Japanese thing.
+TheSmokingTire Doesnt it get annoying?
+doctorlobsteroctopus mine has the silly retractable one in the back.
+doctorlobsteroctopus My last 2 944's had that too, 85.5+ 944s all had the antenna glass. It sucks when you need a new windshield as they are a lot more expensive.
Congrats on the pick-up, Matt! The R32 is by far my favorite Skyline. Amazing piece of machinery
Im from Australia and I love Skylines and seeing that you got a 32 is just awesome!

+TheSmokingTire The dash bubble is really easy to fix. Go get "marine vinyl conditioner" and rub it on your dash. Do it a few times and it will go away.

bro chick fila drive thru is top notch
+TheSmokingTire Thanks for keeping the ad at the beginning short, to the point, and relevant.
Same with older Honda's.
seeing Gtr's are still rare in Australia as most of them have been crashed by people who cant drive!
Man, that is depressing af. :/
I thought down there was teeming with jdm coolness.
+tavi921 well with a side of idiots
still probably more in Aus than Japan.
R32 Gtr with 50000km in aus would be 40 k
Nice car! all 32, 33 ,34 GTRs had ceramic turbos except for the N1/nismo models which had steel turbos.
Really why is that?
+GzillaR34 Ceramic turbos have a lighter mass and spin up notably faster. For stock boost- Theyre _amazing_. But you can *not* go past 1 bar (14-15 psi, depending on elevation) on them- They simply shatter, damn near like _clockwork_, once you exceed this. The steel turbos however, wont.

I'm beyond jealous. If i owned a skyline, I'd have the exact same car and mods on it. I love that you're keeping it stock dude. I love your vids.
Parking brake light may be due to fluid levels in master cylinder?
+Russ Very likely! I used to own a nissan and it did the same thing. Low brake fluid = parking brake light on.
+detaart I had no idea that was a thing! I've got a parking brake light issue on my z31.
The low fluid could be caused by worn pads
Loebane Yup. Took me a while to figure out the sensor was bad.
Low brake fluid = Parking Brake Light. The AC controller can simply be a loose connection for the controller. Mine started acting up and it was just half way disconnected.
My AC actually fixed itself.
Thanks for the brake fluid tip I'll check that
No problem! Car looks good man.
lol I was going to ask why you had a claw in your back seat, then i realized how brilliant it is
i love everything about the look of this skyline, i love the slightly ballooned toyo's and stock rims too.
FINALLY!!! I have been waiting to see you buying and enjoying a True legend of a GTR ever since you came here to New Zealand and Drover Faizals R34! Congrats! I hope you keep it and enjoy it more and more
4:05 that stone XD
Lol had to pause to see the smile lmao
I would call it a boulder... but i suppose it's made of the same stuff
That is a beautiful road to drive the R32.
i love those wheels.
I wish more people had your mentality about how to own this car, as well as the rest of Japanese super GT type cars we were blessed with during the 90s.
There's so much to appreciate and enjoy when keeping them mildly stock, and just driving the hell out of them.

Such a beauty. Glad you're trying to appreciate it for what it was and is. So rare these days.
Matt, you got the best one!!!!!, love it :)
So hilarious when he pulled out "The Grabber", I totally laughed my ass off!
FINNNNARRRRRRYYYYYYYYY
Your group of cars you own is so diverse and awesome.
Listening to this on the way home made me feel pure driving bliss. How you described the feel of driving that Skyline; that's what I'd like to find out of whatever car I own next.
I also have a r32! ...... Golf lol
love body lines on the R32 over the 33 and 34. What it lacks in speed , it gains in looks.
I like seeing Matt drive his own cars :)
He says we might not be impressed if we're not from the US where they were only recently able to be imported, but honestly - because we didn't have the import ban in Australia and R32s are a dime a dozen (sort of) it's actually really rare to see a clean R32 GTR. I have a corvette, that I love, but I'd trade it in for a low milage r34 in a heart beat
When the abarth 124 spider comes out can u do a review on that love your videos by the way
Finally! the r32!
Thank you for this video. It's great to see your appreciation towards the R32.
Awesome Matt! I'm glad you did the review on your Skyline. Beautiful car! Yeah my parking light came on when my brake fluid was a little low as well.
best Skyline GTR ever !!! R34 is just overhyped.
How is it overhyped? Please explain
Hey kid, just because you see more 34's on youtube doesn't mean they're "overhyped". Plus it's a fact the 34 is a better car. Overhyped lol
+douwebaekelandt Well, 10 years of additional development will lead to a faster car, obviously. Using your logic though the R35 is superior to the R34, but the reality is that each car needs to be taken within it's historical context and appreciated for its unique aspects and the driving experience it delivers. How much was it? The total cost.
+Wesley Hur In that condition I bet it was $20K or more. I have seen some half as ones for 12k-17k.
james hawkins THX!
+Wesley Hur
I'd bet closer to 30k in that shape with one owner.
On the site he was talking about it were over $20-$25,000
+Wesley Hur international vehicle importers can finance the cars so you can do payments rather than buy it all at once
lmao "my fox body mustang is a piece of shit compared to this"
Could be said while driving 90% of cars lol
No
+WeekEnd133 Thats not how it works...
+Pickle312 explain how that's not how it works. Makes sense to me. Anyone who is into cars never keeps it stock no matter how much they say they will
I was speaking in regards to keeping it stock for the sake of resale value. If you were to put it at auction down the line as a stock car you cant advertise it that way just because you put the stock parts back on
+WeekEnd133 I'm into cars. I keep them stock.
How many cars do you own currently own
7
+TheSmokingTire This, the Mustang...what else?
+Bender Rodriquez corvette, his 12349230402398mile lexus, chevy volt, delorean, vanquish
+Bender Rodriquez other than the skyline and mustang he has a 900000+ mile Lexus ls400, delorean, Aston Martin (vanquish I believe), C5 corvette, and Chevy volt
+spforsupergringo1980 dont forget the fiesta
Look into BFGoodrich G-Force 2 tires
over Toyo R888's? You're crazy
+Emilio Perez Haha thats a big downgrade.
+FORDboy357 well I never said to get them over the Toyos, It was just a suggestion for a "bang for the buck" tire.
Emilio Perez Toyo R888s.......
Really love the idea of keeping this mostly stock. It looks fantastic as it sits with the minor restorations you've done, but the tire situation definitely might call for some new shoes in the future. The slightly balloonish tires do have some character to them though!
Thanks for sharing Matt! I like these cars and it's great America finally gets to enjoy them.
2024 when you can import the R34 skyline, gotta start saving 💰💰💰
+Langit same thing i am awaiting on. 1999-02 r34 or you could wait four to six years for a r33
is this video sponsored by import bible?
eggncheezy mixes no
Judging by the state of this car I can assume it cost well over $25k.
Gtr with those low km in Aus is 40 k
i had a low mileage 93 r32 gtr about 10yrs ago...cost about 10k back then
Do you live in japan
tavi921 You can get a Skyline like this all day long here in Canada for roughly 10-15k Cdn.
www.kijiji.ca/b-autos-camions/grand-montreal/skyline/k0c174l80002
They start at 1,600,000 yen in japan , I doubt it
Finally! Thanks so much Matt for posting this!
As is normal for you Matt, a fair, balanced review and always a pleasure to watch. You've got a car there that's the dogs bollocks. Hope it continues to give you much pleasure. As an aside - glad to see that your cat's doing well. Live long and prosper Axel.
Do a pulsar GTi-R next!!!
+presteronetj +1 for this. Not too sure a lot of Americans know what a Pulsar GTi-R is, though, or can appreciate it for what it was. A proper niche Nissan unicorn if there ever was one
I want to know more about them I could care less about GTRs lol and I'm in the U.S
Godzilla!
completely jealous, this is my fav year. You're making the best decision keeping it stock. nissan in it's prime
Such a beautiful car! I'm looking forward to picking up one of these or a RHD Supra MKIV in a few years. Thanks for giving the people what they want Matt! Enjoy your skyline :)
