Matt you're a really good driver I feel like people over look this. You're casually vlogging while whipping everything from lemons to hyper cars, while shifting like a boss and not fucking up other people's cars. Good job dude
Jalopnik voted, motordyne shockwave, the 2nd best sounding v6 other than jaguar F type. Just make sure you get the 07-08 HR 350Z. The HR Z is a different car than the 03-06 DE cars. HR Z is faster and can actually pull a 13.2 second 1/4 mile stock. It has a way improved suspension making the Z much more comfortable and better handling. The transmission is sturdier on the 07-08 350Zs. The interior is improved as well. They're as quick as the 370Zs and they are a great value. The Enthusiast model has a limited slip and none of the bells and whistles. Put a decent break kit on that and you have a well rounded sports car. If Nissan put the VQ35HR/CD008 transmission into them from the very beginning the car would have a very different reputation. I loved my 2007 350Z/6MT in Pikes Peak White.
+Victor Pla Unless something has happened that I'm not aware of, the HR was always regarded as the beefier engine in comparison to the DE when it came to FI.
Thanks Matt for a great review on the car! It was awesome finally getting to meet you in person. Btw for everyone saying it is loud, that was right after the new resonated test pipes went on. The carbon build up now makes it a little less twangy sounding and more smooth. Still loud as it is straight through :)
06 g35 coupe 5at vq35de owner here. I can definitely say that I love the HR motor and setup in the z. I got an orisis tune on my DE and they can wake both of those motors up with a few bolt ons too
i just want to take the time and give the owner much effin respect on that intake set up.. I've been thru maybe 4 different set ups,and once i seen that "custom duct" i knew that was it lol... can't wait till my day off to replicate that set up..
That wing on the bmw...I know ur on a track but damn...Another freaking awesome video Matt. You and anyone helping you behind the scenes are absolute BEASTS!
as a sentient being, that internal combustion engine based method of transport modifies gasses surrounding it in such a way that I am stimulated with excitement sexually
Thanks! It took me a while to get the setup right, but now ive got it dialed in and it works predictably so that's one less thing to worry about. I just got one of those dope new sennheiser digital lavs and can actually get audio in race cars now!
With that cooling issue, I just took my thermostat off as my 350z stays in Vegas so it doesn’t need one. The car can warm up still but it will never overheat. The car runs great and I’ve drifted it before and redline it and beat on it all the time. Car has reached the halfway coolant temp after sitting at a light on some highway pulls. Huge recommendation to all Z owners if you push your car hard and starts to over heat.
I know a few people that take the rear sway bar out so the back end rolls more like a boat instead of stiffening the back and making it kick out faster.
Awesome review! Sounds like you are having a great time driving Matt's car Matt, i'd love to be there to check out the track. Just a little tip, if you meet a guy dressed in a Luigi outfit and he offers you a gummy bear DON'T TAKE IT!!
Too bad I missed that, I'll be up at my uncles house is SouthHaven in a couple weeks. I've always wanted to do an HPDE event at Gingerman in my FiST, but the times have never quite lined up.
Running without a rear sway bar is common on the Z and when I tried it the handling improved. I did have to increase the rear spring rate by 50lbs/inch.
Matt you're a really good driver I feel like people over look this. You're casually vlogging while whipping everything from lemons to hyper cars, while shifting like a boss and not fucking up other people's cars. Good job dude
Truth.
Thanks!
God I love the way the VQ engine sounds with an aftermarket exhaust.
Thats HR too.
Reminds me of the GTR, but I actually like the way this sounds a lot better.
I think you hear the intake noise more then the exhaust with where the camera is, at least thats how it was with my VQ.
+MisterLizard depends on the exhaust really, mine overwhelms the intake once it gets going but when you first step into it you can deffinetly hear it.

Ah yes. The sound of my people. I enjoyed this one
I must admit, i like the sound of the VQ engine alot.
Sometimes the look, sound and feel of fast is all you really need. Good car and video Matt.
no
Yeah. Just have a nice fun car is what i like. Not looking for 1000 horsepower.
+bigpotpoker1 what the fuck you own? A 2016 toyota camry?
As long as you're having fun it doesn't matter how fast you're going.
+surewin exactly
as an 08 z owner thanks for this one, favorite car.
what a screamer! I love those 350z's...I think they look better than 370 too
yeah and cheaper the new z has to much technology in the car hard to personalise

+mberezh yes your right
+mberezh if u take the NA Route then Yes, but Force Induction the DE is awsome
+Victor Pla Unless something has happened that I'm not aware of, the HR was always regarded as the beefier engine in comparison to the DE when it came to FI.
best sounding v6 I've ever heard
tin ears
I also like the 3.2L V6 out of the NSX. It sounds wonderful with an exhaust or straight pipe conversion.
Until your hear the F-TYPE V6...
The crackles and pops only make that engine sound good, IMO.
Pah..Alfa's Busso V6 rips it a new arsehole.
I love the sound of the HR engine. I bet that car is a blast.
I love Tomei!! Definitely best sounding exhaust for the z.
That's me swapping the head on my black M3 in the background! Nice.

Thanks for letting me have a go!
try a 380rs gas pedal if you haven't already, best 50 bucks you can spend on a track z
+Brembo Z I will look into that!
Ugh I love how these cars sound. Wish mine was a HR like this one. That color is gorgeous as well!
That Tomei w the cheap Megan test pipes sounds so good
I love the way those Z's sound!
You were catching them on the turns.Car obviously handles very well.Even stock they handle nice I can imagine this one

I loved seeing you at gridlife, awesome seeing you in cars of people who live in my area.
Nice vid. That 350 sounds so raw. I swear every time Matt whips out the glasses I think Fender Tremolo from the old movie Cyborg. Menacing haha.

great video love the track ones. Matt you lines were much better than those other guys.
Thanks! I love working on the track!
TheSmokingTire
I wish I lived near one.
Owners groups like porsche, bmw, etc usually host them and you don't have to drive the same make as the owners groups.
The fact that you could hear him better at high REV than at low REV.......
harmonics is a wonderful thing
It's a VQ thing... lol
Because fuck logic
Greater differentiation of frequencies makes it easier to distinguish
Best VQ Sound Ever
350s are life
Twin Turbo 350's are the real deal ;)
But Old ZX's have serious class and road presence.
#zcarsmatter
350s are fuck boy cars
Love the sound of a 350Z!
Matt is such a smooth driver
One of my favourite cars. Awesome video
this car looks fun as hell
Nice work, impressive how you can step in a car and drive it that close to the limit. Love the VQ35HR!
Such a beautiful car, God I love 350z's
this type of one take i like it
Those heel toe shifts tho....🔥
Love the Infiniti G and Nissan Z series. Beautiful cars, and even more beautiful sounds. #VQLife
Finally a "track" prepped Z and not a "stanced" Z..... Good review
Love the revs!
sounds like an agressive trumpet
Love it. all I hear is the sound of the VQ V6... and barely hear matt at all.
Love that Nissan engine
Your helmet reminds me of the helmets on Halo 1 marines haha
I could not hear a word he said, but that exhaust was fan fucking tastic.
Sounds good.
Damn nfsu2 nailed the sound if i hear this. I can listen to this all day :O
Seen that it was an HR , I automatically liked the video before it even started .
A really cool video thank you Matt. You looked really comfortable driving out once you got a feel for the set up. Seems a good momentum car.
As an 18 year old that thing sounds amazing
As a 26 year old, that thing sounds amazing.
As a 10 year old, that thing sounds amazing.
+MrDCdrifter as a human being, that thing sounds amazing
As a heterosexual being that thing sounds beastly
as a sentient being, that internal combustion engine based method of transport modifies gasses surrounding it in such a way that I am stimulated with excitement
sexually
Great shifting up and down the box bro :)
It was great to see you at Gridlife Mr. Farrah!
I hope regular got invited to this event, he could do an awesome report.
Matt, your Zoom H4N setup is absolutely amazing. You really up your sound game.
Thanks! It took me a while to get the setup right, but now ive got it dialed in and it works predictably so that's one less thing to worry about. I just got one of those dope new sennheiser digital lavs and can actually get audio in race cars now!
Wow, the gears are really long on that car. Very cool! I considered a 350z before I got my E36M3
Good stuff. Thanks Matt
I couldn't help but laugh a little with you yelling over the exhaust and I could still barely hear you lol
amazing driving for getting into a new car
Top review.... The 350Z is certainly a lot of fun for very little money
Nice well balanced Z
Nice video Matt! This Z is only a few parts off from my Z. Once I change a couple things on the car I'm definitely inviting you out to buttonwillow.
Damn time flies weren´t you there last year? i think i remember some videos
LS Swap is my favorite 350z mod

wow this is a serious build
When are you posting a e60 M5 video?
In a few weeks. I have filmed one and its in the queue
Cool. hope it's a 6MT.
+M Sabbagh Didn't know they made manual e60 m5s.
+Alexander Willems about 1390 of them according to wiki. All for the North American market. I happen to have one (biased).
+M Sabbagh That makes the e60 so much better to me. I wouldn't expect the north American market to get the good stuff. We usually get screwed over.
That sounds AMAZING
Stupid ass car is so loud that it made my tinnitus flare up. Thanks Matt.
hahaha np :)
I know a few people that take the rear sway bar out so the back end rolls more like a boat instead of stiffening the back and making it kick out faster.
The car sounds super loud! Just like how a racecar should be!
Tomei makes you wanna go WOT everytime. I have the same exhaust on my HR Z. Its gotten me into trouble on numerous occasions.
Nice driving. I couldn't tell what anything was past the 911, but looked like you did a good job even accounting for the traffic.
The m3 is missing the apex bye a bigger gap then the one under his spoiler
Awesome review! Sounds like you are having a great time driving Matt's car Matt, i'd love to be there to check out the track. Just a little tip, if you meet a guy dressed in a Luigi outfit and he offers you a gummy bear DON'T TAKE IT!!
Those VQ engines sound like a trumpet
The most excited I've ever heard someone say two inches ;)
Patiently waiting for the Pontibishi :)
Also, I was sad I didnt get you in my G35 at this event to track, but this car is similar at least
thanks Matt ! your videos are great man keep it up....
so far so loud:) luv it!!
HR FTW 💪🏼
No sway bar in the back is common on e46's that are raced.
Too bad I missed that, I'll be up at my uncles house is SouthHaven in a couple weeks. I've always wanted to do an HPDE event at Gingerman in my FiST, but the times have never quite lined up.
A lot of guys run no rear sway bar with the correct suspension setup.
Holy cow that was loud. Good video.
Running without a rear sway bar is common on the Z and when I tried it the handling improved. I did have to increase the rear spring rate by 50lbs/inch.
dude the no sway bars gt6 i have that samething going on. grand tourismo is really real
dude do a g35 coupe for review plz
same car basically
+dustyowl99 I just want him to show the G some love
Same car but heavier, more expensive, but nicer looking. Oddly driven by a majority of humans of African descent.
should i bring him mine lol i live in la
+Wididy yeah bro what you got on it is it stock?
You guys should incorporate the exhaust sound of the specific car you are reviewing into the new One Take intro!
maxxis might not make good car tyres, but the do make great bicycle tyres.
High Roller 2s is all I use!
All I run on my down hill mtbs
brent cabot the days when they used to be £25 $30, those were the days.
Always kenda sticky 🙄
Love the 350z!
VQ engine great great engine i like it bubba very good noise
Nice Z Matt Park!
I've heard of the no rear sway bar tick to keep the front flat and make the weight move in the back for drifts.
The first time I've liked the noise of a vq... 👍👍🏻👍🏼👍🏾
haha, love the sound of the Tomei exhuast...i have it on my 370Z.
That thing totally catches up to those faster cars in the corners.
Is Matt talking about the car temps or his temp? He was pretty balmy in the pits lol.
Anybody know what mic he is using in the car to get that good audio without any wind noise?
What was done to the cooling elements? Stock radiator and shroud? Upgraded radiator and fan delete?
1:40 Yeah no kiddin, loudest in recent memory, probably since that Turner z4 GT3
I would love to see a tuned g35/37 on this channel
Maybe increase front swaybar stiffness or dial out some camber from rear to fix rear stepping out. Cool track car.
So is it really balanced or the back wants to come around? It can only be one or the other. Great sound does not make Great track car!
