I held both the shimano expride b 7"2 MH and the Daiwa Zillion 7"3 MH today. The Zillion felt more comfortable to hold in the hand, but the Expride is definitely lighter. Visually, the Zillion looks and feels better to me. In the end, I walked out with an Expride just for the fact that i know the Expride is a very sensitive rod. There isn't enough review on the sensitivity of the Zillion for me to get it over the Expride. I really hope I didn't make a mistake, lol. Because I really wanted that Zillion also.
@@hunterhayes2780 so after testing it out for about 10 hours. I threw chatterbaits, jigs and a 3/8 texas rig. It’s extremely light and paired perfect with the zillion 7.1 reel. The tip is very parabolic with a great back bone. Highly recommend
@@kierchilders 3 months of using the 7’5 MH and all I can say is that it’s one of the best Jig rods I have ever used. It’s very light and balanced as well as sensitive. It is very parabolic so if you are looking for a stiff true fast action then I would re consider. For me I don’t mind it though
@ thanks for the feedback man! I actually prefer that parabolic bend for those longer casts and versatility to throw moving baits. Do you have any other rods to compare it to?
@@solaydbakI shimano released the first gen poison adrena around 2013 so….. To all you phoenix fanboys I hate to break it to ya but shimano was the first to use monocoque handles and phoenix copied them 😂
My question is how this new zillion compares to the new Elite AGS? On paper, it’s hard to gauge. The Elite has AGS guides and Zillion has monocoque handle. They both have SVF Nanoplus blanks and both have air sensor reel seats.
Daiwa came for Shimano's neck with these rods. Like others have said, they look just like the exprides. Even have some of their same rod ratings. Hahaha. I want the same rod he showed in the video.
Are the guides Alconites or SIC? Daiwa USA notates Alconites, but some peeps online stated the guides are SIC. I suppose the Fuji tag on the rod would denote the guide material.
@@tims_always_fishing7117the difference between expride and zillion is $50, the difference between zillion and poison adrena is $60. So no, it can be compared to either, or even closer to expride.
I just received mine in the mail from a different retailer and I’m very disappointed. This model feels very tip heavy, especially for a rod that only weights about 4.6 oz. I have rods that are equal to or heavier in weight and they feel much better in hand. Also the reel seat is very narrow. It’s thinner than shimano’s reel seats which are already on the narrow side imo.
Can you please do a video on the 7’3” heavy power moving bait versatile. Thank you.

Thanks for this review and It looks Awesome and can’t wait to get my hand’s on one.
Please do a review of the 7’5 MH+!
I just purchased the 7’5 MH fast. I’ll let you know how it handles

Hope you can do the zillion 721MFB in casting next. Thinking about getting that rod when it comes out .
If they don't sell out immediately we will!
Very attractive rod for sure... mind you, it looks identical to an expride. I'd totally give one a rip!
😂 I might too. I believe the Phenix M1 was first to use a monocoque handle. It's a great sub 200$ rod
@@tims_always_fishing7117pretty sure shimano poison series was the first in the states

Nice review!
Just saw this review - thanks. Will there be a review of the 7’-5” MH-H?
Can you do a video on the 7”6 spinning rod?

Do the 6’8 please, the blank has a shiny finish?
May I ask how heavy the rod is? Especially for the ZLON701MLMRB-FL / ZLON681MRB-FL ?
Hey look! A Steez AGS Utility Player without sketchy guides!
Did you get a video in with the 7’2 heavy
Can you review 7’9 zillion SB rod
Can you test out 7’9HR zillion
For the price . Would you chose zillion or expride?
It's more expensive than the Expride, have to compare this to a Poison Adrena. Shimano ftw

please due to 7'5 mh+
Bought time Daiwa made a pretty rod. Too bad its a Expride knockoff.
Is that all you see? They’re a different rod blank, different blank manufacturing process, different actions, different guides, etc. just to name a few
It is ugly, no inspiration when they could've made it like the previous gen.
Not ugly, that’s just your opinion little guy.
@@avocato2829 this rod is beautiful lol idk what he’s talking about.
